It always cracks me up when you're looking for sweet Toby and you just know you'll fond him down in the RAVINE. He's very predictable!

Carley might be digging to get to the moist dirt so she could lay down to keep cool. Only a suggestion do you check your chickens for mites. Mites can kill a chicken quicker than anything. There is a powder form mite killer you can sprinkle in their cage on the ground that works to get rid of any mites. To look for mites on chickens look around where they lay their eggs. Makes it easier to see. ❤❤💘

They can also add wood Ashes to the Chicken area .

Diatomaceous earth added in chicken areas, especially where they dust bathe is really good for chicken mites and lice. Also works with goat lice

The neighbors behind us had a German shepherd and the flies had bit her on the ears so bad there were sores all along the edges of her ears. They were bleeding a little. I took some neosporin salve and put on them twice and they healed up really good and then I would put it on her ears once a week and she never had any more problems with them. If it’s a cheaper fix for her. You might try it. If not , I’m sure you know what to do for her. Just an option.❤ oh I love the incubator building. I worked as a camp nurse back in the’70’s & we split the kids up in 2 groups by age & sex to do a day of fun competition for every camper. Started with 1 from each team in a bunk & revelry was played. They jumped out of bed & made it, tag next kid for flag raising, meals were incorporated- staff got to call silent meals - so the kids did silent cheers. Throughout the day there was swimming, canoeing, sailing, volleyball, basketball, baseball, tennis, dodgeball, track & field, tug of war, girls played jacks, archery, there was something going on every minute and every part of the camp was utilized. It was great fun for the kids and staff alike. They had teams doing scripture/bible knowledge challenges. Ended up with taps & the two kids back to the cots. Keeping 160 kids busy dawn to dusk was great. Good memories.

I love that you are hatching so many eggs, even if you do sell many chicks. I could use some prayers, my computer and bank accounts got hacked. I contacted my local sheriff department and my bank, but am kind of worried. Got my computer back today after being "scrubbed". The bank said they would watch for any outrageous charges and alert me. Plus I have applied for a parttime job at the same time, so have to let them know that I was hacked and have been dealing with the aftermath, so was unable to get back to them. Thank you in advance for prayers. That would have been scary. GOD BE WITH THE ones that were airlifted.

Right after 911 a helicopter was flying low and scared me. Afterwards I remembered that the hospitals are close by and that’s where it was going.

Stephanie, I am assuming you know that you don't need a rooster for your hens to lay eggs. You just need to rooster so you will have fertile eggs. I didn't know that when I started raising chickens.

The dogs are livestock guardians and they are patrolling all night. They go off during the day to sleep.

Lavender offing tins are a nice little purpleish color and you can find red lace blue wine dots, which are a real pretty powdery blue and the more you breed them with the right stock they will get really beautiful beautiful colors. Look them up Stephanie they’re really pretty.😂❤❤❤

With Carly’s ears clean the wounds then use Vaseline on them before you spray with fly spray and the flies can’t bite her Stephanie. Plus the Vaseline helps heal wounds as well she could be digging to get cool if it’s hot most dogs do that if they are outside dogs.😊

The town I grew up in .the med center helicopter landed at our ball park right behind pur fire department..where someone wrecked at the mountain. We had a big hospital but they would fly them to the trauma center the town over ..but now our hospital is more advanced with a trauma center .but I always felt sad for whoever was hurt and prayed that they would be OK..

Hi Stephanie pray for the girl injured nothing more scary than seeing the helicopter come down. There are big sports field Behind me and that is used for emergency pick ups. Wish people didn’t always think the worst because they didn’t see an animal it is impossible for either Steph or Brandon to show every animal. When my Mom got sick in 2005, they brought the helicopter and set it down on the septic leach field next to my house and took her to Kansas City hospital. We live in the counrty 45 min south of Kansas City

I don’t know if predators like bright colors or not, but I can tell you right now most of our brighter color chickens are the ones that disappear
