Actually, Lou Reed is the alias Jason used when he traveled back in time to exact revenge on Metallica.
I am convinced this album was created for the sole purpose of trolling their fans.

It has to be a troll...I don't see how a band who created revolutionary genre-defining masterpieces back in the 80's could record this with a serious intent. Also noteworthy is Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music". It must also have been a troll from what I understand, I don't know much about it though honestly, other than I've seen people mentioning it. But with a quick listen skimming through that "album", it's easy to see that it was a troll move as well.
