This man charged me $30 for a Moroccan scarff in Marrakech, Morocco 🇲🇦 is that the real price? 🤑

I was walking around the Marrakech Medina to try some cactus and this man tried to sell me a $30 scarf.

Hi :) I'm going to Marrakesh in a couple of weeks, can you give me some advices to have a better experience? Hey @@vascosimoes7946 sorry i just saw your message. So if you are planing to visit Marrakech , i would recommand you spend maybe 2 days in the city and more days in the suburbs of Marrakech. So in the city you can see the most known areas like El Fena square , the souk if you wanna buy some moroccan clothes or souvenirs, El Bahia palace is a beautiful place full of history i recommand it as well, and there are also some beautiful gardens like Menara, Majorelle... but what i most like are the suburbs of Marrakech there is a beautiful place called Siti Fatma , people there are so friendly and you can rent a place there ,it's cheap (something arroud 30 $ per night). And there are also the Atlas mountains, man if you love the nature it's definetly the place to go to, and people there are so friendly and welcoming as well. If you need any other information, please feel to ask. Hope you'll enjoy your stay there :)

Change your title, it is not a good thing to point fingers at someone just trying to sell. I am a Moroccan living in Mexico and anywhere in the world you go especially touristy countries, you will always find people selling things at high and low prices depending on the quality of what you want to purchase. Morocco is a wonderful country filled with hospitable people welcoming everyone from around the world. You need to make a choice of what you want to buy based on your budget and negotiate to the best you can. Do not point fingers at anyone, if you do not like it then buy from somewhere else or kindly retreat not to buy at all. I hope you take my advice and the advice of people that have posted for you here who view your videos to remove such an unkind title as you have written. Alisia

Regarding prices, there are things that can be negotiated, but there are other things that are not discussed in the price, for example, paintings. You can find an original and beautiful painting from an artist at a good price. You can sell it twice as much abroad. Therefore, it is not recommended to compare valuable and rare things with things that are in circulation and available in the market.

It wasn't that bad. Maybe he was clingy, but if it's good quality, it is worth the price. I bought less than that for more, for the right place. I like getting my deal, but I also want the others to benefit out of goodwill. Spend your money wisely. It's not because you're not getting the price you want that they're out to get you. It's better to get educated on the market as you navigate your way through before judging. Another thing, depending many parameters prices might vary, and it's up to you to bargain respectfully.

Also is not good to point at someone like in the title, there is everywhere in the world seller who try to overcharge you, it's simple if you don't like the price bargain or don't buy. and as an advice, even for us locals, we do our research before buying something, like that you have an idea about the price/quality you want.

What quality you all talking about! The babouches in fez are around 50-70 mad (5-7$) and the scarfs are half of the price or even lower, I am a Moroccan and I can tell that you got all the items with a tripled price, you can tell from their face how happy they are when you give them the amount they told you or for ex when the initial price is 300 but they lowered it to 150, do you find it logical? Cmon moroccan people we all know that she got scammed for every single item she got and I am sorry for that. I advise you to take a tour on at least 3 shops and negotiate their offers all before taking the decision and the golden trick is to always refuse at first and insist on paying half of the price or even less and you’ll see how will they act, cause even if you lower the price to its half it’ll still be beneficial for them , for the babouch even if you’d said 100 and acted persistent and decisive on the 100 he would still agree cause it’s already more expensive than the common price. I feel sorry for you again and enjoy the rest of your trip in the Moroccan desert. ❤

I'll give some tips when buying for bargain markets: 1- never by from the first vendor / first offre. 2- ask for the item price in many shops/ vendors while taking your tour at the market. 3- never show your big interest for the item. For the juice price , in the countries that English is not a common language, they do confuse 15 and 50 just give them a break if you are not sure . I myself learned the difference between the two after many tries, anyway welcome to my country and thank you for your honest opinions and videos ❤

I just came back from a cruise to Mexico and Cayman with my kids. As long as I knew the price was a couple of dollars over, I didn't haggle. Consider it a sort of help for the less fortunate local population. You don't dare to bargain when you're shopping at one of the store in Main St America ....

Do not buy anything until you ask several shops, and then you have to lower the price after you are sure of the quality of the thing you want to buy.

It's an culture in Morocco. That if you want to buy something. You have to discuss with sealer. So that's why all the sealer don't tell the real price from the beginning. Because if he will tell the real price you will negotiate with him .

That was shamful to post the picture of the seller and to write such a title on it, he was so kind with you and he did'nt lie about the prices of the scarves because he was trying to sell you the best quality which is a little bit more expensive than the normal ones , i think that guy deserves an apology! Enjoy your stay in Morocco

Hi seara i liked ur videos and I loved ur energy .but Selling and buying is a huge market all over the world .honestly I don't blame the guy his trying to make a living and make money same as u do .but always check prices and never buy from first seller .in fact we are morocain and sometimes we got fooled .and that how we learned keeping positive we are waiting for ur next adventure and thank u for what u are doing.

Please show some respect to sellers, it's not their fault if you can't afford quality items, ask for cheaper ones that match your budget next time. Also, many moroccans have green or blue eyes, it's not a special thing btw... what a racist!

It is not a scam, it is a free market and he sets the price he wants, and you are not obliged to buy. In Morocco there are also people with green or blue eyes and believe me that is not the reason, that price is also made to Moroccans, and well they can also bargain or simply leave and not accept the price...
