Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

We've got a new snake discovered you already know I have to cover it. You might also be surprised that I'm not a month late to a discovery for month but hey we adapt.
Now despite being new it was originally discovered in 2004, but was described as a new genus and species of madtsoiid snake.
Presenting the newest contender for the world's largest snake that was discovered in India: vasuki indicus

Vasuki and Sheshnaag are the most powerful snakes. Follower of Lord shiva consider Vasuki as the most powerful snake while Follower of Lord vishnu consider Sheshnaag as the most powerful snake Since lord vishnu rest on Sheshnaag, it is said Sheshnaag bears the weight of the entire cosmos.Coming to Snake Vasuki, he is known as the king of all snakes. Note that Vasuki was chosen for the churning of the ocean in which all deities and demons were pulling snake vasuki with their full strength in tug of war game.During the churning, Poison (halahal) was released form the mouth of Vasuki. This halahal was so powerful and harmful that it could have killed all living beings in the entire cosmos.Only Lord shiva was able to save the universe by consuming all the poison.Snakes (Nagas) have been a part of worship in Hinduism from the very beginning. The most famous myth of Lord Shiva’s association with snakes is when he drinks the poison from Snake Vasuki’s mouth during the churning of ocean to obtain amrit (immortals potion) later . From that day, Lord Shiva becomes blue throated and is called Nilakantha (god with blue neck ). Why does lord Shiva wear snake around his neck? Answer -> It is said the serpent on Shiva’s neck represent the endless cycle of birth and regeneration It is also said that the snake three rounds around Lord Shiva's neck depicts future, present and past. That states that Lord Shiva is Independent of Time and controls time He is known as Pasupathinath, which means "lord of all animals and creatures ", Since snake is feared by most of us,and society not accepting it exploiting it , is that the reason he wears them around his neck? May be yes There is a story that when the snake species were in endangered, they approach Lord Shiva for Shelter. Lord Shiva gave them shelter by letting them stay in Kailasa. But due to cold weather, the snakes used to approach Lord Shiva for warmth of Body. Thus, He as a protector used to wore these snakes as ornament to provide warmth. Vasuki surrendered to shiva, by yogic control the naga clan learned to convert poison (venom) and turned into diamond (mani). the heat from poison in shiva's throat is again channeled into body of vasuki. Likewise there are other snakes that form anklets and bracelets of shiva out of respect. In same way anata sesha bears the burden of earth on his hood and also bears vishnu. This anata is none other than patanjali yogi who tansformed into snake for sake of lord vishnu.

Vasuki is an extinct genus of madtsoiid snake from the Middle Eocene Naredi Formation of India. The genus contains a single species, V. indicus, known from several vertebrae. Vasuki has an estimated body length between 10.9-15.2 m (36-50 ft), making it the largest known madtsoiid. The upper bounds of the length estimates would make Vasuki the longest snake ever discovered.

It seems to me that since Titanoboa had larger vertebrae than Vasuki it was a stockier animal, so it may be the case that while Vasuki was LONGER than Titanoboa, it wasn't more MASSIVE, not reaching the same 2500 pounds that Titanoboa might have reached.

@@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 something like that, and the comparison is apt because Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus are related but from different phylogenetic families, just like Vasuki and Titanoboa. Vasuki is from a more basal family of snakes called madtsoians, whereas Titanoboa is as its name suggests a member of the family including Boas and Anacondas and since apparently it was likely semi-aquatic, it was probably also an Anaconda and not a Boa contrary to its name, meaning it had water to support more bulk and unlike sea snakes wouldn't be subject to much predation so wouldn't have much reason to be nimble.
