I wish the classes weren't tier list based, this probably will make the design of later classes extremely unbalanced to low tier ones, not to mention everyone expecting the new more expensive class to be better than the last one instead of being a game where everyone is trying to be equal like Smash Bros.

I agree with some parts such as tide slicer, flourish, and the last move. However, you missed out on a lot of details. Flourish and Slicer both fling near ledges, Flourish can be set up for tide, Boxer is literally a pitch perfect class to counter Kraken so using it as an example is a bit wonky. You also missed that cannonball if shot at close range only flings them to the left, not in front. This creates awkward moments where you fling someone far with cannon but its to the left and so they easily get back onto the map. For a big EXPLOSION move it kinda sucks at knocking people off. As for the balance changes I do not see any issues with most of them. Ninja and Bandit could be the worst ones.

Flourish and slicer fling near edges but that’s only if you get them on a ledge, 99% of the time flourish will NEVER fling, while tide slicer is a pretty ok move for flinging Canon shot has 2 hitboxes, when it shoots the ball and when the ball actually explodes, it’s wonky but you can work how it shoots by looking down, right, left, or up on ground or in the air CANONBALL sucks, it only extends when below 30% but if your fast enough you can do flourish > canonball, not true tho Tide slicer is so weird, people can m1 through it, it needs to be like an actual grab

the flourish is similar to a thing in rogue lineage where a class called ronin has a move called triple slash which requires you to look away on the last hit to not knock people back, and said class is viable and good

tbh there are some things that i would like to talk about and also somethings i agree on. Yes the dread flourish is bad, my opinion of it is that it should be a finisher, but the flick combo extend should be kept so its like the rogue's thousand cuts you can knockback but you can also dont if you think its a better idea. The other thing that JustSouth didnt talk about is that cannonball is cancelable, this allows you to play mind games with your opponent. Jump at them so they dash away and try to punish you during the endlag then punish that by blocking the m1 and starting your own combo, bait counters, use as mobility tool, heck even, if your a god at timing its possible to do the stun and get 0 endlag of the move which allow you to stun if you hit but still not get punished when you miss. Overall the only problem with kranken with what i see is the Dread flourish not being a finisher and tide slicer being janky. other than that id say the characters a 8/10

they should give tide slicer an effect like boxer's combo punch where it drags the opponent along with you if you land the first hit

the combo tools being inconsistent with only a *chance* of working is a shockingly similar case to metal bat in strongest battlegrounds

1 make dread flourish make knock back or make it a combo extender 2 make tide slicer unescapable

tbh I think this is one of the best and one of the most fun classes

Tbh i think that that should be the norm for every class, what made me quit this game was people who would just spam the same combo over and over again until you get expelled of the map, which isnt fun, the early weeks of the game were the funniest because there werent really combos, people would just use random moves to deal bit by bit of dmg to you, now people barely really use skills at all and keep everything hostage to use on their combo that is at least going to put you on about 70%

all they really need to chance imo is switch the pre guided path for the 1st ability with the damage depended 1st hit from its 4th ability then its fine ( other then that this class has not much to do with a kraken other then the canon, couldve just called it Pirate Captain or sum like that sins its just a pirate moveset )

I love project smash but I just find it so fucking annoying with the power creep because around when boxer got its rework I thought it was completely fair when it’s competing against classes that have already built in spikes (that could easily kill you at 70% if your playing a class with no recovery like Viking) such as Valkyrie and Samurai. It’s just crazy how progressively more and more with each character it just adds in more spikes with each move set requiring less and less skill with the best example of this starting from Samurai (you just need to do the move that brings you up into the air and down spikes them into the ground or blast zone then do your own manual spike) to Valkyrie (She’s a bit more “balanced” in terms of having a straight set up to a guaranteed kill with a spike all cause you actually need to do a combo reliably to land the spike) and finally wizard (he takes literally no skill with a combo extend that’s instant with no wind up and goes through block WITH range/chasing capabilities from last time i played) Overall even though i know my opinion is entirely subjective and no one should care, it’s just so infuriating to see that slowly over time that having a already built in spike for a move set for a character or an entire combo that guarantees a spike at the end with no counter play whatsoever (not just complete counter play because I still do believe if you landed a combo you should still obviously be rewarded for landing a combo in the first place) just pisses me off because this will start to become the new norm of having more and more progressively powerful spikes or movesets with powerful set ups into already built in spikes

It’s op here’s a combo (cannonball part only works at below 30%) 3 m1 cannonball 3m1 tide slicer 3m1 dread flourish tech (The one you did) 3 m1 cannonshot

It's not even if it's good or bad, the class overall is genuinely underwhelming and had a lot of potential to make something cool, they just added sword attacks and cannon attacks. That's basically just a pirate moveset. Nothing speaks "Kraken" in this class whatsoever. I can agree that the design is awesome and the visual effects are on point but other then that the class is lacking a lot.

And just like south said, people have high expectations for a smash-bros like game and especially because the classes range from lower to high prices, and tiers as well. So it really doesn't make any sense why Kraken is dissapointing, I'm very dissatisfied with this class and I had high hopes, hopefully they rework it or make change because this class needs buffs/changes/something that speaks "Kraken".

I have used this class for like a while now (went from 4000 to 5100 kills with this class in the span of 8 hours, help me) and ive got to say that this class is really fucking mid but great at the same time. The class on paper is meh with your only good moves being your 2nd and 4th move, but heres the thing, this class is stupidly fucking good in a weird way. Now the best thing that his class got is the recovery rate being able to survive 250% or lower knockback, and that is very important, the reason being that this class is an edge gaurding god and since your near the edge expect to be knockbacked off alot. Now how is this class a so called "edge gaurding god" you may ask? Well its the fact that your 4th and 1st move can potentially 1 shot and your 2nd moves air variant has huge knockback with your 3rd being great for ground mobility or general crowd control. Your 4th move can 1 shot if you land the 2nd hit when their knockbacked by the 1st hit when their off the ledge, but what if their percentage is high? That is where the first move comes in, the 1st move has enough knockback for it to be the almost perfect distance to land the 2nd hit of your 4th for another potential 1 shot, and let me tell you that this in public servers is way more reliable then you think it is. Overall, i had fun with this class like alot, your best bet when playing this class is saving your moves and camp near the edges of the map for potential free kills if your good enough. My rating for this class is 7.8/10, it is still pretty mid but overall very fun.

as a kraken main watching this is painful. kraken is VERY good and idk why people say its bad. dread flourish is a combo extender you just turn away dash back forward and you can extend and its your fault for not putting in the effort to do that. it also has 0 end lag and you can act out before the move is even complete the final hit. making it very hard to punish. Allows you to stall in their air for so long to the point where kraken can recover from 250% reliabily Tide slicer i agree does sometimes just not work but when it does its busted. the huge distance allows you to easily carry people on the edge of the stage where knockback moves are most effective, anjd if you time it properly you can just get a free stomp after the last hit on the ledge at any percentage and nothing the enemy can do. its also busted as a recovery tool clearing so much distance. Cannon ball ill cut you some slack with this since i dont expect people to know this, but its one of the best kill moves as you can angle the attack at the head and when the ball is fired it actually knocks people at the worst angle possible (straight downard) meaning it obilderates any bad class at low percentages and soon after kills classes with recoveries at low percentages around 100-120% which is amazing against C tier classes. its also a great move to just fire for no reason. Cannon jumpo has a well known 0-death combo that im surprised you didnt know about, where you can kill someone from 0 after landing 3 m1s and then using the ability of stage and psiking them to the ground. Cannon ball is a great approach option and you can cancel it to trick opponents that they can punish you with the end lag after landing it. its also good for recovering and edge guarding as the spike is incredibly storng.
