The CAT phone was designed for contractors and outdoor workers and also had infrared, laser distance measure, compass and was ruggedized, waterproof, but cost about $800 and sold few. Mechanics and heating air contractors use thermal to check for hot spots in engine or exhaust vents. Nice to see Blackview find a niche device. Cheers

I have mine for exactly one month and love it! I'm an air conditioner installer so very handy for me. Size Fits perfectly in my pocket when I'm working Wich is why I didn't want to buy their bigger flir phone or the CAT.

You can put anything inside the microwave without damaging, just don't turn the microwave on...

The Pro model is still kinda pricy but if you go for the regular BV9900 model (8+256) you can get it on AliExpress now for around $330-$350. Considering what it offers, I would say it's actually quite tempting.

Hi Ben nice video as always, a small request from my side to you, I read that Huawei started rolling out its Celia voice assistant, if you could make a video comparing the voice assistants of Huawei, Google, apple(Siri) I think it would be very interesting, I read somewhere that Celia has been very good despite being a late entrant infact lot better than bixby

My sister in-law just contacted me about one of these phones, actually the BV9900e, because she doesn't know how to use the FLIR feature. We're remote, so I can't get my hands on the phone to look - but I would assume that either there is some icon in the camera app that comes installed, or there's a third party application needed to take advantage of it. Does anyone reading this have one of these phones to shed light? @ben, could you explain how to use it?

I owned two blackview phones two or three years ago. This phone was introduced from blackview as the safest phone on the planet at this time. After I used it for some weeks it got a firmware update and they blocked the access to the phone for some reasons. This brand is a no-no for life time for me.

Everyone shows scanning of something relatively close. I'm thinkin of how far does it work, like looking for a downed deer in the woods. Like 20-40 yards in brush. Also, not one person so far has said the measurements, how tall, & how wide? inches, top to bottom, & side to side. it's tough looking for a phone holder/case before i receive it. Not knowing the measurements.(I ordered one). Not knowing if the spec sizes on website are with or without a protective cover, or o diagonal measurement...... Bet the cats, love them drums.

Does it have the air sniffer tho?

seriously thinking about this phone. I'm in automotive and this can be used to help find Shorts in wires or looking into the fuse block. at over heating relays or electrical motors ... Hmmm... Plus hardware wise its the SAME as the newest Doogee and other Rugged phones. Better than paying 600++ for a smartphone that if i drop it once and its broke.

@@imramy Cat phones have a barebones Android experience, like stock with no tweaks, and only a handful of bloatware that you can disable in under a minute of effort. I had the S60.

I dont get texts on mine, I have to open the messaging app and have some one text me then. I will then receive a river of messages and be disappointed I did not see them when they were sent. Its a big problem, the phone feels nice and is quite sturdy, it just sucks at its biggest job; being a phone....

Пользовался продукцией компании blackview много лет,первой моделью для меня в своё время был bv6000plus, затем bv7000plus, и вот с предпродажи были приобретены 2 аппарата bv9900pro... Брал в основном из-за встроенного тепловизора от компании Flir... С момента распаковки обоих аппаратов прошло около двух недель. Водном из них сразу всплыла проблема бракованной основной камеры от Sony 48mp, продавец хитрил, потому я обратился напрямую к компании производителю (Blackview), те тоже долго хитрили, по типу ВОЙДИ В ТЕХНИЧЕСКОЕ МЕНЮ *#87# И ТАМ ОТКАЛИБРУЙ... фигня полная , ничего не помогло... После долгой переписки и предоставленных мною доказательств (фото, видео, принтскрины) , что автофокус в камере не работает, они таки с этим согласились, и посоветовали обратиться к продавцу, ну или на худой конец отправить камеру к ним в РЕМОНТ... Я попросил их прислать мне только камеру на замену, мол я сам поставлю, они долго брыкались, но вроде как согласились, но вот незадача, в отличие от предыдущих моделей blackview которыми я пользовался, данную модель разобрать не так просто , так как крепёжных винтов нет, её склеили как какой-нибудь Самсунг... То есть раньше без проблем можно было менять не дорогие детали самому, а сейчас уже проблема... Прислать видео с объяснением как разобрать телефон они тоже отказались, сославшись на то, что у них ПОКА ЧТО его ещё нет, но при этом неоднократно говоря мне , что это теперь стало ОООЧЕНЬ СЛОЖНО... Далее... Из пяти камер присутствующих на телефоне (фронтальная, задняя(основная), тепловизор, двойная (дуал) и макро) реально воспользоваться только 4мя, так как двойную камеру оказывается невозможно включить программно... Тупость... Сама камера присутствует, в тестовом меню её можно включить и проверить, а вот в меню приложения КАМЕРА опция включения двойной камеры попросту отсутствует, мне целую неделю парили мозг по электронной почте, что нужно включить режим Bokeh (которого тупо нигде нет в этой моделе), после пересыла принтскринов с просьбой указать мне точно, где же эта чудо-кнопка, они мне написали УПССС, А ЭТО ТОЛЬКО В МОДЕЛИ BV9900, А В BV9900PRO такой действительно нет... Что за бред, итог, основная камера бракована, другую вообще включить нельзя, тепловизор и макро камеры специфические и простое фото ими не сделать, остаётся только фронтальная (на которой всё зеркально перевёрнуто)... Жесть, и это мобила за 500$... Идём далее... Тепловизор, штука иногда полезная,но в данной модели он органичен до +400°С больше он показать не способен... Имеет функцию калибровки , но она нифига не работает (проверял на двух разных аппаратах, ерунда полная) картинка самого тепловизора не чёткая (ну да ладно, фиг с этим)... Итог: аппарат своих денег не стоит, цена не оправдана вообще никак, качество blackview начало значительно хромать, телефон разобрать самим стало сильно проблематично, одну из встроенных камер ( а именно ДВОЙНУЮ КАМЕРУ) не возможно включить вообще (возможно потом они это исправят каким-нибудь обновлением, но пока что НИКАК ВООБЩЕ) ОГРОМНОЕ РАЗОЧАРОВАНИЕ ОТ КОМПАНИИ blackview и их изделия... НЕ СОВЕТУЮ БРАТЬ !!! КОМУ НУЖЕН ТЕПЛОВИЗОР БЕРИТЕ cat s61 от caterpillar ну или более дешёвый вариант cat s60 ,а если тепловизор не нужен, то тем более полно других фирм с более качественной и надёжной продукцией, и приемлемыми ценами...

Ok Guys, I have the phone for weeks now. Not unsable, because the Energymanagment kills every app and its notification on standby. You try the optout option from enerymanagment but it makes no difference.......just sucks. No smartwatch connection longer then an hour no whats app notfication after a while, A UPDATE IS VERY NECCESERY (Europe)

Go to settings --> Smart Assist --> DuraSpeed and turn it off. This was what was killing my Gear S3 connection.

Did it come with android 10? Or can be upgraded to it?

I ran across one source that said it won't be upgraded. One source also said 5G and Android 10 coming on next model, but we'll see.

Wow that fat cat on the step looks like those cats in the Asian restaurants thats arms rock back and forth lol. I never thought those things looked like cats until seeing that one on the step just now.

Please, let everyone know that not all the models of this very heavy mobile phone have thermal imaging.

The BV9900 Pro that he's reviewing has thermal imaging. The BV9900 (not Pro) does not have it. The 9900 instead has a wide angle lens and more storage on the phone.

Great review content. I will be looking for a review of the BEST UNDERWATER PHONE WHICH IS UNBREAKABLE and has macro photo capabilities as well. Thank you again. I will be purchasing this one for my sister in a semi care ( mostly dreadful neglect ) facility since she has not had a phone OR ANY COMMUNICATION DEVICE IN 12 YEARS. 2 DAUGHTERS MAKE A 1 MILLION DOLLARS COMBINED AND ARE SO SELFISH they have NEVER SUPPLIED HER with ANY NECESSITIES to be comfortable. I was FINALLY ABLE TO GET IN COMMUNICATION AFTER 12 YEARS as they say that I am not on the list. I live on 700$ a month and have been saving for a year to be able to get a communication device for her. My current phone NOKIA 9 PUREVIEW has NEVER HAD A WORKING CAMERA so I have not captured any of the last 8 years of my life. My Apple and Samsung were stolen by a con man in Utah and I went without a phone for 3 years. He ALSO STOLE my Suburban so there was no way to get to a store.

I don't think you can microwave a phone!

1st day of receipt phone was having multiple defects front camera not working Screen rotation not working G sensor not working Compass not working I'm progressing a full refund plan. Lost paid vat, shipping and time.

@@bensgadgetreviews It sounds like bitrate is really low. I'm listening to it on my headphones. Every other youtube video sounds good. It all started to sound bad with Meizu 17 video. Elephone video was bad, but this one is really horrible. Sibilants are really hurting my ears on this one.
