I think this car will be more successful than we think. Let's see, Mercedes doesn't just sell cars to fanatical people like us who are watching this video, in fact the majority of buyers of this car will be successful businessmen who want to have a sports car that looks good, is pleasant to drive and will not ruin the bank account (as the price will be almost half of the v8), and in that matter I think the GT43 checks all of the boxes

A 4cylinder AMG GT will have no market and will be a flop. At this price point most buyers will opt for the (v8) 53 and 63 versions

Assuming a new 43 is $115K a 1-year-old car will probably be around $90K, at that price the 43 makes sense.

This would be my dream car

55 not 53. 53 is only ever a 6 cylinder 55 harks back to the old 5.5 V8

thats crazy. Still could be fun though (not like I'm gonnabe able to afford it anytime soon anyways)

nice gt m8 give it a rev , oh 😂 45s is meant to have 4 pot and does its job perfectly, but in the c63 , gt, and the glc is just not right and when they put a v6 in the e63 yes its better but it wont sell like the c63, gt and glc, seems like merc are going in the wrong direction which is a shame 😢

What about the torque specs?

The Straight 6 would have been a better choice..IMHO.

With less weight from motor and no front diff this would drive awesome. I think its a good move. Its just another option anyway

No matter how much power can be squeezed out of a 4 cylinder, it will never have the sound and presence of a V8. The V8 is an easy win.

Having just purchased a V8 I agree :) The high powered 4 cylinders are fun in their own way.

A four cylinder AMG GT? NAH !

all down to the emissions laws being forced on the car manufacturers, 22% of all cars sold must be so called "green" in 2024

Mercedes are getting it wrong far too often , no sales of the C63 worldwide, CLE53 going to be a better seller than the CLE63 and now a GT43 without a V6 !! doesn't fit well with me but then Porsche did alright with 716 etc in sales terms

@@ABAUTOAMG You are not kidding, I’d rather have the CLA 45 which is priced about right, i can’t see many people spending that amount of money on a 4 pot even though its a great engine anything over 80k in my opinion needs a 3 litre 6 cylinder. It’s a nice looking car but its not the V8 and to be fair the V8 is 170k which is a lot of money.

Yeah but you have to look at the M4, that assault on the eyes is as bad as the sound of a single cylinder is on the ears.

@@gottliebdee263 Prrsonally I like the 4M it’s grown on me, blistering quick and great options, more colours to choose from but you are no doubt charged by BMW. Love the look of this Mercedes for sure but for me I wouldn’t pay over 100k uk for this.

In Australia, $100k AUD just gets a C300.
