This Might Not End Well

This Might Not End Well .......is not an understatement ! Everything about this swarm catch is going against me. Late in the day call, I can't get them the next day, temps are dropping and its going to freeze tonight. I could have but didn't bring the Colorado Bee Vac which was a big mistake. And cold bees don't move!
Here we are at it again and I'm excited to share another episode of my bee adventures with all of you. the bees however, not so much. They were not on board with being famous and I can't blame them. Bad timing on their part but it's my job to save them.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and remember, I am a trained professional.....wink wink. Don't try this at home. or anywhere else for that matter.
Honeybees can always be dangerous and it is not recommended to attempt to remove them with experience with bees or construction knowledge.
I hope you enjoy this little bit of fun. I enjoy your feedback in the comments and thank you for taking the time to check out my channel. Until the next time, enjoy the show.
Yappy Beeman is a professional bee remover performing live honey bee removals in Alabama as "Alabama Bee Rescue" and relocates them to apiaries away from residential areas so they can rebuild and thrive as a honey bee colony producing honey. Yappy is an Alabama Beekeepers association member that has performed over 1000 live bee removals. Yappy with the help of his great friends Jpthebeeman, 628 Dirtrooster bees, Jeff Horchoff and many others, I have learned many skills to remove bee swarms and honey bee colonies safely for the bees and home owners alike.

You can tell you really care about the bees themselves when you're taking extra time trying to help out a couple worker bees not get smushed, out of tens of thousands of bees.

Love watching people that are experts with wild animals work. Its a skill that can’t really be taught only learned through first hand experience and a love for what they do. I have a good friend who is a trapper who I have worked for a few times when he needed an extra hand. Its always interesting hearing all the techniques he has developed and all the little details he has picked up on over the years.

2 swarms, very cool!
so did you combine them ? or add a 2nd queen/hive
What is needed is a lithium battery rechargeable low wattage heater that is the size of a frame. Just turn it on and install it in the box. Boy they might think it was great and might encourage them to head straight for the warm box! We have some livestock heaters that get just a bit warmer than ambient. So if it is say 50°F outside, they'd get 70°. To the human touch, it doesn't feel really warm but it makes a world of difference!
Was there a queen in both or did you unite them into 1 hive?
@YappyBeeman
Жыл бұрын
I actually just put them in one box when I got home with a double deep setup. It was too much room but if there was 2 queens I believe they would have separated into the 2 clusters again even though they were boxed. I only found the one Queen and they were all clustered together the next day. I think the swarm was too big for the small bush was why there were 2 separate bundles
Why are you not wearing gloves so you don't feel the sting! 😻 Love the suit 😂
Excellent
Let you guys walk right in beautiful touch 😅

Do the second best thing: buy merchandise from beekeepers.
I'm in Southern Illinois and my bees are still wearing Coats. Swarm season also started about 2 weeks later
Nice video, I won’t do that without gloves or half suit… there is always a few stings in the gloves when I am done no matter how gentle.
We spray the box we put the bees in and the swarm with sugar water before trying to move them. This help them keep them calm

From what I’ve learned from you sir. Is always be aware of your surroundings. Not talking about the KZread vids either.
Missed on how long the hives were undisturbed? They just seem so upset, it's allwsys good to see people that save these beautiful little hellians instead of killing them. I am nervous around any wasp, yellow jacket etc but I have did my yard work around some black wasp?? that had nested in a small decorative bird house, they were so calm around me and also I fed neighbors honey bees TAMPICO juice from a lid, they would fill up then go back to hive
Ah the BeeBurkah :)

Yappy, I'm not trying to be rude, but is your right hand (on screen... it might be left in real life) like that from being stung so much or was it always that way? I hope you don't take offense to my question. I really appreciate all your videos. I'm a 100% disabled veteran of the USAF and USArmy and I really want to get into beekeeping. My wife wants me to buy a Nuke or established hike, but I was really hoping to catch my own swarm. What advice would you give me for my first hive? I've built a top-bar hive that I was thinking would be easier to use as my first hive, but now I'm not so sure. Thanks in advance for any advice you are willing to give and Shalom Aleichem!

Glad you asked, its an issue from birth. Had a few surgeries because of it. Stings had nothing to do with it. Can't play the piano so well but I can catch a queen bee faster than most can snap thier fingers. Lol.
Wow that is a pissed off swarm
So fascinating, I've never looked at bee's before and thought there such clever little things, and so very cute. Im in the UK and we have alot of the big yellow and black bumblebees, what do they do different to these bee's cause I've never seen a video of anyone removing one of there nests?
Swarms in the winter? I had a hive leave in October. I hope they ended up somewhere nice.
