since the dawn of gaming homebrew continues to carry the weight. The first game ever was a homebrew invention(console of sorts) to allow interactivity in a vacuum tube it was electrical but still physical in nature, the first true game was homebrew for a heart monitor. Mods are the descendants to homebrew. They have changed form but continue to carry the duty.

Thats ok. It probly never will. I think Bethesda like all the other insatiably greedy game makers is trying to steer players away from games you buy once and have full access to, in favor of online games and micro transactions. If you look at the elder scrolls main releases: Morrowind 2002, Oblivion 2006, Skyrim 2011, you can see they were pretty consistent in releases. But now it has been 11 years since skyrim first came out, and nothing but additions for skyrim and ESO since. And if you look at whats been released in the past few years it is ALL ESO. l)J

I have tried Deadly Shadows in the past and enjoyed it. I have also tried EVGAT just after it first came out when it had been implemented into just a few places and thought it was a mod that had a HUGE potential. Now it sounds like that potential is starting to manifest. I have a love for sneaky thieves and adventurers, and it looks like it's time to re-visit EVGAT again! I'm still waiting for someone to create a mod where your secret thief identity will start to be known in the form of wanted posters placed in cities you have pulled capers in, and as you venture around Skyrim you will start to hear people talking about the mysterious thief who "just confounded the guards in a certain city and who cannot be caught". That would be awesome!

Recently, in one of the interviews about Starfield, Todd Howard admitted that integrating ladders into their games was still a problem for BGS due to limitations in the Creation Engine. Keep in mind this is the Creation 2 engine that he's actually talking about. Yet, in 2023, amateur modders, many without any real game development experience, are still implementing mechanics into Skyrim that the devs thought to be impossible. I love the human spirit.

Looks great, although I wonder if it's compatible with Skyrim VR. The animations would either not play, or would look kind of like your first-person VRIK body getting up from being ragdolled. (If you haven't played it, your hand and head positions are defined by the VR equipment in real-space, so your body is all twisted and distorted until you finish standing up and your avatar realigns with your body.) But VR players could benefit from the added navigation options, squeezing between bars, etc.

I would gladly make use of these additions but I'm afraid that as more and more patches for various locations appear they will start to conflict with each other. My playthroughs are usually long (0,5-1 year or longer) so it requires carefully choosing mods to include not to have a problem with compatibility in a future.
