The Pelicans of Central Australia migrate from Lake Eyre & others South for Summer. Some of the younger ones dont make it. But one landed in Coober Pedy the opal mining town. Visiting my Dad we found him. A young male , exhausted in the streets. Locals supplied some fish, they were really cool actually, & then we put him in the trailer behind our car & drove him 600 miles south to Port Augusta. He beat most if his buddies there lol. The local vet took him out to Point Lowly where many congregate in thier way South. Well fed & having an easy trip he was pretty lucky. The funniest thing was when we stopped at Glendambo Roadhouse to refuel & some tourists walked past the cage trailer & he started getting upset,, flapping his wings & snapping his beak at them. They all jumped & screamed. It was obviously totally unexpected. Hysterical reaction, he did it twice on the way down and they're not a small bird. The Great Pelican Rescue of 2014 😁🇦🇺

As kids growing up on a farm, my brothers and I somehow "obtained" an owl. I think it was due to a bad storm, because I remember a hair dryer being involved. We found him/her early in the morning and fed the critter some hamburger. He or she ate it right out of our hands being careful of fingers (Wow! Polite critter!). Never did figure out the gender, but the owl put up with us all day...between naps. They are nocturnal critters. That night, we fed the owl one last time and put it in a cage...and it kept us up all night. Next morning we got it out of the cage and fed it one last time as it sat on the porch rail. And yes...we gave it water whenever we fed it. Then one of my brothers picked it up and held it up over his head...and the critter squawked and took off. We'd see it once in a while and it would squawk as it flew over...but I guess the critter was getting enough to eat, because it never stopped to visit. Probably thinking it didn't want to spend another night in a cage.

Theres a pair of owls that follow my dog and I throughout the village when ever on a walk. Only see them for a month or so, and then their gone, but its happened for 3 years in a row now.

Don't let your guard down. I lost a cat to our friendly neighborhood owl. You've been fine for a few years, but they could just be playing the long game. You might start to notice valuables missing, then one day come home to a litter of flying puppies with an unemployed father who won't help around the house and stays out all night because "I'm nocturnal, man. That's just who I am." Suuuuure. Yep, same old story. I've seen it a hundred times.

Usually what happens is they get caught in a storm or wind and end up getting pushed out to sea and/or wind is too strong for them to get back
This is the type of wholesome thing the world needs more of.
At this point I would pay an undisclosed amount of money to learn how he got the owl off the fishing pole and into his towel.

Probably too tired to flap away and probably was a bit wet. Probably caught a wind stream a little too long and realized it had gone over the ocean too late.

Amazing rescue.

Lived in Louisiana, aboard a boat. One day my hubby went to the back of the boat, not realizing a pelican was chilling on our swim deck…until it swung up and took a swipe at him with its beak. Scared the bejeesus out of him😂.
When the owl winks after they said they were taking him home hahahah so cute
He looks so happy to be held and know he’s being given a ride home!
The music! The wholesomeness! There’s hope for future generations ❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌
That's is what a compassionate human does.
Owl be sure to bring extra minnows next time for my lil birdy friend, cause you bet your butt Brett that 🦉 will never forget their kindness, 😊 I hope their ancestors can go to that spot for eons and that owl and it's family will remember them what a heartfelt memory that would be 💪🏻🐺👍🏻♥️🫀🫶🏻

Isn't amazing that animals know to go to humans when they're in a pinch, that they know these humans would understand them and help them, and you can tell, they put their trust in the humans that they find. And most of the time, humans does not disappoint. 🥰
He looks so comfy and warm in the towel 😂❤
It was so sweet how they just tried to get him back to the wild first chance they got. I always worry that people wanna keep animals for themselves
He had the talons on his bare hands???!!! That's the most gentle owl on earth.
Cant believe how relaxed it was, clearly good hearted men ❤❤

Love this. He must have been so tired he was so chilled out.
So genuine and heartwarming
As someone who has had pet owls I will warn you: The talons of an owl are very sharp and they have very sensitive parts on there paws that feel hearth beats, they pinch harder and harder burying there talons into your hands for as long as they feel your hearth beat, Even small owls can be pretty powerful so be careful when handling them
Good to see this video again, it's a real heartwarmer.
That little hoot was so freakin Chill❤😎
That owl straight winked at the camera😂
Huge smile! Thank you😀
I love these men!!! thank you for helping the owl!!
I have truly lost all hope for humanity, I believe we are totally screwed..... then I see something like this and my cold, dead heart beats a little bit again. Good job young gentlemen!!
The reason it's so important they rescued him is that owls are one of the only birds without waterproof wings so if he fell in the water he wouldn't be able to fly.
You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals. Empathy is what separates good people from bad.
It's crazy how wild animals go from not being nice around humans to being completely chill and let the humans help them. It's like they truly understand
Loving the ultimate bro energy ❤
Maybe the owl was on its way to deliver a message to Hogwarts and these guys intercepted it . Dumbledore is not going to like this.😂
I rescued a cute little horned barn owl. I like to think if something is in need of help and you're willing to pay attention, that's the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Good people.
Owl- "What the hell? I was going to the other side!"
I LOVE owls man they are just like the coolest birds
Honestly I'd love to hang with Brett. She seems so go with the flow and fun. I'd love if you had a meet and greet. Come to Fort Lauderdale please 🙏
