♦️Jimin wrote the lyrics not only by himself, but was the only one to send his very first draft to the producers, and it was approved, so no need for a rewrite! The lie is the lie he keeps telling himself. Always in the past aiming for perfection and by doing so always questioning and second guessing himself! Although deep inside he knows better! The other lie is telling himself as well as everyone else that everything is alright when it's not!! Jimin has grown and changed, along with the other members since then. All learning to love themselves for who & what they are flaws and all! Jimin is now able to, as his song Promise says, shine the light on himself, as well, speaking up more when things bother him and allowing himself to laugh off whenever he makes any kind of mistake, knowing now he can always perfect or improve on whatever is lacking next time!!

Yes you got it right. So many people tell themselves they aren't good enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough or whatever the lie might be but they really are. We must accept ourselves as we are and quit trying to be someone else. Even Jesus tells us to come as we are. He knows we aren't perfect but He loves us anyway and is ready and waiting for us to come to Him.

Jimin is my favorite vocalist. His vocals a insane. And not just his vocals his dance, visual and more.

Lie is Rookies’s bible, masterpieces. There are many artists covered Jimin’s Lie live solo performance. I love to watch Jimin’s Lie so much. I don't know if this has already been said here, but just to add, basically this song has a lot of musical storytelling. The whole song is in a minor key- sad, and then the only line that's in a major key- happy, is the "caught in a lie," basically saying that he's trapped in his fake happiness, but the truth is that he's miserable. There's a lot of other production and musical subtleties too in the song that's kind of showing how he's trapped in his fake happy facade. And yeah, like everybody else said, he's a perfectionist and miserable with himself a lot, like how he almost starved himself for days because he thought he needed to look better for Blood, Sweat, and Tears, so this is a song to show his true self instead of faking happiness all the time, kind of showing a fight within himself.

Park Jimin's voice is incomparable, he's got the most beautiful, unique voice, pne of a kind voice. He is such an incredible dancer, the best to say the least, he's been dancing for more than 12 years. He's an amazing performer who demands your attention, such a amazing performer 💗

Jimin's solo songs are freaking masterpiece 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

So... Stage-mixes are great because you get to see the consistency between performances and a bunch of the outfits... I DO, HOWEVER, recommend watching a single live performance. I really think you get a better sense of the emotion from a single performance than one with all the edits.

I just appreciate how you take your time to analyze and enjoy BTS music. Lie is one of my fav Jimin solo but heck there’s Serendipity and Filter too and they are both Jimin solos and I can’t even pick a favorite 😓😓😓 But for Lie, the vocalization before the chorus, the ochestra-seque instrumentals coupled with Jimin’s dancing is just so enchanting, almost like a spell just like Jimin struggling with his persona in the lyrics… it’s just so beautiful and Jimin being an amazing performer just captive you that your eyes are fixed on him and you want to see more. I also listened to Classic musicians react to lie and they were like the song went from a minor in the verse to a major in the chorus so the lie is in the song itself. Lie is from 2016 album WINGS and I recommend you check the album. Truly a masterpiece 😚💜

Here's info that some still aren't aware of: ❤️JIMIN, at age 11-12 started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey! JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!! JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! I honestly don't think there's any correct interpretation for this song. However, I do think that what you said makes the most sense (and that's what me and most people perceive it as). I also would like to note that he actually wrote this during that period of transition where he stopped trying to be someone that he wasn't. It was sort of his "this is the real me" song.

It amazes me how you always manage to analyze the videos and you are on point! What I love about the song lie is that RM wrote this with Jimin. When RM writes, he always rights the song taking into account the person who will be singing that song. To me, being a Jimin and Jungkook fan, this song holds two meanings to me. I am sure if you spend anytime searching KZread regarding those two (especially today) you will understand what that second meaning is. It makes this song even more beautiful and bittersweet at the same time. When you listen this song with Serendpity, DNA, Euphoria, and Still with you, it paints a rather interesting picture.

I interpreted it as jimin insecurities about himself he even talks about a voice talking to him, smooth like a snake. Loved your reaction.

Great analysis as usual. Jimin has even spoken about it in VLives and interviews and even an interview published last week. I think he's resolved a lot of this but he is such a perfectionist that he still struggles from time to time. The best we can do as ARMY is support all of them in whatever ways they need. So having said that Lie is also part of the fictional BU story so there are those layers that you, and we, love. 💜

The Jimin effect is strong in this song and you have only scratched the surface. Ah Toney Toney Toney it’s just my opinion but I think it’s time you delved into some background on the boys. A good summary of their journey is by The Asian Theory called “The most beautiful life goes on: a story of BTS. Please check it out. It will be worth your time. Thank you for your reactions.

There are few things you might also like to know. First, there is a key change from a minor to major key - that is a vocal lie about the song that you think it is minor key but not really, it is major key (changes when you hear the word LIE). Second, the style of dance changes, when he is in the lie, the dance is sharp movements, like cuts. When he is in truth (major key) the dance is smooth movement. These are also a way he communicated the lie that he is living in. Finally, you think the dance is over because he is walking away, but no that is lie because there are few final steps.

if you recommend Joke also include that they should watch the MV on the channel *'leeha park'* because that channel has accurate subtitles added. When people recommend Joke without mentioning the channel 'leeha park' almost every reactor end up with the one on the BANgTANTV that doesn't have subtitles or some other version either without the MV or with bad translation.

This was legit the best performance I have ever seen live. All of the members did exceptionally well, but Jimin and Taehyung... WINGS tour? That was special.

Don't worry, you will get them figured out. All you have to do is watch them all day like we do, LOL. (Edited to say, I don't think I've ever heard a better way of explaining this song. In my opinion you nailed it. Thanks and a hug)

If you want to learn about their personalities, you should watch some of their skits and interviews with Jimmy Fallon. I recommend the subway olympics which is really funny and a great quick interview. 💜💜💜

Btw they had magazine interviews just last week and Jimin said that what he wears influences how the song sounds to him and how he dances. Saying wearing casual clothes makes it feel more exciting as opposed to a suit that makes it feel more sexy. He also feels different dancing alone vs. with the group. That’s neat. It’s obvious that clothing impacts your mood but to hear him as a performer say it really impressed me. Makes me wish I could dance!

On another note, when I'm testing hi-fi headphones before buying, "Lie" is my go to. The song has SO many layers, it's insane.

What helped me recognize each member was the video “Who is BTS? The Seven Members of Bangtan” it highlights each member and gives background info on each member. I highly recommend you take the time to watch it.

I think you took it wrong. Jimin never struggle how he truly is. He has only been strungling with his voice because his voive is so unique.
