Yeah, and it also changes all the money it touches into diamonds i think? Which are worth more, just like how salem turns all items into silver trinkets which aren’t necessarily better but still pretty good.

Kinda reminds me of the reaper in Persona which also spawns when you stay too long in a floor

It really reminds me of the ghost from Spelunky. It spawns if you take too long on the floor and insta-kills you, but if you bait it to float on top of gold, they turn into gems, which are more valuable.

I think Angel Items are (were) protected from Salem. There was some animation popping off

Reminds me of the ghost from spelunky that shows up after too much time is spent in a level, and can do this thing people call “ghosting” where when the ghost goes over gems on the ground they turn into ghost gems, making them much more valuable.

Idk if you ever played spelunky but this reminds me a lot on how the ghost works in that game, really great game, highily reccomend it

Salem kinda reminds me of the Wanderer from Moonlighter, who appears after spending a little too much time in a dungeon floor (He's a big green monster who instakills you on touch. Not exactly like Salem, but very similar I think)

That Danny Phantom reference caught me out of the blue lmao, that was hilarious. Also for that Womb 1 floor, he didn't actually guess correctly, he was just lucky crystal key proc'd and opened a red room to a secret room that happened to be close to the boss. From the looks on the map, I guess the boss room was supposed to be on the right side. There was some interesting plays you could've done, like if you rerolled an item and it's mid + you don't have any more rerolls, for example when you rerolled PJs into Matchbook, you can wait for Salem to spawn and get a potentially powerful trinket instead

Matt the scatting at the end was pretty cool ngl

Salem reminds me of the Lord Of The Jammed from Enter The Gungeon, just the idea of an immortal threat that pursues you throughout the whole floor i guess lol Edit: i should mention however that lord of the jammed isnt tied to taking too long but rather when you reach a certain level of curse (curse being a unique mechanic in enter the gungeon)

Following Matt's advice on not giving up on a run lead me to completing my final completion mark on T-Lost which was mother ended up getting poly-brime that run

This gives me a challenge idea involving Salem, you would set the Salem timer to 0 so he'd instantly spawn each floor, which also means all items would just be gulped trinkets which could be interesting.

That would just be a trinket only run with a Dark Esau constantly on your tail. There are already a few trinket focused mods/characters so I don't think it'll be too interesting
