The late 00s Emo Era to Hipster Starbucks Era to Tumblr Era to Coachella Beautyguru Era was such a SHAPING aspect of my teen years. Like literally from being 10 years old to adult. We went through PHASES. Idk so many iconic aesthetics happening in that time frame. And not enough money to explore any of them. I already feel too old to follow current trends - so sometimes I wish time could stand still and I could relive those old aesthetics, recreate them and overcome the Trauma. Lol.

@@TheGinaChan I wish. Well, I still got the Moodboards. Adult life gets in the way, but I will try to "reclaim" some of it. I think Tumblr Grunge holds up especially well. Some of the Coachella Beautyguru Era is kind of endearing at least - back then we really got the Glam Neutral-Eye MakeUp (with so much TooFaced), deep self-tanning routine, hair extension application (Bellami), fake Tattoos, ripped Denim Jacket DIY and Shuffle Tutorial all in *ONE 40 Minute Video* that was called something like "Getting ready for Coachella Day 1" or "Date Night Glam - Get ready with Me". A PRODUCTION. Those girls really put on a whole cocktail dress, bought roses and got a glass of Prosecco just for the Outro and then turnt the night-out into a VLOG for the next day. Camp.

But I remember being "Emo"...Black hair, dark clothing with some neon in general, but very bootleg. Then a bit Hipster for a while...The Beanies, Nerd Glasses, Moustache Bracelet (This whole Era is just a blur of Lindsey Sterling Music Videos from the first Album to me and Skrillex - Summit Video...that Energy)...then I kinda fell off lol (which was a shame cuz Tumblr Grunge was literally RIGHT there)...no distinct style...then around 2016ish I kinda vibed with that understated beach/coast style (think Loud Luxury - Body or Calvin Harris - How deep is your Love Video). Nowadays a mixture of Skater, Tomboy, Berlin Hipster..a bit all over the place. Have not rly found myself yet. Being an adult you also kind of start to embrace a "proper" normcore look for work and all...just "popular, classic looks - that are liked for being universialy flattering". Lol.

I should have never stopped being involved in the makeup community because this is how I STILL do my make up 😔

She married a man who basically groomed her, had a history of animal neglect and re-homing and has a daughter with a disability she completely neglects as well. She stopped posting on social media when she was caught stealing presets from another creator and sold them as her own work. Like this girl and her life is so wild, I hope brittany and sarah talk about it with the rise of 2014 and tumblr culture. its wild.

@@alexandracasey7903 it’s not about how pale you are , it’s about undertones. brittany is cool toned so all the reds and warm colors in modern renaissance clash with her skin :,) that’s why if you have cool undertones it might make you look like you’ve been crying. if you have cooler undertones, you look way better with blues, grays, greens, and just cool colors in general !

Modern Renaissance is to this day the only eye shadow palette I've ever owned. I am a pale girly, but I have pretty dark brown eyes and brows, so I think that helps. I also have pink undertones. That being said, I truly stick to about 5 shades on that palette. Mostly the brown shades and often pink for color. Sometimes I go for orange when I'm feeling wacky

Brittany gives me older cousin vibes like I feel like I’ve known her forever she seems like she a good friend a good person and she’s so fun! I love her

When I got the semi sweet chocolate palette years ago my intrusive thoughts won and I tasted the eyeshadow AND IT'S LITERALLY SWEET. It literally tasted good I was like wtf is this sorcery

I’m also 25 😌 I remember everyone was terrified of blush back then too, contour and highlight ONLY and ALWAYS - which included using lighter concealer/foundation on all high points - so we all just looked lifeless lol. I was 16 doing that and a fat wing liner as my every day school look until ppl told me I looked crazy rip

I remember when I did cheerleading in high-school there was a girl who had the chocolate bar pallette and she said it smelled like chocolate so I asked if I could taste it and she said yeah so I dipped my grubby little finger onto one of the colors and tasted it. It smelled better than it tasted

Haha I’ve had that modern renaissance palette since I was 18, it was the first high non-drugstore makeup I ever owned! Even now at 25, I use it almost every time I do my makeup

This will get buried and youll never see this Brittany, but id like to thank you for spreading positivity about your downturned eyes. It's made me slowly embrace my own, too. Its been hard to after so, SO MANY years of cateye and foxeye makeup trends.

I tried foundation a few times and it always looked so weird, like my skin sucked up all the moisture and I was just left with cakey finger marks on my face, it wasn't until I was introduced to primer (was still apprehensive about spending money on something clear) that I wore it and it looked decent. I plucked my eyebrows thinking they had to look the same (same being non existent) then figured out you can draw them to look similar. We truly had to fuck around and find out

I saw her whip out the naked brush and I thought “omg she’s using the naked brush” and then you said it immediately hahaha. Fr though I’ve been using the brushes from my Naked palettes for years. The one from the Cherry palette is legit my favourite eyeshadow brush lol

OK BUT THE LAURA MERCIER IS SOOOOOOOOO TRUE!!! I am pink as a peach and that is the only powder that honestly works. I got it as a sample with ipsy and have never turned back

fun fact actually not so fun is that acacia brinley/kersey has gotten a lot of criticism for seemingly mistreating her young child named Rosie who has special needs and she'd be seen out in the cold wearing less layers than her siblings despite her being a baby at the time and all around being treated with less care than her siblings.

ngl brittany’s editing was just fine before stanley but i will say, i think the editing is perfect nowadays and it seems to really blend well with brittany’s comedy and honestly makes me laugh all on its own sometimes.

I truly love the eyes. Everything else needs some work, but the eyes are classic and beautiful!

I 100% relate to what she said about not being emo because of strict parents and wanting to semi-become emo, I really get that

I revert back to this look any time im late for a professional obligation because Its so deeply ingrained I know I won’t fuck it up and it only takes me 10 minutes. Also it tricks people into believing I am a normal gorl and not an emo gremlin.

I know I'm 6 months late to this video but as a fellow fair girly (I wear Oslo in Nars), I absolutely loved the Modern Renaissance palette (the reds and pinks). I liked to call it Pink Eye chic. But I also did use it to help get me out of taking a test in band. I also shit my pants when Urban Decay came out with Naked Cherry.
