Man I just love these builds because you film the issues if they show up and everything isn’t flawless. Makes it more fun to watch but also learn something along the way. I do have a question about the water cooling wood thing, is that custom made? I’m looking to learn about water cooling. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I always like leaving my mistakes in the video because it allows people to learn from them. As they say...'You learn from your mistakes, not your sucess' As far as the wood thing, yes thats custom made by me. I bought a wood plank from Home Depot and cut 2 smaller pieces of wood to form a right angle and just nailed them to the bigger board. You can buy a bending kit tho if thats easier, however I dont like those since they arent 100% accurate as my custom board. Hope that helps!

Know what I really like about this video? The mistakes and problems. A lot of times, on other channels, their builds go smooth as silk with zero hiccups. I feel like this is so far from the reality of building your own pc. I have been building pcs for at least 20 years and EVERY time there is some sort of mistake I make or a part that doesn't fit right because the manufacturer goofed up somehow. Every time I watch Ed's videos about building, he reminds me of the way it is supposed to go. His builds turn out terrific and that is why he is so successful - relatability, that is the key. Well done my man!

Hi ED! Nice video as always. I had the same issue with PSU cables but with 5000D. I believe that these towers was made for different mobos with 24-pin connector layed down on the right not facing upwards if you get what I mean. Also 90degree adapter is not an option which I have tried already. If it bothers so much then have to remove that cover and just add 3x extra fans on he side so the cable isn't bent so much.

8:58 Thank you for speaking out about this Ed, I was building my first ever PC yesterday following your full step by step guide. This part of plugging the motherboard cable was SO DAMN ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING, because the design of the case is small, the motherboard cable that came with Corsair power supply is too fat to fit in that hole. I had been working on my pc for a couple of hours. I simply had to stop with the build cause I was gonna break something. Gonna try again later tonight. But please Corsair FFS change that dumbass design of the holes for cables, just do a regular square cutout like other PC's do.

Having built in the 5000D, I knew right away I was gonna be using 10 fans: 6 intake, 4 exhaust, for positive pressure. I took off that cable shield. It made so much of a difference with cable management and getting cables plugged into my Dark Hero. Plus the case looked nicer with those 3 extra fans.

i think if you put the pump combo on the middle fan with the bracket raised enough to clear the 4090, the intakes and outtake of the pump could've been ran above the gpu, and still look pleasing to the eyes, if im wrong let me know!

Ed you could’ve just took the bracket for the pump off of the bottom fan then cut the top half of the bracket, leaving only the two parts of the bracket for holding the pump. Then all you needed was just 3M tape to stick it to the bottom of the case. 😊

One thing I would have done is remove the bracket for the pump and stuck it to the bottom of the case (the pump alone). Another small change is the top fans on the radiator, I would move them to the top of the case (if possible) for the EPS cable to look clean. But overall love the build keep up the good work Ed!😎

I think you could possibly remove the panel on the side and install the radiator with the pump there instead. That will also help your beautiful cable show in a better form. Then bring the fans from the front panel back inside so you can have the mesh filter on it. At the end, install 3 more fans on the top so to keep the hot air out. Hope the information makes sense since English is not my first language. Btw, I love watching all your videos and keep up the good work!

Agree completely about seeing the full process, particularly the actual tight fits and required design trade-offs. Too bad about the angled cables - not something that you can plan for in advance. Maybe take out the Corsair back metal piece OR mod it to allow the 24-pin to feed straight? For v4, certainly get the 4090 a white H2O block and mount it vertically - makes for great runs 🙂.

I uv my 5000D, goregeos case, good airflow and very easy to cable manage. Like you, that shroud covering the 24 pin cable pissed me off to no end. To make matters worse, its a pain in the ass to take off/put back on. Aside from that, still like the case.

water cooling builds are so sexy. I know this is not as easy as it looks to build. So when I see it I always have to say excellent job my friend. Keep doing great content for 2023 and I will continue to push that like button. 🙂

you can put the rad "outside" the case to have more space inside. how it would look from the side Dustfilter - > Radiator -> top of case -> fans.

You could use runs to lower the pump holder and keep the fans internal. _ | | | | | | _ Just affix the pump mount to the steel/aluminium runs. You can probably buy them somewhere, but I'd cut up an old piece of kit you've got lying around.

i can appreciate when ppl trick out their cars or 18wheeler truck or their pc to have a certain theme which turns it into a showpiece but i like mine to be a black nondescript impenetrable monolithic slab of eldritch technology; to me its just 'the box' that stays hidden under the desk. however rgb all the things on top of the desk that im actually looking at and using :D

The cable cover on the inside of the case is removable. One screw in the back holds it in. Then just lift and remove.
