Amazing movie. Watched it when I was younger, and even then, I could tell that it was a great movie. Now, I've been watching it maybe once a year just to remember how good it is.

@Al Ex like I said in the other comment, since he brought the other guy away from the others before he beat him as an example I totally expected the plot twist they were working together. It's a common thing in movies where they act like they're beating someone up but it's all staged. Yes you could see it through the window but that view was horrible so could have been fake. Like if it was to make an example why not do it where they could see?

Spiderman has done a great job of making me see nothing else than mr Osborne everytime is see that actor

One of the greatest heist movies of all time.

Those robbers are very intelligent and were able outsmart the police. They didn't kill the hostages and were able to escape successfully. This movie is expertly written with foreshadowing and tension that keeps you entertained.

Love the little connections this movie makes to previous scenes. Frazier using the recorder the police woman showed to record Madeline. Dalton requesting sandwiches the second time around for food because he had bugged them and heard the first time they should get pizza and not sandwiches. Frazier asking people during questioning if they want gum because Dalton asked him when he entered the bank. Great movie and details

It's a good detail to show they aren't greedy monsters early, up until then they've robbed a bank, held hostages, and smacked a dude, so a small act of kindness shows early they have the potential to be good, instead of just later at the final moment being like "Oh yeah, and they no kill anyone, and they no steal anything" When that is revealed it feels in character for them, especially with the other ones later like saving the old man.

@@freshrimp9013 This is a brilliant movie that muddles the lines between good and bad till everything is grey. Going after a nazi is good, but it doesn't justify involving the innocent. However, none of the innocent were actually harmed, aside from potential traumas. So did they really harm the innocent? If not, then is what they did good? They still involved the innocent, but look at the outcome: Worse-than-Nazi banker gets fuckin slammed Smart detective that needed promotion got promotion, laid his wife, and got a high price diamond None of the hostages were harmed in the least, and in exchange for a potentially traumatic experience they got free pizza and sandwiches, and time off work The only thing I question is the guy who got the shit beat out of him... it was shown off screen so did that really happen? And what about the guy dragged away? In any case, TL;DR really good movie that blurs lines between bad and good

i cant remember the novel but i remember i have read something simililar to this except that there was a main character who was slightly beyond the limits of a human in speed strength and intelligence. The pizza box scene and the scenes with the hostages being dressed as robbers were there too. The robbers also constantly outsmarted the police and also the commander of the police was changed as well. Mind you in the novel they were there for the money. I also forgot in the novel in a seperate heist they managed to bug a control room or something and could listen to the every move of the police. The main character is called Rob if you want to know.

I have watched this 4 times and its still an amazing movie

A classic, I remember seeing this years ago

I found a DVD version of this movie in my dad's collection of random DVD's and CD's. I'm back again for a recap, it was an amazing movie indeed

This is worth watching for real if anyone is curious, the summary doesn't quite do it justice, the effect of the pacing and sequencing in the movie itself is really great to watch

Only real detail I might’ve missed being mentioned, although could be seen, is that all the hostages were dressed as the robbers, so the cops couldn’t identify anybody, which to me really makes this an awesome movie. Great video and definitely a good movie.

I have this film on DVD and never get tired of watching it. So clever and the cast is perfect.

looks like an interesting movie. have you ever noticed that you see tons of movies listed on streaming services all the time, but when you watch one of these recaps and try to go watch it, it's no longer on the streaming services or it is now a "rent/buy" title?

Who'd think that 15/16 years later we'd see Goblin & Mordo again in Back 2 Back MCU films? Nice.

I absolutely love this movie. One of the few Blu rays I own. That being said the whole storyline with Jodie Foster and the bank owner felt like padding for the run time, fun filler though.
