This MIGHT be my All-Time Favorite Food Photography Lighting setup
In this video I show you how I shot an image I posted on my instagram a while ago and has definitely become one of my favorite food photography lighting setups. I also take it into Capture One and show you how I edit it.
Hope it helps!

Hey man I just stumbled on your channel. And man I’m blown away how you focus on explaining the how. Keep doing what you do! Thanks again!!
I discovered your channel today and I gotta say you are a great instructor + photographer. Your subjects are well thought and very relevant to people with a mind to learn about lighting. You express concepts very well, your visual materials are so pleasing to observe and a great example alongside your instruction. This almost feels like a paid photography class :D !

I loveeeee your tutorials, you are a genius!! I wanted to ask what program did you used befor Photoshop?
Great video! Maybe I missed it, but can you go into how you did the switch between C1 and Photoshop so fast, where it made the TIF file in C1? Thanks!
Just discovered ur channel yesterday, very interesting. Thanks mate. Which flash you recommend for a reasonable price ?
Hi! congratulations for your videos !! I would like to create shadows in the still life (maybe simulate the shadows created by a window) I ask you: the shadow you made on this set, can you create only with a flash or even with a continuous light? Thank you!!

Hi! Nice tips, thanks! Cool speedlight with model light! Wich brand / model this is?
Awesome videos! I don't understand how your flashes look kinda diffused on this shoot though. I've got some youngnuo flashes that look super harsh without diffusion. Do yours have some built in diffuser or something?
You are really good
Just subscribed and followed on IG. Great content! Also, food hack. If you burn your toast again, use a butter knife to scrape off the top layer. Brings it to almost perfect

Where did you buy these surfaces? They look great
Love it!! What is the name of the first program he used?
Great
I really like your videos and your photos could you suggest me? I come from street photography and now I want to dedicate myself to food photography. I have a little money that I want to invest in a study that allows me to work comfortably and well. I have a softbox 80x100 and a stripbox 20x90 (and maybe a bigger one) I wonder what lights I need to illuminate with good quality ... I thought about buying 2 godox V860II (for the same price they could be x4 tt685 but they use aa batteries and not se), or maybe x1 v860ii and an AD200? the V1 seems that on certain shots with a lot of power it overheats and does not work ... if you could give me some advice, thanks
what software is the first one you used aside from Photoshop? Do you have a video on how you post-edit your pictures?
Hi, any tips for budget diy backdrops ?
very good . I,m photo grapher in iran and I enjoyed From your video . my sister live in losangles .I hope to see her and continue my education in the United States .I have a Noritsu 3702 mini lip in Iran and I have been photographing for about a year
Hi I am your new subscriber! What board are you using? is that a foam board? what is the dimension? and how thick? Thank you very much!
Is there a reason why you use Capture One instead of Lightroom? :) Huge thanks for all your content

I got mine from Erickson surfaces and also had a friend make some custom ones as well
nice.
Can you tell, which monitor are you using for editing? Cause I have laptop lcd and its sucks in color.
Do you just glue on foldable vinyls to the boards or do you get premade boards?
Didn't get the editing part at all but great great information
New to your channel and immediately hit the subscribe 😉 Appreciate the straight forward and educational approach. I will find you on Instagram as well . Curious to know as I didn’t see it in your show notes what C- Stand you are using I’ve been on the hunt for a good quality one that won’t break the bank to much . Can you please send me over the details ? Thank you in advance and keep up the great work !

Thank you! I actually use a pretty pricey c-stand that I bought a while ago. Came out to around 300 bucks, but would definitely recommend the c-stand from neewer which is about 135. amzn.to/3hJnuXq Answering this 6 days later, I'm going to guess you may have found one already, but I'll respond anyway haha. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
What a helpfull and great tutorial! I see you use Capture One. Why not LR and/or PS? What is Capture One’s strongpoints?
@figandlight
4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I actually started using Capture One not too long ago, I've been a heavy lightroom user for years, but since using Capture One I've been loving the heavy customization with Capture One, especially the color profiles, the way it renders contrast, and the ability to tether through their live view function is amazing. With that said, I don't think it's any better than LR or PS in terms of features or performance or anything like that. I believe it really depends on where you're at in terms of skill and the type of demands you have in your professional workflow. Capture One just happens to fit my needs, which was a surprise because I only wanted to try it out, but ended up loving it a lot.
very goood

Maybe for like a fine art or something, but for food photography, you have to remember that the viewer needs to be able to see the subject, which is food. If I owned a restaurant, this is not what I would want.
