fire ngl i like making a full loop with multiple layers and mixing and textures and perc loops etc and then putting drums over it which usually ends up taking around 2 hours a beat but this is fire for what it is. these beats aren’t bad at all and the fact he’s speed running them in under 10 minutes a beat is crazy
@nuh-uhbro765
Жыл бұрын
Also that first couple minutes is the most important to getting the actual idea out, and the other hours spent are usually just fleshing out that idea. Ear fatigue causes us to spend hours fleshing out ideas we don’t realize are bad until the next day. He’s essentially building a catalog of ideas as quick as possible, and then he can forget about the boring or mid ones, then spend as much time as he needs fleshing out only his best ideas.

I dont really care for the idea of speed running beats but his speed run beats still sound decently good. I believe quality>quantity in every aspect of music, and I believe rob knows that too. The fact that he say's its all a joke to him shows that his hearts really in the music. He's found a niche that works for him and is capitalizing off of it. Good for him, i'd like to hear how some of his other beats with more effort sound!

These are not quick productions. They are just quickly put together. All the time spent on the process to be able to do this counts too. It's actually vastly more important than the minutes shown here. Just because he starts with a blank slate doesn't mean it's done with zero preparation. Without it, it would be unintelligible trash.

Say what you want to say about him, but consider this analogy to mathematics. By practicing and becoming more proficient at solving equations and problems quickly, you enhance your overall cognitive abilities, enabling you to generate solutions faster when confronted with new challenges. The same principle applies to creative endeavors like music production. When an individual invests time in creating beats and actively engages in the process, they become more familiar with the workflow and gain efficiency. Consequently, they require less time to produce beats since they have a clearer understanding of how to proceed.
@RifleEyez

I agree with your premise, but it's kinda paint by numbers really. Same drums so we don't need to discuss that. Lay down a basic chord with a basic arp pattern, repeat 2 bars, then move the entire progression up or down 5 semitones, repeat again. Add 1-2 filler sounds with basic keys, no more than a handful of notes -- which is simple enough with ghost notes to just place at random, maybe one in the middle of the chord, and one that overlaps into the next. If you're feeling extra just drag out some notes like a flute or lead guitar that follows the chord prog. Wash over with reverb/delay plugins, or halftime/grossbeat to make it sound more interesting, repeat.
Being knowledgeable and comfortable with the hot keys is crucial
Making more beats per day gives you more changes them to be legendary🔥
Yo that workflow is crazy...what a fun challenge to see!

All 3 of them became really good in the end, but me personally, the gunna one got me good because of the flute, I paused on the arrangement, and the in an out parts of the flute might sounds pretty nice, I'm saying this because the time stops when the arrangement Is done, you guys should've play the finish product full to hear it, it was worth to do it like that too.
