No. struggling Americans thinks that it's a waste of taxpayers money. It's predicted that there won't be any social security for folks of my generation once we've retire, but we're spending BILLIONS of taxpayers monies traveling to space. We haven't figure out how to get along with each other DOWN HERE yet, and we're going to figure out a way to make it work UP THERE? GET REAL!!!

This take me back when I was 10 years old. I am happy for NASA space program. It is so good to be alive , and see America move forward, bring hope of space travel to young people again.

Just what security clearance will a special master have to review classified documents???

“ Living on Another Planet ?” I just wish that they could give equal effort to trying to save the one we currently live upon. With all the Tough Guy Posturing that I see between the countries on OUR planet, I fear that its only a matter of time before we turn our home into ( One Big Chernobyl Nuclear ) Uninhabitable Zone. It would be more practical to live on the bottom of the Ocean….. than Mars

If we have that attitude we will never get anything accomplished. Period. You will never have a perfect Earth, Humanity will always have issues like hunger and disease and war...etc. Every discovery we have made, any advancements we have made have been done while some of the world is suffering. So actually shame on you thinking the world needs to completely stop doing other things because you think something else is more important.

As they speak of traveling to Mars, it reminds me so much of Star Trek. Actually, much of that science fiction technology has been actualized.

I was thinking the same thing. There was really no hype until recently to get NASA back in the news and back into space. NASA was basically canceled during thr Obama administration and unfunded during the Trump administration despite the bluster about Space Force. And now they are using aged hardware and equipment instead of partnering with the private sector with a DOJ contract. It is also odd that they are trying tonrush a launch right when the weather is known to start getting bad in the SE US. Fall storms and the start of Hurricane season.

"Space! The final frontier!" Just imagine how many lives we could help and save here in America with the billions of dollars that we're going to waste traveling to the Moon and beyond? We're traveling to the stars and there's Americans who still don't have medical coverage, and who are dying from illness.

There are only a handful of countries that have a space program, even fewer that can travel with people to the moon or Mars....Maybe three countries. Can you tell me how much better the 192 countries are doing without a space program? Earth will eventually be unhospitable and humanity must go out into space to find another home.....but hey, that's the next generations problem right? Or you are correct, we could spend billions of dollars providing medical care and vaccines for a world pandemic......to people who don't want to take that help.
