This One Is For You (My Last Video)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Thank you for growing up with me over the last 10+ years. We made magic together and being a part of your story has been a profound honor. Thank you for letting me into your homes, your lives and your hearts. I love you. ❤️️
As I close this chapter, I want to leave you with a few people who I think not only represent the future of our collective wellness, but embody it on a daily basis. I encourage you to intentionally invest in their work and give them the love and support you've shown me.
NITIKA CHOPRA - Nitika is the founder of Chronicon and a fierce advocate for the chronic illness community. Through her work, she has created a space for people to feel seen and held when they've often spent many years not being believed by others. I'm so lucky to not only count her as a friend but to know the feeling of that BIG friendship love through her. You can find Nitika on Instagram @nitikachopra and sign up for her newsletter here: www.chronicon.co/
RACHEL RODGERS - Rachel is an IP lawyer and business coach. Her business, Hello Seven helps women scale their businesses to seven figures. I love that she has a holistic approach to money - she doesn't just share tips, she gets you working on the emotional side of money which I've found often gets ignored. But as I've found on my financial journey, how I feel about money and how I interact with money are inextricably tied. If we want to be financially healthy, we have to look at the whole picture and Rachel helps people to do that. I'm currently subscribed to her newsletter and I'm loving it. You can find Rachel's podcast, newsletter and learn more about her services here: helloseven.co/
KOMAL MINHAS - Komal is a cancer survivor and resilience educator who I met several years ago in LA when we were both selected as part of Oprah's SuperSoul 100. Komal is the definition of what it means to live with your whole heart. She regularly talks about the things that most people would rather avoid. By just being herself, she's teaching us how to not just be with our own pain, but how to hold others, fully and completely in theirs too. You can find Komal on Instagram @komalminhas. She also has a podcast called Lessons Learned and a newsletter that you can find here: komal.com/about-komal
NICOLE CARDOZA - Nicole is committed to a world where wellness is accessible for everyone. I discovered her more recently through my friend, Nitika (above) and have been loving her work. The beauty and wellness industries have distorted our view of what it means to be well (overwhelmingly catering to thin, wealthy, straight white women without disabilities or chronic conditions) and Nicole is dismantling that. Through Yoga Foster, she brings low-cost mindfulness practices to educators and students. She's also the founder of Reclamation Ventures, a fund that invests in underestimated entrepreneurs. You can find Nicole on Instagram @nicolecardoza and learn more about here work here: www.nicoleacardoza.com/
2021 UPDATE: As I mentioned in this video, I'm no longer posting videos on KZread... but I ended up figuring out my next chapter! At the end of 2020 I opened an indie scent studio with my partner. It's completely self-funded and we are loving the experience of running a small business together. We focus on slow-made, handcrafted candles with distinct fragrances - I make each one with my own hands! You can currently find me + my work in these places:

Most people here say they've grown up with you. I guess I've grown "old" with you. I'm a 60 year old person that has followed you for years. I worked in a male dominated field and being an introverted person I didn't go out a lot on my days off. I had boyfriends but I alway felt like I was disappointing to them. Too plain. Too practical. I liked clothes but i didn't have confidence in styling them. I liked makeup but, as ridiculous as it sounds, I had no idea how to use it. So, I was a 50 year -old person watching your videos because I like you and what you did here. I learned things and enjoyed myself. Thank you and may this next chapter be a beautiful one for you.

If you ever read this, thank you for all your years on YT, Ingrid. You will be remembered for your kindness, love, and genuine spirit. You gave people a truly joyous space to escape when the real world got too much. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. It's only now hitting me that because KZread and making a living on it is so relatively new, we don't know what the average longevity of a "KZreadr" career is. We might be seeing many of the original KZreadrs start to leave and go in different directions because they've outgrown this career, maybe some of them will want to start a family and choose a more convenient career path. It's fascinating to me to think about this, about all of us discovering the longevity of this kind of career together. Heartbreaking, because we're saying goodbye to content creators we grew up with, but fascinating.

I don't think it's about 'growing up', I think it's about moving away from a platform that has turned toxic. Back in the day KZread was mostly not toxic, the hate comments were not as frequent or outlandish, and people felt a community on YT. I am not saying it was a utopia, but it was much better than it is now.

I was here when you cut your hair short, went to the White House, moved to New York, when you came out. And I want to thank you, for letting all of us, but me specifically into your life. You have been an inspiration to me, and even though it hurts to let go of this, I will always be happy that I've found you. That I have grown with you. Your videos made me happy when I was so miserable in my last years of high school. I'll still try to keep up with you on other platforms. I hate what youtube has become now, we focus on the same youtubers that talk more about drama than makeup. The world has become cancel culture. We will miss you but thank you so much for the memories and the iconic, simplistic, era. EDIT: yes I know theres still tons of unproblematic beauty gurus I just wanted to reference back to the main youtubers of the era & the nostalgia, now everyone we have watched has grown in their own ways and i’m so proud of them all, but in my opinion nothing current day will top 2010-2013 beauty youtube! Got get them Ingrid! You got me through a rape, PTSD, my first job, meeting my husband, doing my makeup for my wedding, choosing a career, growing as a professional, growing as a step-mom, coming out to my husband and my stepkids and my parents and my friends. Here I am about to turn 31. I turned to you because I needed advice on how to dress for my first job and how to put on makeup on my mixed race Latin skin. You were the only video maker I found who had skin color that almost resembled mine. You got me through so much. You gave so much. Even with all the pain you were in. I speak about periods with confidence; I try to normalize periods in my home because of YOU! You are a big part of who I am and we’ve never even met. I will cheer you on from afar just as you cheered me on. Thank you immensely from the bottom of my heart. You taught me how to try to love myself again while the PTSD kept telling me that I should just give up and die. My gratitude is immeasurable. You’re part of the reason why I’m still here, why I’m on vacation today typing this from my own cell, on a King bed, snuggling my pup hearing my stepson play fortnite down the hallway. You saved me. Thank you. -Erika P

I was struggling with severe anxiety and depression and was afraid to leave the house when I found your videos. I watched your Revlon Lip Butter review and decided I wanted to go out and purchase one. You gave me a reason to leave the house and I will forever be grateful for that, because you helped me gain the confidence to step out into the world again. I unsubscribed a few years ago when I felt like I had “grown out” of your content, but happily resubscribed when you starting showing your true, authentic self and posting more than beauty videos and hauls. Your growth has been the most authentic I’ve seen on KZread and I’m so glad to have witnessed it. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, for this community, and most importantly, for yourself.

SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Mose (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He is the Atoning Offering for mankind for the remission of sin ( 1 John 2:1-2). He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). If you believe the Messiah died on the cross, & Resurrected three days later (presenting Himself as First Fruits to the Father), please ask Him to be your Savior. He is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life.

"We found each other." Yes we did Ingrid. You were one of the first creators I followed on the platform, yep, since those missglamorazzi days, then it came thegridmonster, the Vlogmas's that I used to look forward every year. Your content was a light when life got dark, you were there. Thank you for making me question myself and bring awareness about important topics, for teaching us and bringing us into your interests with the best information. I don't even know how to put into words everything "Ingrid Nilsen" meant to my development and growth on the internet. I just really want to give you a huuuge, ginourmous and eternal THANK YOU. English is not my first language, but a word I learned from you and that I always remember you with is THRIVE, so that is what I wish for your live, to thrive and be happy. I love you, Ingrid, we've never met, I always wanted to meet you, actually, I never could, but thank you, really, thank you. All my love. 💖

Ingrid, we literally have the same story. I’m half Honduran (mom), half white (dad). My grandma moved in with us when I was a baby. I always struggled with the not white enough/not Latin enough. I’m gay. My dad passed when I was 7 from a stroke in the middle of dinner and I was with him while my mom called 911 and he passed away. I was numb after that. I went from being a happy kid to depressed, life pulled out from underneath me. Lots of trauma thrown in shortly after for years. I tried to be as invisible as possible for years after that and still see aspects of it today, 20+ years later. It’s insane how that stuff stays with you and molds you into who you are. I totally get that. I send you peace and so much healing girl, it’s a day to day path to you loving you. Hugs. Go be happy.

This is insane, Cancel culture is poison and has ruined youtube. People should be allowed controversial or adverse opinion w/o being called names. That’s when I found your channel and this community that I didn’t know existed. Although I’m certain that a 30 something mom wasn’t your target demographic, I subscribed and followed so many of your tutorials and recommendations. Congratulations on your next Chapter in life Ingrid. As someone who is several decades your senior, I can tell you that the best is yet to come in life. Life is what you make it. Stay positive and don't let others define you. Follow that inner voice and take everything life deals you with a grain of salt. I don't know if you are a religious person, but I can tell you from personal experience, knowing that you are a child of God will help you understand that you are never alone in life. You are always loved and protected. That inner voice you refer to may just be your guardian angle guiding you to your next level of happiness and watching over you. If you haven't already, find a church in your area and you may discover a whole new world of love, compassion and happiness. God Bless.

Losing a parent within a blink of an eye is probably the hardest thing that someone can ever go through. I wasn’t even able to say goodbye to him, and it just sucks. I think what helps is knowing that he is in a better place now, and I know one day I will see him again 🤍

I've put off watching this and now I'm crying. I've been watching you since 2010 when I was 10 and I'm turning 20 tomorrow. Half my life was spent with knowing you and idolizing you. Thank you for being my biggest, longest most influential role model.

I learned English because of you, I’m from Argentina and I needed to know what you were saying. I’ve been watching you since Missglamorazzi and when Luke used to do your make up. It’s been crazy. I’m so grateful for you. Thank you and I wish you all the best

This is so heartbreaking. Your video showed up on my feed and i clicked on it thinking "OMG, I MISS HER!" (i've watched you on and off for years) I'm sat here crying now. Thank you for sharing your story as a mixed race person. I can relate to feeling that same way when I was younger for having tanned skin. You're so beautiful inside and out. i'm so sad to hear this is your last video. You are so strong and a fighter. We love you Ingrid.

Ingrid, thank you so much for sharing your story. ❤️ I lost my father in high school, as well, and I can fully relate to you in that way. The lies, the hurt, the pain.I have been watching you for 6 years and I’m so happy stumbled upon you one day while looking for eyeshadow. I bought pretty much every makeup item you wore, and tried to mimic your “routines” you would post. I always wanted to be you. So kind, pretty, smart, funny. I realized while watching you, I was already those things. 🥰 You are truly an amazing woman, and I’m so happy that I had you in my life as I was growing into adulthood, and working through my grief of losing my dad. You have deserved every bit of success in your life! And you deserve so much more, and so much happiness. I will miss you SO much! 🥰 Much love to you and your beautiful soul! I cannot wait to see what your future has in store for you. It’s going to be wonderful!
