This new ski binding is going to change your life.

Ойын-сауық

Here at the Out of Collective one of our main goals is to be on the front lines of new technology within the ski industry. And today is one of those days where we are stoked up to bring you a first look into the new ski binding changing the way people interact with and use ski gear. DIN? Never heard of it. Forward pressure? Not needed. And still better than a telemark binding.
Obviously, this is a joke, sorry you had to read this far to figure that out.

The releasable binding has stopped countless injuries over the years. I think I read somewhere that the year they became standard there was a 40% reduction in ski injuries. Which begs the question, why hasn’t the snowboard industry learned from this? It’s like snowboard tech is stuck in the 90s. In fact, I still have a snowboard I bought in 97, it’s virtually identical in construction, tech and design to a brand new board from today. Whereas skis have changed dramatically in that same time period.

I disagree with the tech because the camber and sidecut options in todays snowboards from 97 has increased 10 fold and it was exactly those different camber and sidecut options that have changed the landscape into the skiing world forever. Rocker, Camber, Rocker...etc. At any rate you have a point because TI doesn't exist in the snowboard world which is surprising.

@@robertsmatt3356 When referring to tech I was specifically talking about ratchet bindings like he’s showing here. Also soft boots might be comfortable for walking to the bar but they don’t do much for responsiveness. Ski boots like many things in sports are stiff for a reason, it increases responsiveness. That being said I mostly agree with you. Tech and pressure from snowboarding was the best thing to happen to skiing.

That is about as bad as the Nava Skiing System binding from the 80's.

Just like Allsop and BURT bindings. It will only last a few years. And after that, ski shops won't touch them anymore. I hardly ski anymore. So I buy my boots and rent demo skis these days. That way, I don't have to keep buying new bindings.
