I heard a story that was with Robin Williams once. They were walking along and some guys noticed him and yelled out "hey Mork". Now this was several years after Mork from Ork had gone off air and he had starred in multiple movies including Good morning Vietnam. The guy that was with him was surprised that the fans had mentioned that character. Robin told him that was common, because tv is in peoples living rooms every week. You become part of their lives. KZread, for me, has replaced sitcoms on TV. I've watched y'all on and off for several years and as silly as it is I feel like I know y'all. I'm very envious of your bravery to tackle all the things you have done and also happy that you've got to experience such great things and still bring us along on your journey. Thanks for bringing entertainment and inspiration to many of your viewers!

So many memories of my first voyage into Vancouver in 1968 and so many more since, all avoiding the flotsam some 20 feet plus. I have been following you both since you started your voyage with your $100 purchase and I have so much admiration for your enthusiasm and endurance given the tasks you both inherited. The coolest feeling ever. When I was quite a small child I was out fishing in the sound with my dad and grandpa, and an Orca came out of the water right next to our little 16-foot wooden boat, not a troller like you are on, and breached splashing us all. He was literally bigger than the boat we were in! I will never forget it. For a brief moment in time, I was literally staring this Orca in the eye. I always felt like he/she/it had come up out of the water to check us out. I see them every time I am out on the water in areas where they live.

That's some really beautiful scenery. Totally worth all the itchy fiberglass.

Usually motor boating doesn't interest me. You guys are suitably engaging in what you share, and clearlt work hard, thank you. The excitement in seeing the Orcas makes it understandable.

I got to say i watch all the sailing channels but it all started when your $1 boat buy popped up on my too watch feed since then i watch all the sailing channels but it started with Tula's Endless summer i wait all week for your adventures and you got me saveing for my own boat, before i watched your channel i was just rotting sat in my gaming chair watching KZread all day but now i feel i have a purpse in my life now you sparked something in me and for that i am forever grateful Thankyou , it might sound stupid but i was slowly dying in front of my monitor gaining wight, but now im planning everything i need and i have energy i can't explain what you've done for me Thankyou to the both of you. 💯🤙🤙🐬🐬

Yep...my son lives near, & ferries daily through the Puget sound, he's been blessed with Orca sighting as well!!!! Great job filming, thanks so much for all you two do!!! Brought another tear to my eye.... God bless you all!! Jetty RULES!!!!

I'm so, so happy for you kids to be able to be out there enjoying the well earned fruits of your arduous labor. You're very much an inspiration and show that yes it can be done as long as you are fit enough and have the determination to see it through. Sadly my age and overall health are at a point that it's now to late for me but I love that you inspire so many others to at least try. As Collin says at the beginning of his videos, "You'll regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did, so what are you waiting for"... As an old man I can attest to just how true and accurate that statement is, sadly it's to late now for me because there are no do overs when it comes to the passage of time. I guess what I'm trying to say is please don't end up like me and just do it, make it happen before it's to late and no longer an option for you no matter what that "it" is... The thing about Orcas is that I have seen them in parts of the world where I least expected them to be. However, seeing them in the wild NEVER gets old.

Way, way coooooooool!!!! Orcas are an amazing beast but I will never see one in the wild as I do not travel overseas yet I get the next best thing.....watching you two going nutso over them and that to me is a great thing. PS: am loving your travels :)

Looking good there, guys! May Day, as a distress call, originates from the French for "help me", "Aidez moi' or "M`Aidez". Transmitted as a verbal equivalent of the Morse distress S.O.S. It is the highest level of distress calls. Next level down is "Pan Pan Pan'' which is for emergency calls. Example an engine failure, although it starts off as an emergency it could move up to a MayDay call. Security calls are for unknown floating objects, waterborne hazards or liferafts. You could do a Security call for those logs but as they are a common hazard in those waters , people would soon tell you to knock it off! All calls are repeated three times with each call.

You did a great job on the boat! She is stunning looking. I take back what I said early on when you first got her that she would be a money pit. Just like it should apply on land, the "non-aggression principle" should apply on the ocean. No human has a right to force another human against their will to subject themselves to a potentially harmful medical procedure. The more boating enthusiasts that submit to govt. required unproven untested medical procedures, the more Mayday calls they'll be hearing. All anyone needs to do is see the thousands of athletes that were forced to take it that have keeled over while playing their sport to realize this. If you know what is good for you, do not submit to testing involving invasive internal probing or injections. Again, no person has a right to force another person to do anything harmful to themselves or others.

I've followed you since the first day and I'm very happy to see you are finally heading to new adventures. I hope to be still alive for when your cat arrives and watch those adventures also. Thanks for all these years, I've been without sailboats for many years now due to health but these videos are just incredible to watch.

It's so special that you got to see the Orca's up here in my stomping grounds. You are getting to see what I grew up with. And as you explore here you may get to see even larger pods than this. I've seen 25 at a time. Now you need to catch a salmon and a halibut. Oysters, clams, muscles, crabs and abound here. Yes Billy, our Mighty Fraser river dumps tons of debris into the Gulf of Georgia (Salish Sea) soon you must be always on watch. Just after you showed the mayday, that high bluff on your right is where the University of of B.C. is and at years base if that bluff is our largest nude beach called Wreck beach.

An adventure to be sure, fondest memories of a passage in the oposite direction under sail. Very best wishes ....."we cannot control the tides, currents nor wind ours is to but mind the helm and keep the ground tackle ready"

Welcome to the most beautiful cruising area I've ever been. So many anchorages, so little time.

I cant wait for you guys to get back to the east coast and hopefully see yall hit the Bahamas again. After watching yall for years, to me, the Bahamas was yalls happy place. And I am looking forward to more boat life, day to day almost, that yall use to video a lot. the trips and days on all the islands seemed more laid back and peaceful to me. I know it must be tough filming all the time. And wnen does the new home show up? I cant wait.

We see killer whales in Southeast Alaska quite often. It never gets old! I lived on a trawler style boat in Juneau for many years. Watching your videos brings back a lot of memories. Have fun!

You guys are back in the sun by now for sure but I saw the picture swinging on the wall and thought, “ Oh, they have no clue!” . The Pacific Coast, the straights and Puget Sound are no joke! They can be calm but holy crap they can be brutal! BTW, the double stick Velcro strips are fab for holding every thing in place. Pictures, cushions. And Quake Putty for things on counters and tables. So glad you finally saw the Orcas! We had a very close encounter in the straights off San Juan Island. Going all around and under our boats. For a good half hour. Something I have never forgotten!

Yahoo I'm loving this, but Billy get up on the flybridge mate, ur in Canadian waters those logs are in their thousands especially the ones they call dead heads they float length ways down so u only see the top, that is if their not floating just under the surface, their the ones that take out ur prop or rudder ok. Sierra u are so contagious with ur smile and happy disposition, I'm grinning along with u both. Is that family in the support vessel? What u have done for this grand lady is really special, she is cruising so nicely, not heavy in the bow or stern, I'm just so proud of u both love from 🇦🇺🌈🐕 oh and slow down what r u doing like 12knts

Welcome to my world. Last time I saw that view of Lion's Gate bridge was leaving Vancouver in 1998 on a 29-day sail to Hawaii - lots of dead calm mid-Pacific.

Congrats on making it to Vancouver Canada I am somewhat familiar with the waters around there. Have you checked out Indian Arm some of the deepest waters inland where we sea tested new ROV's made for the US Navy.

just wow! Just amazing lucky charms adventure with this trawller starting with grape vineyards Napa Valley boat yard, than the Sausalito boatyard for emergency water pump repairs. Just short of a miracle calm seas off the coast of the Great Northwest Pacific. Leaving the Port Townsend boating community and onto the magical San Juan Island doing dungeness crabbing, big game fishing, hope Billie catches once in a life time 400lbs halibut. You all may never want to leave the Pacific NW. $3000 fuel tanks refills trip from SF GG Bay area to Olympia Rain Forrest while looking back a year from now on the new sailing catamaran "that $3000 would have lasted the whole summer sailing" lol. small price to pay to be on a beautiful sea going trawler short of a yaht once in a lifetime Pacific Great NW adventures you all are sharing Cheers

We make noise, our ambitions are admirable on this journey of life, but the best moments along the way our small, solitary and quiet in my belief. For an instance we see all our efforts for what they are, necessities of our own choice, but we are what we are and it is what it is. We are small in this world but we think big and when we trim to the breeze that there is and not the breeze, there ought to be, the wind will always bring us home.

That is one beautiful boat. Very cool that you brought it back to its glory.

Pretty cool to see and hear your excitement of seeing the Orca's. Still think ya gonna miss this boat some.

Hey Guys.... Heard one MayDay Fourth Of July when departing Loyd Harbor North Shore of Long Island back in late the 90's heading out after Amazing Fireworks from 180 degrees from each town Northport, Huntington, Loyd Harbor, and Oyster Bay what a great spot ...however rocky North Shore heading out and Hundreds of Boats of every size and Type. We Caught a Nice Lobster and Large Flounder and bbq on the boat. Where we anchored behind was a huge mansion with a huge party and live band great spot for us... I had just a little 22.5' Searay fast 350 Mercurser we were out of Kings Park Bluff and need to get back there..and the smoke was filling the air from the 180 degrees of fireworks having gone off for hours and I was like okay so how am I getting out of here...? I followed out the wake of a large Cabin Curser and had VHF on and I hear this MayDay, MayDay, MayDay desperate call and Coast Guard responded with all vessels' notices I am listing intently and they ask this captain what type of vessel and GPS , Souls on board...Capitan comes back with 35 foot something and 6 people several injured and bleeding, we are going down we hit rocks full stop and we are sinking no GPS not working, finally, the guy /Capitan describes his visual location and gets GPS back gives the numbers and a Commercial Fishing Boat comes back I know where he is, and heading there now ETA was like 20-minutes and that was it... it was quite the feeling for me and my wife and to be praying for them, they were on the Connecticut side of the Sound, it was something I will never forget. Rule one on the North Shore, Long Island Sound Stay in the middle! Billy tell your Dad I said hello I was talking with him a while back about buying a boat he had in the yard for a Floating Kitchen I was planning.

I saw Mountain Mist on AIS near Montague Harbour several months ago and about 1 mile away also on AIS was a vessel names Tula.

I am from Canada and I know where you are and you are in one of the most beautiful places in the world right now. I live in California now but my home is BC Canada

Congratulations on being able to finally enjoy the fruits of your labor. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you transform this cheap well worn boat. Once easy take away from all your efforts hows that you can only complete a project like this if you are willing and able to put in an immense amount of hard work and you must posses a good bit of understanding of all the unique systems a boat has. If I do a quick calculation and figure that you were both working at least 50 hours a week (times 2) that is 430 hours of labor per month, for a total of around 3,440 hours in 8 months to get the boat to where it is now. If you have to pay a professional to this type of work $100 per hour would not be unusual (some jobs less, some jobs more). That's around $344,000 in labor. That doesn't include all the parts and paint supplies. Again, kudos for the monster effort. Enjoy your maiden voyage with your newly restored boat.

I’ve never seen an orca in the wild but I have seen gray whales. It is VERY exciting and I could feel your joy! I wish everyone appreciated our whale brothers and sisters so much that they didn’t require our protection.
