Your Dmaj7 is how I sometimes play an F#m without the bar chord. Any minor can be played with the high 3 strings in its root fret position.
Reminds me of sixpence none the richer called kiss me.

You are really close. It’s very similar except it’s played in C
It's so frustrating. I have been playing these cords all of my life. You'd think I would have stumbled on that melody. There are so many notes and the way you can arrange them. It's all most infanit. I love guitar. Never a boring moment. I consider myself blessed that I didn't quit some 40 years ago. I learn something new every week. Actually I could learn something new every day, if there was only more time. I love guitar. Besides family, it has been a cornerstone of my life. Thank you, good sir, for sharing..

It's amazing how even after all these years, the guitar continues to surprise and inspire you. Your dedication is truly commendable, and it's wonderful to hear that it's been such a meaningful part of your life. Keep on strumming and discovering, there's always something new to learn and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your passion! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Tony is still the most straight talking no-nonsense teacher on KZread. I love it and can follow some tricks, although I am still very much a bedroom stadium rock n roller! (But the crowd still give me standing ovations in my head!)

Wow, thanks a lot for the kind words! I'm glad you find my lessons helpful! Those imaginary standing ovations count too! 😄🎸

@@GuitarMEwatching your lessons is bringing me WAY out of my comfort zone and just after about 5 hours of practice, I can already see a MASSIVE improvement in my overall control and it is so addicting!!! I watched the Sweet Home Alabama tutorial and I am struggling with the bit that leads into the G Major Barre chord but the level of control overall is insane
It’s so interesting that this progression reminds people of so many songs. And honestly I didn’t intentionally rip anyone off. The fact that so many people hear so many songs speaks for itself. It’s a beautiful progression that many famous artists use. For me I hear “kiss me” for sure. Thanks for watching
It is a lovely progression that's in quite a few songs. I first came across it on Rod Stewart's " I was only joking my dear ", but have noticed it on quite a few others since.

I first heard this progression in a jingle from the early 70's promoting the new fall lineup on T.V. Unmistakable. I used to riff on it with the band back in the day.
Nice progression, Tony. A progression that George Harrison RIP was quite fond of, Most noticeably in, the excellent, 'Something'
That first opening progression you showed is the chorus to "Time In A Bottle".
The acoustic guitar is such a beautiful instrument.

@robertwillett4122 Have Fun!!!
If you lose the G and throw in an Em youv'e got "Everbodys Talkin" by Harry Nilsson. A very good song for a beginner to learn as it has simple rhythm that they can aim for, all downstrokes to start with then go for the challenge of sticking it like the song.

Another one of my favorites, Tony. I also played the E string riff before the A chord and ended with the E string riff and then the D chord. Sounded cool. it sounded like a walk down. Thanks for all you do Tony, I've learned learned SO much and am learning so much from your lessons. Mike
