What amazes me is it people will be told about a scam. And then fall for another one that's identically the same.

true - but typically they are going after people who are vulnerable or not focused. Anyone can get caught off guard which is why the more we share this, the more awareness we bring and try save as many people as we can

@@LironSegev very true. But I've seen people repeatedly fall for scams. But that's why sites like yours are important to constantly remind people. The tragedy is most of these are easy to see through. But too many people are myopic.

Same and I also have "Truecaller" installed on my iPhone that automatically blocks any calls in a worldwide blacklist as spam, and anyone not in my contacts. It will also pull better Caller ID data and say "Spam" if it's likely spam but can block the calls so they are declined instantly. So I don't even get bothered by the ringing or vibrating from anyone I don't know.

I used to do that, until I ignored - unknowingly - important callers. I can’t win, lol.

I had a message on my answering machine, at least seven years ago, that there was a warrant for my arrest due to unpaid taxes, I'm still waiting for the police to show up and arrest me 🤣. I tried calling the number they left just to screw with them but it had already been shut down by the time I heard the message.

I had one of them call me. I told him to go ahead and send the police.

Scammers just tried to get my Mama with the “Geek Squad” Scam. It was hilarious. I called the number to show my Mama how to spot a scammer. When the loser answered the phone, he was standing on a public street. You could hear all the cars and motorcycles beeping their horns. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Hackers that attack scammers should be awarded Citizens of the Year !!

My parents recently fell for this scam. The only good thing is that the scammers had told my mom not to tell her family and friends what was going on so my mom promptly called me to ask me to join in on the conversation because they thought it sounded fishy. She took lots of good notes when she talked to the scammers and as soon as I went over there and saw her notes and heard what was going on we shut that down immediately! How dare they try to trick my elderly parents. If I could reach through the phone and choke the scammers to death, I would!!!

Beware: I had one call me earlier this year saying a "technician" was coming to my house to turn off my electric and I needed to pay RIGHT NOW over the phone. The number was even a local number here in Florida. He had me going for just a minute because I couldn't remember if I paid the electric or not or when the bill was due. Anyway I didn't trust it and asked what the address and account number was there on his computer. He couldn't give me that information. I told him to get a real job and hung up.

Here in Ontario, it's illegal for electricity providers to shut off someone's power between November 15 and April 30, so check your local laws on that, and if someone calls to threaten you during whatever the local period is, just hang up.

About a year ago, or thereabouts, I got a call from Officer Judy from some New England state saying I could be arrested for something. I hung up. About a week later I got another call from Officer Judy in the Texas or Oklahoma area saying the same thing. I thought, 'Hmmm. You sure do get around, Officer Judy." I hung up. Nothing ever happened.

These scammera are a pain. Its good to explain as many times as its required to educate the general public.

If this requires for the victim to answer the phone than every introvert is exempt 😅😂

Or do as I do: don't ever call the number they provide. If needed, go to the company's real web site and contact them using their official information.

I also heard that wen you're searching for a page usually it appears at the top but with small letters says sponsored i heard not to click on that to scroll down and find the legitimate page cuz does how you get scammed also not sure if it's true but as a precaution i don't click

Some scammers create their own web pages to show that they are legitimate. So if they provide a web site to check out, don't go to it.

Exactly. NEVER click a link to a website or phone number, from a link in an email, or message. ALWAYS call from the official number that you either already, have or can look up legitimately. At least here in Australia ALL the banks and government departments ETC(!) tell you that they will never send such messages. And if it's a phone call never give them ANY information and hang up. THEN call the place on their official number and ask if they were calling you. If they were , then you can answer with 'relative' safety.

One of the last attempted scam for me was a phone (IRS-related type) about six years ago. I dragged him through the mud for 3 day7s before he gave up and stopped calling. Another one less than ten months ago hijacked an email address in my contacts and pretended to be my friend and asked me to get Apple gift cards for his friend because couldn't get out to do it. Coincidently, contacted the real person not more than 2 weeks previously and knew he was fine, and would never have asked me to do such a thing. If had been stuck in a situation, he would have called me. I toyed with that scammer for about a week. It's exhausting at times. Put that energy and time to better use, scummers! (Not misspelled)

I had my bank text people telling me they were targeted, and it they don't do that. Lol I JUST NOW got a text from them telling me my over $1,000 Macy's charge had cleared, with a link to click if it's "not you?" SO DO NOT CLICK OR CALL LINKS OR NUMBERS FROM YOUR BANK! Your bank won't text you anything containing numbers, etcetera.

I love scammers. They give me an opportunity to be as mean as I want to.

I love when scammers call cuz thats when the fun begins.

Scambaiters pissing off scammers everyday, go SP, Kitboga, Jim Browning and all of the others scambaiters around the world. And great work mention how scammers work and promote the scambaiters. Scammers deserve EVERYTHING they receive everyday especially when they are pissed off or scared.🤣🤣🤣

Although I have been aware of how this "too much in the bank" scam works for many years, this is the best and clearest explanation I have yet seen of how it works. (I'm a huge Pierogi fan.) Thanks for the excellent illustration and example!

Last one that called me, I responded to him in a similar Indian accent, and strung him along about ten minutes. I have plenty of time to waste, being old, bored and retired. 😆

I love how they really get under their skin! Also smart to hang up - I let all these calls go to voicemail. If its legit, they will leave a voicemail or get in touch in other ways. I use the Google Pixel 7 Pro phone and it has amazing facility to screen these callers and even answer the call and you can see on the screen what the person is saying so you can decide if you want to answer or not.

The KZread people awesome. They do a such a great job by protecting so many people!

The "IRS" scammers called me once to often. I asked to meet them in my office to correct the mistake, since I worked at an IRS service center. I even gave them an office number. Have not heard from them since.

Excellent video, very informative. It’s so important that people realise what the scumbags will do specially elderly and vulnerable people they really pylon with them with a temper, the anger the threats just trying to get money. My mum who was 90 was told by one of her friends if she ever gets a phone call and it’s in Indian on the phone just hang up never trust them and it worked before then she was played with them going on about her computer which she doesn’t even have and her broadband and they needed her banking again she didn’t have. I didn’t use, but it kept her instead and kept on the way, she didn’t get conned..

I love the calls re: my "new Medicare card". I always say "oh yes! I got it yrsyerday! thank you so much! for some reason they hang up!

I've been receiving odd text messages lately. They start off by stating if this is XX, then I reply back with stating that they have the wrong number. You would figure that the conversation is over, but then they start telling you that their sorry and start fishing expedition by complimenting you and wanting more answers. At that point I block their number.

Some of these scammers now ask for the overpayment in cash to be deposited into a bitCoin ATM and some ask for a large amount cash to be wrapped in foil and sent via FedEX or UPS to a mule. Banks et al need to secure the inspect code function on their websites.

Yeah. This is how. Someone came here to a mom and a minor child home . Now that person ain't gonna say what their reasons are,but once in they can use my electronics even my phone right from their phone. It's called paring and when in doing that they have access to insurance account, emails, contacts, and so fourth. It has and still is going on.

It is simple, if you do not know the caller, person who sent you the email just hang up and do not click on an unknown email. I know a comple of people who got scammed.

Simpler than, just don’t answer the call if it’s unknown…and just delete emails you don’t know anything about.

Don’t answer any unknown numbers- if it’s important they’ll leave a message.

I had a local American who was scamming people and was wanting to collect bond money to keep you out of jail. He’d tell you there was a warrant out for your arrest, so time was of the essence. Also not to hang up on him and drive to the courthouse where he’d accept payment outside of the courthouse.

They tried that with me but I don't have a table top computer. Now if I don't know the number on my phones I don't answer it.

Yes, I constant scams. I went into legit phone carrier to sign up for phone line. They asked for IDs then they acted like a scammers. Oh we had to send you to security levels then I asked that I never have any problem with anything. Since then hackers using my information and problems keep adding on. My point is caution with your IDs driver license and Credit cards.

Never give that info out unless it's 100 percent legit. Meaning, even if you have 1 tenth of 1 percent of doubt, don't cooperate!

They do the same thing with remote access apps on your phone. Share this with seniors in your life, they fall victim so often!

Please do a video on access to remote jobs that are scamming people.

I always call the main branch rather then numbers give in email or text messages. That's how I know who to report.

What i don't understand is why if you have all of their information are these scammers not being prosecuted?? Please explain. Thank you as always for what you do! Bless you!🙏💜✝️💜

Because these guys are invariably located in India where the police are corrupt and there is generally no interest in stopping criminals from fleecing people in the West.

Should you ever click on a email that seems to say you purchased something, at a store, (which you had a credit card for, but haven't used in over 20 years)...and you know you haven't gone there to get anything in years,...on the one hand, I would want to fix the issue, but on the other hand it could be a trap to infect my phone or computer, what's your advice?

On the News tonight they said Australians have lost billions this year to continuous scams. On average we get several attacks per week. Some have lost more than a million. Dating scams rate high, refund scams, impostors...

I'm amazed at the number of scammers, they are on nearly all websites.😡

It’s simple: If you don’t know the number, don’t answer it!!! Teach your non-savvy family members/friends to do the same thing. If it’s legit a message will be left that will make sense. If a message is left and doesn’t make sense, just delete and ignore.
