@8:00, my impression when I saw this bit of the film was that there were some cells still living, so they used those still-living cells to recreate the rest of the body, they did not really create a new living body from scratch

🙂👍❤ A lot of religions would consider it "blasphemy" for a machine to create life from nothing. I hope somebody tells them that Leelo wasn't made from "nothing". The cells were still alive. The machine just made more of them quicker than a normal body could. 👍🙂❤

Been waiting for y'all to watch this. Excellent film. Bruce Willis is in Pulp Fiction by Quinton Tarantino and he's in Armageddon too. Both excellent films. He's in RED (Retired and Extremely Dangerous) which is one of the best films too. Bruce Willis has a long acting career and he's good in all of his films.

If you are curious, the language she speaks is called the "divine language" and was created by Luc Besson, the director. He and Mila (Leeloo) would have conversations in that language during the filmation to make it easier for her to learn. Also, happy new year! ❤

8:03 I think this one was very important to merit separate post. We actually have the potential to make a whole human body like this. Not now but the abilities are unlock-able. DNA has the blueprints to all life, they dictate how you are created in birth and how you continue to change as you grow. If we can somehow learn how to recreate this and correctly piece cell after cell in the correct way, it is possible to make a true living body. Now whether that human being created has a soul, something impossible to know how to insert and much less recreate is another story entirely. So in summary, we have the potential to recreate humans but whether they have souls dips into religion and philosophy which science could never recreate.

26:57 the music is from the Opera Lucia de Lammermoor”. A very demanding aria, made even more demanding in the movie due to the technology used to emphasize the non-human aspect of the Diva and her freakish vocal range. It is a sad aria, Lucia’s brother forces her to marry a man she doesn’t love instead of her true love, Edgardo. She goes insane in her wedding night. (KZread won’t let me explain what happened on the wedding night). In the song, she’s imagining that shes at the altar, marrying Edgardo. She also sees the ghost of her dead ancestor and her husband. Maria Callas and Joanne Sutherland are my favorite interpreters of the aria. It can be found in KZread under “Lucia de Lammermoor’s Mad Scene”.

We can make working human body parts, like hearts and livers, from single cells right now. They recently bioengineered a nose and an ear from human genetic material that could be grafted onto a person. We can create human life from invetrofertilization using egg and sperm, and that particular skill was developed decades ago, so science fiction is rapidly becoming reality.

They are not making a human or even humanoid alien being. They use pieces of tissue left from the battle to replicate cells enough of the patient to reconstruct parts of the body. Different.

3:30 “it’s a robot or an alien?” I have three ideas of what it could be. 1: biomechanics. It’s a robot with the mind of a living being, its mechanics working like a living being. 2: cyborg. It is both flesh and machine, machine grafted into flesh to empower it or overcome some weakness. 3: that is an Enviro suit. It can’t survive in our environment so they use a suit to survive in it as if living in their own. For better understanding think of us and Radiation suits, scuba gear or space suits. 7:43 I don’t know why but black light makes white colors glow. 19:40 “why are her hands black” with all that smog and dirt, the walls would be VERY dirty.

We aren't able to create life in a lab yet but we can make a framework that your stem cells can grow replacement organs on and we can grow a human ear on the back of a mouse. Skipping the philosophical debate of can we create life or will it have a soul if we do this example was rebuilding the damaged parts of s living being. We probably won't be able to ressurect the dead but we will be able to bring people back from states that we were sure would have been the end in prior days. I doubt we'll ever be able to resurect someone from their hand especially not while preserving memories and thoughts at least not without some kind of uploaded or downloaded mind stored elsewhere
