This Rempe guy is an absolute DAWG

Спорт

If I had said the name Matt Rempe 2 weeks ago, would you have known who I was talking about? Well, neither would I... but this kid is an absolute DAWG. Just 4 games into his NHL career and this 6 foot 8 240 pound Alberta boy is making a serious name for himself in the NHL. Making his debut against the New York Islanders in the Stadium Series, meant he became the first to ever take a rookie lap outdoors. Not only his first game but his first shift, he dropped the gloves with Matt Martin at centre stage infant of 70 thousand, so he certainly made a splash. Then against the New Jersey Devils just 2 nights ago, he laid a massive hit on Nate Bastian which, it was a hit to the head so he got a 5 minute plus the boot. Then came today, playing the Philadelphia Flyers when after a little chat during warmups with Nicolas Deslauriers he had himself another scrap which may have been the fight of the decade against one of the best in the league. Notice something here? the Islanders, the Devils and now the Flyers in his first 4 games. This kid is mowing through Rangers rivals at an unprecedented rate. Exactly how you win the hearts of not only a fan base, but your locker room. And yes, he still has more penalty minutes than he has playing time on the ice. As for the game itself, it was a great one so watch as I cover it all in todays NHL video!

But Deslauris who got a FAIR one in(not the LOW blows that Rempe has been doing) got him good..Rempe had 2 black eyes it was close close but dude Deslauris held his own with Rempe and showed him the meaning of #BroadStreetBullies 😂

Kid is bringing attention to the NHL! Great stuff! We all appreciate the physicality and want it to remain in the game. Then see a guy like this work hard to round out his game above being solely a physical presence and hate on him? Hypocritical! The Islanders, Devils, and Flyers are all synonymous with tough guys when their teams were contending for the Stanley Cup: Dave Schultz, Clark Gillies, Scott Stevens. The Rangers Flyers game was incredible. It had everything! Embrace it if you’re a fan of hockey!

That hit during the Devils game shouldn't have been a misconduct...Once again in the new NHL players lead with / have their head down, obviously not protecting themselves, get smashed, and the other guy goes. If you lead with your head or have your head down during a play your asking for trouble, especially when the size difference is what it is. It is unfortunate when players get seriously hurt and you don't want to see concussion issues, but I'm seeing more and more hits lately that would be avoided or not as bad if your head is up.

Jersey and leg pull down? Vet trying to save whatever face wasn’t bruised up I guess? I’d think other guys around the league call him out for that BS on the new kid.

What has happened to Hockey ? I`m from the UK and have always loved watching this great sport (I`m 60 yrs of age). Of course there was always fisticuffs, but it was always preceded by an "incident". Now it seems two opposing players meet up before face off:.."When d`ya wannit big guy ?";........" Uh, say two minutes in ?",....." OK, that`s good for me." Sheesh.

The league NEEDS many more like Rempe! Hockey is best when emotions are raw and guys like this bring emotion back to the game! I don't know about other fans but the NHL is getting stale, I mean every team plays the same game, in the O zone you can't touch anyone anymore so you get these extended points of the game where the O players just skate around with the puck for 2 or 3 minutes cuz you can put your stick on them, you can hit them, so they run around with a tired D team just clogging up the middle of the ice holding on.
