This Place Rocks. My New Favorite Off Road Destination Is Death Valley...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Death Valley is an outstanding overland destination!
Beautiful views, great historical significance and rarely a chance of rain. Unfortunately, we had a few hiccups so we didn't get to see everything we wanted to but what a great reason to come back and explore this wonderland. Huge thanks to Jason and David for joining us on this adventure 🙌. Make sure you check out ‪@WillometMotorFab‬ and ‪@AutoEdits‬ to see what they are up to.
Thanks for watching and enjoy the video!

Dude .. that's so cool we literally just did that route you took over goler wash last thursday we stayed at Trona Pinnacles first night, Warm Springs second night right by that mine you went into, went into Death Valley to Badwater , then took Echo Canyon to hwy 95, stayed at Chloride City the third nite then went to Beaty to fuel up, went down to Rhyolite then Titus Canyon, ended up staying at Hunters Cabin our last night there and came out to hwy 190. It was a Blast , best trip I have ever made.

That was only .001 of Death Valley. Oh and thanks for not flying the drone in the park. Every November I do a week in Death Valley, I base camp at Furnace Creek and do day trips. This year I will split my time half in Furnace Creek and the other at Stovepipe Wells. I do other overlanding trips as well.

its not an "overland " video without getting content of airing up/down tires... thank you for getting that all important footage of that... :). Not sure if you noticed the rusty pipelines following the road into Trona or not. A gal that I met that works in a small town in randsburg told me that that is the actual water supply pipeline for the town of Trona and that its the cause of many problems in her town. Definitely not drinkable by any means. As a plumber I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing and hearing the story of the rusty pies of Trona. :). Thanks for another great video and it was great to see you hanging out with Willomet's Fab! Been following his build of that big ol burb. Sad to hear that his wife wasn't feeling well but glad that it wasn't anything serious! Hope you had fun in Vegas and made it out alive... :)

@@kayak77 I've never tasted Tronas' water myself but ridgcrests' does have a distinct flavor... Just going off what the gal told me who claimed shed lived there her whole life. My dad use to live in trona n the 60's for a couple years. His uncle was the manager of the pot ash plant there. My Grandma used to go for walks out on the dry lake bed and find sharks teeth laying around. My dad has a lot of great stories about that place and I take my kids there often and share them with them so they can have some memories of him.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. When I lived in NorCal I used to ride to Death Valley every January on my motorcycle. One year I got the bright idea to enter the park from the south so like the idiot I was at the time I rode Goler Wash & Mengal Pass (on a BMW R1100GS). Long story-short, the soft sand/loose gravel conspired to slam me and my 600 lb adventure bike (we didn't use that term in 1999) onto the ground. I finially made it to Furnace Creek after dark complete with several bruised ribs and a badly sprained ankle.

That a massive bike for the sand! Was trail riding one day with some buddies at Clear Creak CA, and saw some guys trying to travers a simple fire road that was super muddy, and kept falling over several times trying to make it up a slight grade. We helped them get turned around because the way they were going was waaaaaYy worse! Glad to hear you made it back to safety. :). Sand can be a blast on the right bike but BMW would not be one of them. :)Airing down the tires will help make I a bit easier though if you happen to find yourself in its clutches again. Cheers!

Heading to DV again in a few days .. I've found that the best parts of DV are the ones most tourists can't get too .. I love exploring the old mines. My estimation is that only 10% of DV is paved for tourists .. the other 90% is for us off roaders who really like to explore. I have two rigs I use for DV .. an older 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 2Dr and a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek that's lifted with all terrains and a skid plate. I go by myself but as you should be aware that DV is dangerous and because of that I always carry a Spot X for safety.

My great grandfather was a prospector/miner out in and all around Death Valley. He established many different gold and silver mines throughout his lifetime. His best haul was in one of his silver mines. Pulled out over 200,000 dollars worth of silver (now that was before 1920's silver pricing too). My mom still has the newspaper article about his findings out in the desert. He built his own town with some of the money. My grandma sold it decades later to Roy Roger. I think it might still be used as a museum to this day, maybe. It's been awhile since I've last been out there, so I don't know what kind of shape the place is in. Anyway seeing your video of this area brings back childhood memories for me. Thanks for the video Nate! 🇺🇸

Thank you! I went up Goler Wash and never found Barker Ranch. We turned around since we were by ourselves and I was hoping there would be others on the trail anyway.

I wheeled Panamint valley and Surprise canyon in the early 90's with my parents and we always went out to Barker ranch, there were beds and book shelves with books. The entire house was complete, its a shame to see how much vandalism has happened out there. Many of the open ranches you could spend the weekend at are either trashed or burned down. Cool video and happy to see you getting the chance to explore that area Nate.

Awesome video!! How cool to have a good tour guide. I saw his video doing the Rubicon Trail. Death Valley is awesome. We did Rhyolite and then an awesome trail south of there into Death Valley called Titus Canyon Rd. It was great. I'm actually working on editing videos from that trip but pretty far behind.
