    Great southern rock band from the 70's. They had some great songs such as "Imaginary Lover", "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight", "So Into You", "Large Time" (tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd), "Do It Or Die" & "Spooky".

    Growing up this song was the coolest, driving with the windows down DAM! memories...you also have to try - Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter #23 same downbeat they both came out in 1977

    I saw them in Palm Beach for their New Years Eve Champagne Jam, with The Guess Who opening. That was great fun~ They also played my Grad Night at Disney World.

    Yes, definitely. I was a kid when this came out. I heard this song on Rock radio. Strangely, lived around the corner from a Black radio station. I asked a DJ if they had this song. He initially said no, but they actually did. The label sent it in a plain white sleeve and white label. I told him to check it out and play it. He did, and locally it became very popular on Black radio. The same would happen with Pablo Cruise "Whatcha Gonna Do?" Great music knows no boundaries!!

    That was beautiful guys. I have heard that song million times on the radio when I was younger. But listening to it now, slowing it down a little and paying attention to the lyrics has really helped me to appreciate this song even more. Wow, that took me to another world for a minute. :)

    I'm from Macon, GA, and I saw them many, many times. The lead singer, Ronnie Hammond, married one of my friends. "Imaginary Lover" {never lets you down} is one of their greatest.

    ARS has some great songs. Their cover of "Spooky" (Classics IV) is fantastic. "Imaginary Lover" and "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight" are also fire.

    Some of the Atlanta Rhythm Section were in the Classics IV, so I think of their version of "Spooky" as a "semi-cover".

    Oh the memories, high school, mad crush on a certain guy, dancing in my room at night while hugging my pillow to this song, imagining fevered teenage hormone things going on with this fantasy guy and me...ha!!     This song always gives me goose bumps,it was written by Robert Nix(the drummer for ARS)about Leslie Hawkins.She was one of the Honkettes,a trio of women who sang for Lynyrd Skynyrd.Nix saw her for the first time just as the song describes and instantly fell in love with Hawkins,who was stunningly beautiful and remains so till this day,well into her 70's.

    One of my favorite concerts was ARS with Wet Willie. Saw them together in 1979. They both put on a helluva show. ARS stretched their songs out live, making for some killer jams. "Neon Nights" and "Another Man's Woman" are a couple of my favorites.
