This Should Be on EVERY Motorhome!! 360 Birds Eye Camera

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I finally did it!!! I bought this camera system over a year ago, I have been talking about it for over a year, so I figured I would finally install it while the weather is still nice enough.
I have been previledged to drive many RVs across the country over the years and on many of the nicer motorhomes, they come equipped with an all around birdeye view camera system that has won me over with the added safety and security as a driver that normal backup and side view cameras do not offer. Especially as modern cars now have this as a more common feature with less blind spots than a RV/Bus, it was a system I wanted to add to my motorhome to protect it and those around me and those inside, but it took me awhile to find a system that would work and still look good and be inexpensive to recommend.
As I said in the video, the system I used was for automotive use and the stitching was lack luster and I could not find it anymore on Amazon. But I did almost install this other system which looks very similar, but decided not to use as the cameras were a little bigger, and the video output is only HDMI, but I suppose in hindsight a HDMI to composite adapter could have been used. The reviews I see on the other system have been good too.
This was a long video in the making and appeciate you watching it and hope it helps inspire you as an owner and the RV industry to make these systems standard and help increase safety and comfort for everyone.
Thanks for watching!

Hard to believe there is no aftermarket system for an RV... That would be a great upgrade for any older RV. Great Job!

I installed an Owl Eye 360 on my RV about 6 years ago. They had a RV version with extra long cables. The installation was pretty easy but the calibration was a pain. The system worked great EXCEPT for the small 4-wire round connectors. One at a time they all failed. So, one at a time, I cut off the connectors and hardwired everything. I never had any issues since. I love the 360 system. Yes, I use my mirrors but having a single place to glance to get a 360 comprehensive view of what's around me. I did use the turn signal inputs and really appreciated having the 360 view bias towards my turn.

RVS(Rear View Safety) has a couple of quality 360 cameras. I installed one on my motorhome and it works as well as any factory one. It also records all of the cameras while they are on. They are a little expensive but so is the motorhome you are trying to protect!

Well done, as always. Tempted to get something like that for my car. Would love to have had video recorded on all 4 sides when KS troopers pulled me over claiming I wandered onto the shoulder line, as an excuse to do a traffic stop in April. Quickly followed by a canine trooper whose dog of course alerted for drugs, when there were none. At least 4 cop cars, with 3 or 4 cops rummaging through my car on a warrantless search for about 15 minutes, finding nothing of course in their 30+ minutes of hassling me. So I'm thinking 4 front/inside dashcams for starters, one in each direction. And 4 externals for birds eye would be good too. Insurance claims or hitting a curb are the least of our problems with cops out there making stuff up to justify pawing through everything in your vehicle. I was lucky they didn't plant drugs, they were so intent on finding some, now that they have pot-loving states on both sides.

You make things so easy looking, I could never wire and set up a camera on a car in an hour, you really excel, lol. It looks good on your rig hardly even see it. You've inspired me. Been sitting on my garmin bc50... I'm thinking I'll run the power wire through roof into the rear AC - put the transmitter under the AC cover. If that works, I'll not have to run anything underneath and I can use the backup camera prep location instead of a license plate mount. Lastly, I may look at mounting some emitters to extend/improve the night vision range, but we'll see what the mock up results look like first.

Its ironic you just made this video... I just did something very similar in a few ways to my 33 ft Newmar Class A. I took Harbor Freights 8 channel 4 cam DVR survelence system name Cobra and installed the 4 cams and a 24" monitor up where the orig tube type tv was above driver and passenger seats overhead. I have the same head unit as you only branded by Boss not whatever company yours it but I also know it sell under another name too I cant remember but they are all the same just with different startup logos and logos on the screen. They have a 8 and a 10" model. But more of the similar is I taped into the rear camera factory wiring to get signal for new rear cam like you and I am trying to get the screen I have in monitor which serves as a security cam all 4 sides when parked I want the feed to be on the head unit while driving and use as a dash cam for all 4 views that way and all wired without lag etc. Only issue I have now is only RCA input for head unit when my DVR unit only has VGA and HDMI output. So I am researching a converter which they seem to make for both hdmi and vga. I think I prefer the hdmi but where I alread have hdmi for the larger overhead monitor I installed I would also need to Y that signal then convert... Where maybe if I can use the VGA if it outputs to both at the same time or at least easily switchable in the menu I wouyld get vga to rca and be able to keep them both plugged in and not have to switch each time I drive. Plus having the overhead large while driving is great for any passengers in the back to keep and eye on the surroundings and be 2nd, 3rd or 4th sets of eyes possiblly preventing a issue.

@@AZExpert That's sad. I believe the Tadi bros one you can upload at least the overhead image. If not, I'll drive the fire truck pic. If you can see their file system, maybe it's possible to find their top images and swap yours in?

@@AZExpert Ah how much ground clearance do you have with them inflated? Are the bottom panels halfway up the tires? I’ve noticed some are and some aren’t. Country Coach in particular are quite low. This is a major factor for me because I expect to boondock the majority of the time.

I've never had a smart home camera system not have app failure, connectivity issues, needs for constant upgrades and just a means to sell a monthly video storage fee and every RV camera is already proprietary, if anything they are more robust than anything for residential use.
