Happy Birthday Chad! That was a great song to choose. Hit me hard because there is so much truth in it. I have some years on you (75) and I certainly feel the weight of years. Facts

Tool and Opeth are my last personal discovery, and I never tire to listen to them since a couple of months.

Tool will never die for me one of greatest band of all time

Try Tool’s “Descending”. It’s a freaking ride.

Tool are a band with a lot to say, but do most of it with their music, Maynard either writes cryptic lyrics or as here very open lyrics with a simple but powerfull meaning and about getting older, losing some of that youthful energy but being better for it, knowing you are always going to have to compete with younger men whilst having done more than most of that younger generation will even see, nevermind do. I love this song so much, it was the perfect closer when I saw them. Big love brother

Happy birthday Chad, 76 was a great year! This journey into Tools rabbit hole will be something to behold. Although as mentioned already, I'm sure there will be a few more favourites 😊

That riff that starts at 13:06 in the video where you said "I love that riff", well, that's arguably my favorite riff in all of Tool's discography. So clean, crisp and powerful. Just perfect for leading into the outro. Great stuff!

This one is absolute masterpiece. Tool is one of the few bands outside of finland im listening to. Others are like Killswitch Engage and The Offspring :D and Greetings from Finland, and thank you for this reaction!

The way I see it: Tool hits you at head level, Heiling and Warduna hit more in the solar plexus and heart. I'd be curious to see your reaction to "Table Talk" by Alysa Weinberg. The version on Vic Firth's channel is a good one. I'm sure some people would say it's not actually music, but not me.

Dude, this song played Live... with the drums turned UP resonating in your chest, along with their insane visuals behind them is something to behold. I'm very thankful I got to see them play.

Saw them premier this song and descending at Rockville in Jacksonville FL. Oddly enough prior to the album release I would listen to the Video recordings of invincible and never really got into Descending. Once the album dropped and I heard descending, it quickly became my new favorite Tool song. Perfection.

Yes, great reaction!! Some Tool takes a minute to assimilate and digest, but the newest album is really accessible, and simply amazing. Keep 'em coming!

I’m. Here. For. It.

When this album came out, I was going through a rough time in life, & I was seeing a mental health therapist once a week. About 3 weeks in, he handed me a a bunch of questions about my emotional wellbeing, 3 pages worth. Instead of answering any of the questions, I wrote down the lyrics to this song & gave it to him. He immediately figured out that I was having the so called "mid-life crisis" & gave me the TOOLs to figure it out.

As a brand new 50yo, this song has special significance… more years behind than ahead, strength waning, racing against the darkening when usefulness will fail me.

I grew up a tool fan. My tastes have changed over the years, and my perspective has as well. While I find the song technically stimulating and cognitively intriguing I don't feel moved emotionally and spiritually by it like I do by Heilung. I find Tool stimulating but not inspiring. Very much an appreciation, especially considering my nostalgia, but its season has passed in my life.

Those lines where is talking about "Warriors" struggling to remain relevant and consequential... he's talking about men in general. Now more than ever.

As good as this is I feel there are at least 3 better songs on this album, so there's ya' something for which to look forward. Pneuma (both Studio and Danny Carey's drum cam), Descending and 7empest are better in my eyes...Oh, let us not forget Culling Voices, another real good song! Really enjoying your content man, keep it up and I'll see on the next one!

Hey..here u r again...cool. I told you i'd be here for the next 1. Didnt realize this was months ago!? Ppl often comment on their own musings about being caught up, a movie etc. But to us......(the TOOL boxes, lol just kidding. we're NOT called that!) we already know. Later on down the road yul muse that "When I listen to TOOL I just have to close my eyes n let the experience take me on a visual journey. No other band really does that to me?!" Mark my words. Having said that...once u get further along n discover the songs "The Holy Trinity" >3 songs. Parabola/Parabol>2 songs and the like. Yul get to probably my favorite TOOL song?! I know, I know army relax! I said "probably!?" That's the hardest question to answer IN LIFE being a TOOL fan! O brother! ANYWAY, my song is Culling Voices. Yep, I said it. To this day it was the greatest sex my brain ever had!! 1st had sumthg "edible" put my ear protection on. "Closed my eyes" then just went "there!" Hearing the absolute GENIUS mixing. Tickling both left n right sides of my brain had me floating. When those OH so satisfying drops came? (bcuz they're multiple) I sat up n literally "cried out LOUD" then I literally cried euphorically. True story....lol. And everytime I see those words "Culling Voices" that someones reacting to it!? It takes me right back there! To be relived again n again. Ok wait.....where AM I?
