In Canada they jam indigenous facts into our mind in history class so I knew immediately that pine tree represented the howdenoshaunee the tree represents how the nations were brought together and found peace by burying their weapons beneath the roots of a pine tree.

New England has a pine tree on it's multiple flag designs as well

In Iroquois legend, the confederacy was formed when all the tribes of the confederacy put there weapons under a great pine tree and peace was achieved (overly simplified, look it up though, great legend) so the pine tree and the 4 flags might symbolize peace among them (as historically they all fought and were enemies)

That's a cool idea! Maybe you could talk (or write) to your city's mayor or city council members to see if they like the idea too, then maybe talk to your local newspaper or public library about starting a flag contest. I've never tried it myself before, but that might be one way to do it. :)

Do you have a Nepalese flag from there and if so, how is it? The picture they have looks like it's really distorted and out of proportion, but the "special event" flags, which seem like they should be pretty much the same thing, look a lot better. Does yours look in proportion or is it stretched out like their picture? (I'm not from Nepal, I just like their flag)

Rico van Goozen it was the southern colony of British Cameroon. Cameroon used to be German up to WW1 when it was partitioned between France and the UK, the last one getting a tiny strip of land. They divided it into north and south Cameroon. The southern part chose to join former French Cameroon when they got Independence, but the north remained in Nigeria.

I'm not saying that Catalonian is wrong, but as a Spanish native speaker, it sounds really bad to me. I would always use the word Catalan not only for the language, but also for the people and everything related to Catalonia.

Despues de todo lo que hizo ETA no se como teneis tan poca vergüenza... Y lo peor de todo es que una independencia no seria bueno ni para vosotros ya que perderiais basicamente vuestro estatus actual economico que por cierto es la puta polla.
