This ONE simple mod can transform the Traxxas TRX-6? (suspension mod)
Ойын-сауық
The Traxxas TRX-6 is a top tier RC crawler in whatever form you run it, but there's always room for improvement. With this one simple suspension mod we are hoping we can transform that top tier rc crawler and make the TRX-6 a god tier crawler!

@@RCunexttuesday it turns out that it's a bit trickier to implement on a 4wd. Got to think smart on this one. Maybe I'll leave it 😂

I'm a mod, and I know I should know better....... BUT That's fucking brilliant! That is the dogs danglies guys. Definitely gives the rear some weight bias when hanging, coming down hill. Uphill climb can only be improved by having your tyre on the ground. What a mod 👍

haha, we'll let you off😂 It seems more stable entering a descent and exiting a climb. Looking at refining it but we're well impressed with how its worked this far. Theoretically could benefit having the middle wheels function in the same way, may give it a test, IDK

@@RCunexttuesday oh you know your doing the middle track as well. It should take the wheel away from the rear set, stop them touching. Try bushings I heard you say bearings bushing are cost effective for the job it's doing. And that naughty word was well placed and used for good effect.
@RCunexttuesday

We're thinking about turning the key around, would lie the shock down slightly and allow it to pivot away from the middle wheel. Good shout, once we figure out what the plan is we'll look at bushings to smoothen the motion🤟🏼
Now THAT, is flippin brilliant ! My mate got one of these recently, I will send him a link to your vid.

Thanks Leg End, we're looking at refining it now!
I have a trx6 g63 with 120mm shocks, long arm kit widened on 12mm hex. Installed the keys on both rear axles (flipped for more travel and stock location return). Flex is freaking unreal at 8 1/2"😊 There are issues with rear driveshaft seperation and torque twist... working these issues out though. May be less an issue with stock shocks. Unstoppable on the rocks. Thanks for the inspiration guys❤
Cantilever system idea is off the rails!!!! Billy's idea is proof even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile!😂 Just amazing! Always a pleasure an thanks for the info! "Well done Lads" Right On 💪

Update on those? Any improvements or did you abandon it all together? I love the idea. Flex blades on 1/24th scale rigs are pretty, but can hurt you descending. You’ve got to have a limit strap. There’s got to be a reason a set isn’t commercially available. And it’s probably because they don’t work well without crazy amounts of tuning. Thanks

Still running them, actually looking at installing them on the middle axle. We've seen solid pivots linking the rear two axles but they're unnecessarily expensive and these keys are the most practical and similar method of achieving the same results

hello! hey i did something similar on my hauler. Just found your video, you beat me to it by a long way. But i limit the axle droop with a chain , which means no binding. Same side to side rock, but less down travel as a pair. Nice work guys!!! hreat looking rig btw 👍🍺🇬🇧

Looks interesting but would be nice watch the same spots with a stock or locked lever to watch the difference in the performance.But i will try your trick on my Reely Free Men 6x6 maybe it works better than my stock suspension.

That's killer. Lots of pros to that mod. Have you found any cons at all? Using bearings or bushings for the levers? Any binding or twist at the lever when a tire gets jammed? Very sweet guys👍

It's not the smoothest but it does the job. As far as cons go that would be it👍
Have you guys considered that mod on both rear axles? I bet the middle would be trickier to mod but if both rear axles had that mod I bet it would be insane! Well done guys!

We have toyed with the idea, like you said it would be a lot trickier to do, I think we'd go a different direction with it if we attempted to mod the middle axle. Possibility, that's for sure!
Did you Velcro has body mount or a other technique?

That's an interesting issue. We were thinking of adding the mod to the middle axle too, might take a bit of fabrication/modification... How do you mean over extending?
@metroduplic8r5
4 ай бұрын
@@RCunexttuesday since the rear drive shaft can only be a certain length when fitting it in. If there’s too much droop the drive shaft will over extend and come apart. So I had to abandon it cause I couldn’t fix that issue.

You can get a 3d printed version for both rear axles, pretty expensive and not easy to find. Get a shock key set. Cheap as chips and easy to install, we've only got it on the rear set but have debated with more!

Hey Chloe! Glad to hear you're looking after them still😅 see you the weekend👍
or can just increase the spring tension on the middle axle? which also decreases turning circle W with it free moving like that you are losing traction from rear axle in normal driving ,just moving it forward to middle axle.Did same as yours on the mn landrover. needs another shock on other end of the key be a proper cantilever system.

Everything is a trade off. We're looking to improve flex and the number of wheels on the ground at any one time, it's a truck that's expected to have a large turning circle anyway. Long vehicles always are

@@RCunexttuesday but when it is just dangling down , there is no pressure on it as the top of the shock is free floating?

Only entering into a decline, the weight sits at the front of the truck. On an incline the weight sits at the back of the truck. If you watch when it's working you can see lugs gripping, it's not a perfect system but it undoubtedly improves upon having the wheel floating as with the stock suspension
