Feels like you're trying to save someone from depression, but they keep pushing you away, yet you continue, and in the end, you reach them and be with them. They still want to reject you, but don't resist your stay. I think that's why the character doesn't change to a frown, becuase it's not your depression, but theirs.

With the fact that Oodja saves you from falling, its less that he/they cause "depression" or sadness, opposite of Oobja, but that they are depressed. Like a role reversal

Hear me out, when we first met oobja we became very close friends and we decided to build a world together, during that process something happened between us. This “arguement” caused something to malfunction in oobjas system since oobja only knows how to love. Our memory got wiped and then we went to ajboo, which at one point mentions that there was only *one* time where it couldn’t forgive someone in the past (us). Ajboo thanks us for existing and seems to care (but at the same time talks about regret, forgiveness and seems genuinely depressed), it seemed like it was saying it’s last goodbye before becoming oodja (basically saying goodbye at the last piece of hope it was holding on). Towards the start, oodja seemed to actually hate us but towards the end the hate It was giving seemed forced, maybe it was using the hate as a way to cope about the fact that we forgot everything that happened between us. All those years of friendship and memories gone within seconds. The only thing of our friendship that remained was in oodjas memories. I think of it as ajboo was in denial and oobja was starting to accept reality. (Why tf did I write this) I don't know if there was already lore about these games

thats pretty real, because they still *want* help, evidenced by the fact there is a path, but they're scared. they let you get really close at the end, and they even sit there seemingly enjoying the moment for a while, then suddenly explode and try to make you leave

ok but the parody is very good tbh

i think this game does have more meaning than surface level. may just be overanalyzing, but i think the fact your character has a smile the whole time represents something more, persisting through hardship. While the game insults and berates you, tries to convince you to give up and stay away, and lies to you, you keep going with a permanent smile. You are free now, your depressing thoughts can't stop you, their words even are forced to help your progress at times. it's also why it both wishes for you to die and it wants to die itself tldr: one must imagine Sisyphus happy

i think the two games are connected first you play oobja where your character is sad but gets progressively more happier ending with a full smile when oobja is reached but with oodja it’s different… YOU are like oobja trying to help someone with depression but this time they don’t just let themselves get helped but rather resist to the point where they even hate interaction with other people and to finish it oodja say that you should quit in life and that probably means that oodja has the same idea in it’s mind and $uicid€ is found in many depression the ending message by oodja is "i hate you" indicating that oodja cannot be saved anymore…

this could actually end lives.
