Maybe a lot of you already know this tips but man this looks promising to solve my 3-4 years playing FM, always stuck when it comes to player performance even tough my team was flying in every game. Some of the written guide out there are mostly ambiguous, this video gives clear and straight forward example. Thanks Jake!

Great stuff, thanks! It would be nice to have all of these tips in a list rather than a video though, which could be easier to follow than having to pause the video and move back and forth to remember everything. If there was a list, you could add caveats to it as well, e.g. the example you did with combining traits and taking traits away if you feel they do not fit (with examples of which ones to each positions)

what i would like to see in next fm or if possible in FM24 when you go to training a traits section with all the traits and stats needed or like requirements of certain stats and can put it into each category movement and others and a remove trait section so you wont need scroll through saves time thats just one thing i would like to see in next fm or if possible this fm

is there a way to accelarate how fast player will learn traits does fm have script range of days needed or its random ?

a bit off topic but on my man utd save i bought in 3 cbs and scalvini and ignacio where out performing varane in training so moved varane to cdm and casemiro was not great there but varane was great maybe because he is a cb why he works there when on the atk it goes to a back 3 but game keeps saying varane is playing out of position even tho does well there not saying killing it but doing a job so modified my squad planner but varane not willing to negotiate a contract but if he goes i have two options go and get another cdm or try casemiro/rensch who is a beast and can play anywhere on the backline but i think rensch is better as either wing back dm or cm can play cb but i have other options there mainoo is a beast on my wingers with my formation been a diamond and two strikers rashford not cutting it garnacho doing ok i figured been young can learn it but i put on his training to stop cutting in as does not suit strikers but my assistant says does not suit wingers i wish i could say i dont play wingers grrr but once it finished it said garnacho still cutting in trying it again same dam response from ass idiot cant see i dont play wingers amad same after finishing trait training says still cutting in also same for pellestri and elanga anthony was out from the start of the season till jan im in feb so giving anthony his chance i may have to sell all them wingers garnacho still young so il keep him dunno about rashford plan to play fm on the weekends i would recommend rensch as a great wonderkid very versatile someone to do a vid on also kenneth taylor yes expensive but worth it

player traits are great and fun an example garnacho on training im training him to striker and on traits to stop cutting in need that done first then can add play central but last time i put stop cutting in when finished said still cutting in im going to try it again in your opinion should i continue with it

i agree on harry maguire dwells on the ball does not really suit a cb for me playing a gegenpressing possession holding the shape not what i want also would not want tries long range passing i prefer a build up up not trying to bypass the build up also brings ball out of the back on a slow player its a risk and his composure and decisions are very low tbh i dont think his positioning should not be that high real life its not great i think based on real life he is 12 max idk if he paid the game dev team to get better ratings on my save he is on my outs and im a man utd fan implementing my system right away i dont play my fm based on real life ive modified my formation a bit my wingbacks are in the wingback spots it was a 4-1-2-1-2 now its a 2-3-2-1-2 im going to have a ton of outs in the summer on the chopping block likes of dalot shaw and malacia with maybe a davies in and lb fernandes playing under davies sancho erikson donny elanga pellestri and on possible rashford and anthony martial will leave on a free and my strikers will be oshiman garnacho rory wilson and bring in another striker or see my youth i really want to bring players up through my youth

So I have been doing a build a nation save… I’m 4 seasons and the club I was with we won 3 league titles out of 4 but have the worst youth ratings ever.. the board won’t improve it.. so after year 4 I said I had enough and went to another club in the same country to see if I can get this club up to the top and get some better youths.. how do you improve ur club through the youth if your board don’t allow u to improve ur crappy youth coaching, facilities etc..

Am I saying something stupid if I say you should not give smart players traits other than purely technical? As well as instructions

I've just got the game and for me it's broken by ridiculous amount of injuries if you have a game without an injury you are lucky

@fmscout I have been pretty good yeah and it doesn't seem due to low fitness they have been quite good fitness wise maybe late game I've been playing them when tired a bit too much but it's really been injury after injury I have allocated my training to my assistant maybe its down to that

​@@petersmith2522 Go to your training tab and then to intensity. Check your training intensity and try reducing the intensity for players that are low on fitness on the top of the screen, this may help. Moreover, if you are playing a tactic with get stuck in then try removing it. You can also try to hire better physio's as this has an impact as well. Hope this helps.

If you cannot rotate anymore then go to rest tab and make all of them NO GYM WORK for 1 weeks 🎉 Bammm 100% condition. I always did that in lower league (late season) since squad depth is so bad.

I think you’ve fallen into the trap of taking the trait on face value. If you hover over them it actually tells you what they do in the ME. Dwells on ball means he just takes his time to pass it rather than it being negative, it’s really helpful for players with low composure and poor passing/vision. Dives into tackles is another one, sounds bad but it just means they actually try to tackle rather than throwing a half arsed foot in. Great video though, traits are one of the most misunderstood aspects of the game. Would love some experiment content with them!

Thanks mate appreciate the support/feedback, I did hover over the traits off camera of course to help understand their effects. With the dwells on the ball one for example, its not that dwelling on the ball is a "bad" thing to do, more that I see it cause more problems than it solves in some occasions kind of thing, your explanation will be helpful to many i'm sure though if I didn't make it clear enough in the video : )
