I totally disagree yes He knew He was sick had issues with his health but I do not think He knew He was going to die!!! My Personal Opinion - Vernon had NO IDEA With His 1978 Good Housekeeping Article - Vernon said Elvis had just had a Checkup with Dr Nick His Blood Pressure was high his sugar was elevated but nothing that couldn't be helped with medications etc -- Dr. Nick said he went into cardiac arrest from constipation and straining was too much on his heart - He called it something and I googled it and people do die straining on the toilet - In March 77 Elvis felt GREAT -- Was In Hawaii With Ginger Her Sister - Joe Esposito his GF Billy & Jo Smith there were 30 of them!!! He was playing football google the photos

In the interview that Baz Lurhman did with Sam Bell the Black neighbor and childhood friend. Sam said all the kids would be playing around on the baseball field and young boy Elvis would be up on the bleachers alone staring at the sky. Sam said Elvis was a dreamer, who had big dreams that actually came true. Sam and Elvis were pals till the family moved to Memphis.

He talked to her parents and ask if the would allow her to go to a Dr he knew. And he talked to the doctor and told him what ever it took to let her see to do it. And he would pay for it all and she did get to see for the first time. Elvis visited her in the hospital and she got to see. That the man no one tells about

IMO…. The reason is solely on Tom Parker! He was so afraid of EP finding out how badly he was mismanaged after 1958. EP should have had spots on Laugh in and the tonight show, etc. That’s how you get your new single releases instantly to the people in those days. “Andreas” aka Parker had too much to lose if EP wasn’t so isolated from the music business. Much less going over seas because Andreas van kujik (Parker) was illegally in this country. Don’t get me started on Parker’s gambling debts in Vegas. Sorry for the rambling. Cheers from Texas! 👑✌️

Elvis was a very special person to have the effect he does on so many people even those born years after his passing. I believe Graceland still holds his essence and every time I visit there I see something new. I'm enriched for having witnessed his life and always enriched when I hear him sing or see him perform. Estelle was right, we were all touched by an angel named Elvis.

Elvis had moments where he was just having fun, but then, there are times like this, so eloquently expressed in song, that the contemplative side came to the forefront. Elvis thought and felt deeply, and the part where he is sitting quietly, hand to mouth, looking somewhat sad and lonely, gets me every time. Watching him having to be helped off-stage is heartbreaking. Knowing it isn't possible, but just wanting to wrap him up and give him some comfort. Going to Graceland was so special, and I look forward to going again when I can. It does make the songs, especially like this one, hit differently, and it's making my eyes water again. Love to Ray, the family and all the Vibe Gang. KP

All that can be said of any man or woman, for that matter, is that he or she did the best they could with the gifts God gave me. Elvis certainly made God proud. He was talented and shared that talent with millions. He was generous, almost to a fault, he was humble, he never thought he was better than anyone else. He honored his Maker when he sang his Gospel music. Finally, he loved his neighbor as himself, which is a very hard thing to do sometimes. The King Forever.❤❤❤❤

THANK YOU MISS POPE FOR THIS ONE 💖💜💖💜💖💜💖💜 THANK YOU RAY AS ALWAYS FOR YOUR LOVELY & THOUGHTFUL RELVIS REACTIONS 💙💐💙💐💙💐💙💐 Alright so: Got 🎬Double Trouble🎬 Elvis Extras! (Nothing to do with the movie). First Up: "I'm Leavin'" (partial article): Watching Elvis sing I'm Leavin' in concert, biographer WA Harbinson wrote: 'If he sings of the spirit, he imbues it with the flesh, if he sings of desire he speaks of love. 'Who will I find to lie beside me?' he sings and the words, which are simple, which are quite simply desolate, are filled with the tragedy, with the crystalline grief of a flesh that might never be touched. 'Leavin' me lonely', he adds and the last word is a killer, a knife through all hope, a common word transformed to pure poetry by its tone of delivery'. The song's unusual blend of quiet horror, utter weariness, inexorable sadness and subtle rebuke is a tribute to the craft of Jarrett who, as he revealed in an interview created the song on a 12-string guitar in the LA home of his old friend Sonny Charles. Jarrett had given up life on the road to write and record his own songs and was shocked to hear his girlfriend ask: 'What if your songs aren't good enough?' Realising they didn't share the same dream, they went their separate ways: the girl stayed in Portland, Jarrett headed for LA where - still haunted by his failed marriage and angry at his girlfriend's lack of faith - he wrote I'm Leavin'. Apart from kickstarting the brainstorming session that produced the bridge, Charles' major contribution was to suggest the song's unusual structure. This unforgettable ballad begins with a repeated refrain of 'la la la', segues into the two short verses and reaches an anguished crescendo with the bridge before fading out by returning to the first refrain. This unorthodox arrangement is the making of the song - it would be far less compelling if it built to the traditional big finish. The singer/narrator is confronting the emptiness of his life and, as impassioned as he becomes when conveying the agony of 'living from day to day, chasing a dream', he knows his reflections will resolve nothing. He is leaving but no matter who lies beside him, the emptiness will never be eased. You can see why, struggling with the song in a fabulously productive session in RCA's Studio B in Nashville in May 1971, Elvis remarked: 'Phew man it's tough. But the thing is worth working on'. He likes the song so much he changes the inflection in his voice. As it starts, he leads the vocal ensemble setting the scene with the 'la la la' refrain but as the verses start, his voice deepens and he is more recognisably Elvis as he asks the terrible questions: 'Where will I go? Who will I have to lie beside me?' Here his voice is almost naked, stripped of the mannerisms his impersonators have made careers out of, yet rich with emotion. There is no histrionic overstatement here - the desolation mounts in the middle of the second verse but the shift in his tone is slight and telling. As the tempo accelerates, building to the emotional and vocal climax of the bridge, the mood is of impassioned regret and bafflement - for all the singer's efforts he just can't make it. And then as the drums signal a shift to a gentler rhythm, Elvis' voice swoops beautifully to the resigned pathos of I'm leavin''. The beautiful interplay between Elvis and the backing singers, the subtle guitar work, the melancholic keyboards and the soft, yet relentless precision of Kenneth Buttery's drumming create an unforgettable sound as distinctive, in its way, as the sound Chips Moman created at the Memphis sessions. He returned to I'm Leavin' relatively frequently in concert - memorably in Las Vegas in 1974 and Huntsville, Alabama in 1975 - and usually showed care and commitment as he tried to get the mood right. 2nd Up- For Miss Candie (found the article I was talking of 🎶Yesterday🎶): Holiday On Ice Company' Visiting at Elvis Home March 12 and 13, 1960 Memphis Press Scimitar. March 14, 1960 Elvis Presley is playing host to the Holiday on Ice company today at his home. Buses were to leave the Hotel Claridge at 2:30, carrying the entire company to Graceland to spend the afternoon. The singer visited the show again last night at Ellis Auditorium and spent most of the time backstage. He climbed up to the elevated bandstand where Conductor Ben Stabler let him wield his lighted baton for a moment over the 17-piece band. Later he hugged the matronly wardrobe women and told them they had all don 'a great job'. Elvis was kept busy signing autographs and posing for pictures for members of the company. He wore a white open-neck shirt and dark suit. Deaf Children Meet Elvis Elvis Presley fans know no boundaries - recognize no handicaps. Saturday night Elvis made the world of four youngsters a brighter place when he left a houseful of guests to come and greet four youngsters, who are students at the Arkansas School for the Deaf. Flecher Davis, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Davis of West Memphis; Shirley Varner, 13, foster daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lopez of Memphis; Philis Roberson, 15, of Stuttgart, Ark., and Betty Penington, also 15, of Benton, Ark., drove out to Graceland to have a look at the home of Elvis. 'The children had no idea of seeing Elvis', said Mrs. Davis', in fact, we warned them that they couldn't. We drove the children out about 9 p.m.. And then we saw one of Elvis' cousins, Wayne Presley, whom we met in West Memphis last summer. He recognized us and said he would go inside and explain the situation to Elvis'. 'When Elvis' uncle, Travis Smith, called us out of a line of some 30 cars and motioned us inside the gate you could have heard our children squealing and the other disappointed fans moaning a mile away. Elvis is a warm hearted and thoughtful young man. He came bounding out of the front door of his home looking handsome in a dark suit and a white shirt. He kissed the girls on the cheeks and they stood like rag dolls vowing to never wash their faces again. He shook hands and thanked us for bringing the children to see him'. Mrs. Davis says the children are deaf but not mute, and that some even have partial hearing. Contrary to popular notion, deaf children love music. They feel the vibrations and even dance in their stocking feet to feel the vibration of the music more keenly. Last year the Davis family donated a juke box and several albums. Elvis And Friends When Elvis Presley visited backstage at Holiday On Ice on December 26, 1958, he renewed several acquaintances he made the previous year when he saw the show in Frankfurt, Germany. There are four different Holiday companies around the world, but five members of the troupe now in Memphis were in the company Elvis saw in Germany. And that is it Ray & Elvis Knights/ Vibe Gang! That's all I've got! TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕

Oh Miss Sammy - you never disappoint! I always learn something new from you. I can just see Elvis at Graceland talking to the little deaf children and their chaperones. I grew up next to one of the two deaf schools in my state, and silent, they are not. I think if "Make a Wish" had been around in the 60s and 70s, Elvis would have been flooded with wishes. As it was, he responded when he became aware. The evocative sadness in this song makes me so thoughtful of Elvis and his essential loneliness. It makes me think that if I could have, I would have Elvis head in my lap, just stroking his head, maybe a gentle massage, and just humming this song. Oh man, here cone the tears again. Thank you Sammy - no wonder everyone says you're the best. Much love to you and yours. KP

The experience is so personal...and emotional....it is hard to be with him at his grave and then have to say goodbye.... I'm sure he would have preferred to be allowed to lead a more normal life, yet in reality he was maybe the most famous person on earth. In spite of the incredible legacy he created, he was capable of so much more. Such a shame that he didn't live longer.

It's completely changed since 2006. The old plaza center across the street is gone and replaced with a massive 200,000 sq ft museum complex. They also have a 5 star hotel called the Guest House at Graceland next to the home. They're planning more new things to be added soon. One is a recording studio that Elvis had planned to build.

Ray I really understand how you feel about Elvis the man the human being. I have been to Graceland 3 times and I want to go again. Something just makes me want to go back and feel the essence of Elvis. So pleased you finally made it to Graceland and I really enjoy your reactions from the UK

The shot of Limo from behind is incredibly melancholy. That was a time when I wondered where the heck was Elvis?? I knew he was doing Vegas but other than that he was invisible. He would sell out every arena he performed at but Back east in NYC there was never any news stories about Elvis shows or anything. In the early 70's there was no Internet no smartphones, tablets etc. to instantly find out where Elvis was performing like today. Bendicíones Ray

Was it maybe just a NY press bias against him? He was on magazine covers every month, newspaper stories constantly and had dj’s talking about his tours. That is an interesting perspective. Maybe NY was different - the rest of the country sure knew about what he was doing then. Maybe you just weren’t in the right places?

I read the newspapers everyday and literally can remember any articles about Elvis. I think NYC and East cost probably thought he was so yesterday while the rest of the country covered him.

Vibe I think his look in the limo was more of Where do I go from here in a very unsure way. He looked sad like he was reflecting about his life and career. He could have been a little bored with life & his insecurities about his relevance. I sent you this video many many months ago and I told you that it's going to hit you like a ton of bricks. In the beginning of the video he look like he was very tired backstage and trying to gather his strength to do another show.

In this sequence of pictures of Elvis in the back of the car leaving the show crossing the bridge, I see his little grin which I think he is pleased with his performance, then I see the "off in the distance" gaze which I think he is planning what comes next. He once said he was lonely even more when he was in a crowd. I love the editing on this video. I always cry when I hear this song. I think his voice reveals his pain so clearly. We remember you, Elvis, and we love you..still. (Judy C.)

"I'm Leavin'" was released as a single in 1971. When I was a child, I remember buying it at a department store called "Gaylords" in Columbus Georgia. Even at the age of 10, I knew this song was special. It's been my number 2 all time favorite recording Elvis did. Unfortunately top 40 radio didn't think much of it. It only reached #36 on the Top 100. Should have been top 5 in my opinion. My #1 all time favorite Elvis recording is from 1975, T-R-O-U-B-L-E. Another overlooked single that top 40 radio brushed off. You need to react to it kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqmEms6hgtfXpqg.html

I'm so tired of hearing about Elvis never wrote any songs, what does that matter, are the songs not great because he never wrote them himself? Elvis did not write any songs, unless he actually co wrote the song: The Letter by Wayne Newton... Can anyone say that Elvis did not make any song even better, I doubt that, am I wrong, did Elvis not make any song better? If I'm right then please stop talking about that he never wrote a song, he sang over 800 songs and made them much better then anyone else ever could, that is my opinion on that matter !! Ray, I hope you are doing well and had plenty of nice feelings and of course many happy ones from visiting Graceland, take care my friend, best greetings from Sweden.

oh, I can't remember if I shared this video with you already or not, if I have pls forgive my foggy brain, lol... If I haven't then I think you would really like it. As I think you know Elvis and Tom Jones were great friends all through Tom's career, he looked at Elvis as not only a close friend but as a mentor as well. This song is so haunting, gave me chills its called Elvis Presley Blues kzread.info/dash/bejne/iJyT1Ld_oc7Xg6g.htmlsi=f6ZoLYfZyZpPBYYO
