    I believe part of the reason Charlotte was so adamant about her children providing heirs was because she was afraid that George would be forgotten in history. one of my favourite George moments that I've never really heard anyone talk about is in the birth scene. He sees Charlotte is in distress and instead of asking one of the many men and doctors in the room, he turns straight to the other woman who is there and asks for her thoughts, even though she is immediately dismissed by the doctor. And he then listens to her advice over the doctor where most men would've considered a woman's input completely irrelevant

    For some reason it felt flat to me. There just wasn’t enough build up to them falling in love. I could see him being smitten by her from the start, and having intercourse would likely cause them to form an attachment, but beyond that, I kept wondering what I missing. People kept raving about this show and they hyped it up so much that my expectations were high and it ended up being just a mid-level show for me.

  • @rosa_stars349

    @rosa_stars349

    Жыл бұрын

    @@IndieCindy3 i believe it's another approach to love. It's not the sexual, lustful love that we seen in season 2. This time it's a unique couple with unique sets of lives that have fallen in love the first time they've seen and met each other. George had been hiding his feelings from her the entire time. Charlottle had no idea how he felt about her but could only assume and trust during that scene. Unlike Kate and Anthony or Simon and daphne, their first time was beautifully done and not aggressive. He was soft and gentle with her and knew she was a young girl (17) and wanted her to enjoy it. Of course, their sex became a lot more aggressive as their tension went on a course, but it was clear they found pleasure in one another. For the entire series we had no genuine communication. He was hiding himself from her to keep her safe. He thought he would hurt her and hated that he was so in love with her. When Charlottle took a stand to stop this paradox of him showing himself through desire but his hiding emotions , she knew she had to get to the bottom of it because she realized she had fallen in love. For the first time, we see a shift in her character as she decides to reject his command and stay there to find the truth. If you actually take in the moment without anticipating some sort of remake from previous seasons, you will find yourself emotional in the outward realness in his confession. *"I'm a mad-mad, I'm a danger, in my mind there are different worlds creeping in"* is gut ranching. Especially the delivery of his voice and gestures. Charlotte reassuring him from his self-hating words by saying *"“George! I will stand with you between the heavens and the earth, I will tell you where you are. DO. YOU. LOVE. ME”* is powerful and beautifully delivered as well shows great built up to George's final *"I LOVE YOU"*. Then Charlottle having a sign of relief and George going on to use the stage given to him by Charlottle to confess about his feelings and his love for her. Everything he was hiding to protect her is now being announced to her in a tearful, emotional way. You could tell there was so much more he could have told her, but he desired her so much and wanted to follow his heart as he says, *"my heart calls your name"* and going in for a passionate kiss. For the first time in his life, he chose to follow his own heart instead of trying to avoid it. We could have gotten a chapter's worth of confessing but he couldn't take it. This was love. Not "just" lust. That's why people loved the scene so much. Also fun fact, India was only 19-20 years old filming the brilliant scene. And Corey had a leg injury during filming. It's also his first serious role but he did amazing. Beautifully done series and a break from all the sexual focused arenas we were used to in the Bridgerton.

    unfortunately i feel that these are the pains of motherhood (i myself am not a mom). Mothers want the best for their children and try to guard them with all their might although sometimes their best intentions caused harm to their children. Unfortunately children (myself included) don’t see the big picture or don’t see the story behind why our mothers do things, we only see our side and the hurt that’s been caused by them. We may blame them and hate the popular saying “it’s for your own good” or “it’s what’s best for you” since kid’s are only kids, moms try to protect them from the harsh reality. Just as you said, they have to/had to protect their babies in a world where women’s voices were belittled and not heard and there is only so much to be done. I know i’ve struggled with my own relationship with my mother and now that’s im an adult, she’s finally opened up to why did things and it really shows how unfortunately under certain circumstances, people (especially mothers) can only do so much and how even thought it was done with the best intentions, those intentions can cause harm or was not what children needed to go through.

    The last scene broke anybody with a sensible heart. The fact that Charlotte seem to be the only person to get through to the king and actually find “Just George, Farmer George “ was heartbreakingly beautiful. Queen Charlotte is the best series thus far because I’ve never rooted more for a couple to succeed despite the numerous heartbreak they had to endure.

    My favourite Bridgerton love confession scene! George didn’t confess his love for Charlotte even after she told him she loved him. He only admitted it after she told him that his illness doesn’t matter and she’ll stick by him through like that’s so REAL. She made him feel safe to be vulnerable and I love that so much.

    They ended this series with THE BEST scene of this show. The scene where George thanked her and held her hand, and the particular part where she looks at him as young king George, when they were young, things were better, as if time had stopped for her years ago. Unconsciously tears started falling down my eyes. That scene just was heartbreaking, beautiful and soulful in every way. It didn't just made me emotional because because they have aged and how the handsome, charming George turned into this condition, cause we all age, it made me emotional because it is the reality of life. Nothing stays the same. Because of that particular scene of young George's flash infront of Charlotte, and ofc vice versa when King sees young Charlotte too, this show is going to stay with me for a long time. And after watching this scene, the previous clips of the show hit even harder. The parallels of their young and old versions were so perfectly done, it is probably the best scene I've watched in a long while.

    I loved how realistic this show was. It didn’t paint Queen Charlotte as a cure for George. He was who he was and she stood by his side through it all and that’s real no matter how painful. Also their struggle as a love story made more sense then the bridgerton season. People love and fall in love with people who have chronic illnesses every day and make the choice to support them, I think it’s great that was portrayed.

    This hits harder than THE NOTEBOOK. Queen Charlotte and King George are based off of the real royal couple. Sadly, in reality Queen Charlotte died a few years before King George (and he was never told bc he was so far gone). It’s truly heartbreaking. What’s also a little funny about the new heir being the future Queen Victoria is that my research showed she was supposed to be the first one to debut in a WHITE wedding dress (although white dresses were still seen in the nobility and royal family because white dyed fabric was more expensive) and this drive the trend toward white wedding dresses in Western society; meanwhile, all the Bridgerton weddings showed someone walking down the aisle in a white dress years before she is even born lol.

    This was bittersweet, especially considering how worried Brimsley was when Charlotte went to "visit" the king. This rarely went well, judging by scenes in previous seasons. Also, he never calls for her; he's probably almost always living in a different world of his own now. And going under the bed does not always work. She cried because this time it did, because this time she wanted him to fully comprehend that they will have a future beyond their children. I actually went and rewatched the scenes with the king in the first and second season, and it's brutal how scared she is when he shows up being crazy in his own world and time.

  • @aaliyahbrown5739

    i honestly think that Charlotte's disattachment from her children is cuz of all that she had to endure. Like, at this point of her life, she has pretty much lost George most of the time to his mental illness, she has had to take the lead on the royal duties of George cuz he was unable to continue, she couldn't really tell anyone what was happening cuz of the image the royal family must portray (most people ended up finding out anyway) and she had 15 kids, and lost 2 in childhood. I think she just couldn't let her emotions control her anymore because she probably wouldn't have been able to deal with everything she's had to deal with if she let her emotions in. Not saying that excuses her from some of her behavior, but I can definitely understand why she does some of these things and always seems to appear unattached from everyone

It just felt so well written and satisfying in everyone’s stories(even though they’re not necessarily happy endings). I also love that Charlotte is a flawed character in a lot of ways but was the perfect person for George and the best queen she could be. They called it the "Madness of King George". For the longest times they thought he had Porphyria but current medical opinion is he was Bipolar. Either way the Doctor in the basement was not helping and was really just a sadist who was on a power trip because he could control a King. He purposely triggered George more than once to prove he was right. But Brimsley... Love Brimsely. I didn't really care for him in the Bridgerton series but this made him so real, and selfless.

    I loved this series and that final scene crushes me every time. I think this episode showed us the cost to Queen Charlotte standing between the heavens and earth for George. To remind him who he is and where he was. She became estranged from her own children. Not fully present for them in the way they needed. It would've been a challenge to be a fully supportive parent given the times while also being queen. Then add having a husband, who is king, and suffering from mental illness. Something was going to suffer and unfortunately it looks like her relationship with her children. It pleases me to know that their heir was Queen Victoria who is widely regarded as the grandmother of Europe.

    THe sad thing about Queen Charlotte and her children was that she had to focus all her energies on caring for the King, keeping the Palace secrets and ruling in his absence…. That she never had time to be an involved mother. I thought this was a beautiful love story about not only how love starts, but how it endures through the years and all the pain. At the end, Charlotte and George see each other as they were when they first fell in love. They still have that same deep love for each other.

    I don't know if someone else has said it already but king george and queen charlotte were one of the only happy marriages in the history of the monarchy. We know this because even though it was extremely common at the time, even encouraged, king george was one of the only kings that never took a mistress, ever. He's forever faithful to charlotte and they did have 15 kids so it's fair to say their garden was BLOOMING. What he had was porphyria (it is actually a blood/metabolism disorder that has neurological symptoms, he mentions some of the physical stuff when he talks about his colic as a child). The thing is that this disorder is extremely rare and to this day there is no cure. So even in modern times, king george never had a chance, at least he would have had a diagnosis, but that's it. Also HUGE props to the actor that played king geroge and the actress that played lady danbury because this was their first proper jobs, both had only had one line in a show before this and they were both amazing. I mean, what a way to start an acting career.

    fun fact: the heir they are talking about is Queen Victoria the longest reining Queen at the time. You should look at the movie " the Young Victoria and Victoria and Albert" movies they are really good. For me the reason then ending scene hit even harder for me, when they see each other young is because they see each other young for different reasons I feel. Charlotte see George young because that was when he was in his peak, when his memory was pretty good and he remembered her. So she only want to remember him that way, while George he can only remember her when she was young because that's when his memory of her stopped for him. So when he is in his right mind he only see her as her young self because that is what he can remember. Which would make since why Charlotte wear robe a la francaise which was popular in the 1700s when she was young vs the style of dress everyone else is wearing in the regency period that the show takes place in. And if you don't know why it's is called the regency period because Charlotte and Gorges's son George IV is regent( rules in his fathers place) since George is ill. George IV is the one that daughter died in childbirth sorrows, prayers
