Watched it live. The nut shot and ref interaction definitely stopped the momentum of the fight for a second or two. Pereira won fair and square but I don’t think he’s better than Jamaal. I’d love to see a rematch. Probably won’t happen.

But the thing is that the low blow didn’t bother Alex, so he continued to move forward, then Herb attempted to stop it, Alex caught the kick on the cup, was unbothered/didn’t want to stop the action, so he told Herb it was OK while never taking his eyes off of Hill, then pressed forward and got the left hook. I certainly respect that it adds another integer to the whole situation. But Alex had moved forward before the referee came into halt, so it was nothing dirty on his part. If Hill didn’t like the distance, he could’ve shuffled back too.
