Happy birthday, got my Kershaw Auto 17 yesterday on my bday, ordered from your site. Great channel and I love seeing all of the different knives and your observations, the main reason I got the auto. I'm getting 8 knuckles replaced this year, having trouble opening most of my knives so the auto is perfect.

Kershaw did a blade similar to this years ago (model 1730- RJ Martin design), in 14C28N steel...but the grooves went vertical, not horizontal. Pretty, but it didn't cut very well, even after sharpening. What I'm saying is - I don't have good experience with grooves on a blade. I hope this is different

I like this alot! It takes what I like about the grismo norseman and puts it in a package that doesn't look so damn awkward and doesn't cost $1000. I might have to pick one up! Did you spinewhack test the lock? Having never gotten a knife from these guys I'd be curious how robust the lock construction is because just like the norseman this thing's design looks like it's begging to be put to hard use.

Dremel moto tool with the cutoff wheel,,, tada, a couple minor grooves and traction on the flipper. And, that clip with the exposed screws gives some grab traction when tucked into the waistband.

Happy Birthday. I really like the knife. Seems like it’s selling as 154cm on blade ops. I would like to see this knife in the $250 range. Pocket clip is so ugly and gonna have to take it apart to sharpen it. Other than that I think it’s pretty awesome. Maybe up the steel and I’ll pay $300 lol

Companies HAVE TO START giving us properly done sharpening choils. Not hitting that flipper is going to slow the the sharpening down significantly having to be overly cautious to not make contact. Companies need to hire a sharpener to check the knife out before production to make sure the sharpening choil is good. Companies just ain't making knives with sharpening/use in mind and that's something that needs to stop!!!!!

I have a tendency, apparently, to gravitate to popular knives, for which parts are readily available, e.g. Spyderco and Hinderer. I like them largely because I can mess with them, and if I break or lose something, I can get replacements! What made me think of that is that this knife has a sub-standard clip; are there any alternatives to be found, anywhere in the market? Maybe not! I also like the fact that these knives (the few I continue to collect) have a lot of aftermarket scales and other parts to dress them up (or down, as the case may be). I LOVE customizing my knives (easy, bolt-on customization so far)! For example, right now I have 17 Spyderco Para 3s in front of me, all dramatically different! I have them in about 10 different, terrific steels, and handles of Ti, Cu, brass, Micarta and Ultem, with and without geared backspacers, several colors of hardware and all with deep-carry pocket clips! All are, dare I say, better than they were in G-10. I have tuned all of them so they fly open and drop shut, in most cases perfectly. Who needs anything else? I DO welcome new knives, of course, especially if they are exceptionally good, or good deals, but I am cutting back my collecting. There are just too (expletive deleted) many of them!

Nice knife. The flipper tab looks bulky and a bit pointy. The clip is awful for even a $100 knife much less $299 and it needs a better sharpening choil. I think the maker should work on a V2 correcting some of the issues then I would be interested for sure. Thanks for showing new knife companies!

i like it, it could use a little refining which im sure will happen over time so i think the maker is doing incredible work, and the price is not to bad considering. there are some little things that could make it better but its a good knife regardless the flipper is a little uncomfortable with such a strong detent but its super snappy which i do like

That clip looks like it was made by a pre-teen with 3 minutes of instructions, a bench vice and meant for a handle that is an inch longer. Yikes. Everything else looks ok though, maybe the handle coating looks too thick. Sorry but for the price, I don't care where a knife is made. Bang for the buck, this isn't worth $300 to me when compared to what's out there.

  • @andyhayward1261

Tbph that thing is ugly as hell to me. The way the aluminium has been milled and coated makes it look (at least on video) like injection mold plastic. And given the materials the 299 price tag just doesn’t work. I know. I know. It’s USA made. That’s a large part of the cost. But to convince someone who isn’t from the states to pay extra for this it would have to have some serious personality and wow factor
