The battle between good and evil, is happiness and depression. People confuse pleasure with happiness. Pleasure is an illusion of happiness (temporary) people who chase pleasure is missing the mark (sin) Happiness, is true constant joy. Spiritual people, dont look for pleasure. They find joy in becoming the best version of themselves which delivers good (positive) self image. Which makes them FEEL good about themselves. Thise who choose pleasure are always looking for things to make them FEEL good. But when you dont work on becoming the best version of self, chasing temptation, you know sub consciously you are missing the mark (sin) deliering negative self image. This makes it difficult ro love self. Whereas spiritual people are able to self love. They know their worth! They Think and FEEL good about themselves. As a man thinkth in his heart, so shall he be! Exodus 3:14 EhYah Asher EhYah I Am Happy, that I AM. Yahusha (EhYah Oosher) I AM eternal happiness. To Be happy, happiness must first exist. Sadness/chronic sadness (depression) = suffering/bondage [Egypt, let my people go]. Stop chasing pleasure (illusion of happiness). Get to know thyself, self reflect Work on self, to become the best version and you will find true Happiness.

Thank you Hashem for sending Rabbi Simon Jacobson to check my arrogance. Timely intervention on a New moon. Thoughtful and deep insights, especially in regard to understanding of 'guilt'. The more I dig, the more I find, Judaim to be the most conscientious and compassionate 'blueprint' for life on this earth. Its always from Jewish people I find true humanity and kindness, thank you for reaching out to us who are novices /gentiles. I do though always read Deut 4 to remind me, that Hashem chooses, and some of us just forgot the faith of our forefathers. Like Moshe, I am going to checkout the new moon tonight and remind myself, why Hashem kept me going, and how grateful I am to Him for this life. The vibration of love beaming from youtube right now, who could have thunk it? joy, hope, rejuverernation Amen and Amen. May Hashem bless you in all the works you do.

Rabbi is so right on this. If you sparr with stronger, you can become strong. If you discuss with wiser than you, it firstly trains the brain and your intelligence will raise, but on top of that wise men can teach you wisdom which can be learnt as intelligence can be trained. Bullying weaker, can make you feel good as you steal the energy but you will not learn anything nor do you come stronger. So that is why mankind seems stuck in certain level. If someone would raise above average, he wil be torn down.

It is the energy that feeds us in human interractions. I told you I knew it, but I'm so glad I am not the only one. This is so cool. This is why the bully feels good and bullied feel drained empty. This is also why some people feel so sucked dry and go to monastery. With God you get the energy slowly but constantly, and while there is minimal interraction so that other monks or nuns would not suck any other dry. But if we all took the energy from God only and gave it to ones whe respect, the respected would lift to new levels and others would live their life happy. We are not in need of arguing, fighting and bullying.

Be careful about assuming that the skills, talents, and supports you've had in your situation will be the same for the other individual. I've had many people offer me poor advice based on what they think is a "similar" situation, yet many factors surrounding the two situations were different. Sadly, some people don't see this and insist their solution is THE perfect remedy.

Before seeing this, I think I know this, I will comment again after seeing this. I say this, I know the bibble especially old testament, and I haven't read it nearly all. I know some thing is some conversation. and when we go check it up, I was right. It's like I know the word of God in my heart. Also many of the explaining what it means. I don't know all, but I do know much about God, because I have died and come back to life. The reason I cannot tell it all, tho I have told many my story, even in youtube comments, is that I don't want to spoil all the joy of finding. Not to mention the meaning of it all.

This is an overall excellent video that is meant to make a thoughtful person think even more deeply. However, as a Christian, permit me to add a bit of further elucidation to your gloss of "Christian teachings about guilt." You summarized a commonly repeated nutshell version of the Roman Catholic Catechism on the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis. Yet Roman Catholicism is not the totality of Christian theology. There are ongoing disagreements that date back to the earliest days of the Christian Church as it began to self-organize (in Jerusalem, as described in the Book of the Acts of the Apostles, originally composed in the vernacular Greek, meaning in a language not dissimilar from a modern newspaper for intelligent people, such as the NYT daily edition, by Saint Luke, a Greek - not a Jew - who was from Antioch and apparently well-educated, because he was trained in many disciplines, including in medicine (for which he was most famous; I suspect he was the Family Doctor, so to speak, of the large family of Joseph, who, as we know from the so-called "Infancy Gospel" written by James, had children from his first marriage. The earliest records Christians held on to mention 7 children, 4 sons and 3 daughters, from Joseph's first, deeply loved wife, whose name was Salomé. She died young by our standards, which suggests to me that she died in childbirth - the most common cause of death for young women in that time - perhaps while giving life to that very James/Jacob). Luke describes a contentious, fractious, fascinating community in which there were plenty of disagreements between the principal male "executives" (I will call them that); there were also women who were very active, most notably Jesus's Mother, her sister (who was married to your namesake, Simon, Joseph's oldest son & head of the clan after Joseph's death), Mary Magdalene and also the sisters of Lazarus (who with Lazarus went to Cyprus). The Mother's role was deliberately played down, for lots of easily discernible reasons (none of them holy). Not very different from the way many devout men of all faiths regard the initiatives embodied in the actions and writings of Women who preach today! The Mother of Jesus (a direct descendant of Aaron, and, as we know from our modern understanding of genetics and DNA, an extraordinary human being in her own right, whether anyone likes that or not) was particularly a target of hostility and criticism from Paul (Saul) whose upbringing could not possibly reconcile him to the idea of a woman "not being subject to a man," as he explicitly declares in his Epistle to the Ephesians, that I reject as insulting, subversive, petty, inspired by envy, ignorant of the facts & ignorant certainly of the conditions of life of women & girls (who were scarcely more than slaves, unless they were the daughters of wealthy families, protected by status and doting parents/grandparents) and on balance contemptible. (The Mother was a Widow and, contrary to the norms of the time, did not marry and headed her own congregation/community, where quite possibly the teachings were subtly difference and the emphasis not so much on "guilt" but rather on "wisdom, Discernment, and love of God" - which are the antithesis of Guilt.) But feelings of guilt are indeed appropriate: we would not have them, we would not feel deep regret for shameful failures, the most shameful of all being ingratitude to God and rejection or denial of God, Whose existence is obvious and manifest throughout all of Creation, were we not created to feel them. The doctrine of "original sin" is not part of the Nicene Creed, whose tenets remain, to this day, the essential principles that define adherence to authentic Christianity (and include the all-important line about God "speaking through Prophets," thereby incorporating all of the Torah into the Christian canon). But the Nicene Creed was agreed upon three centuries after the Christian Pentecost; furthermore, it says nothing whatsoever about "original sin," guilt or the Adam & Eve dialogue with God. It is simply not an essential, core belief that is any kind of Sine Qua Non of Christianity. I doubt very much that the views of the first generation of the Principal Apostles (Peter, Paul, etc.) were at all different from yours in the matter of the Fall and Expulsion from Paradise, Rabbi Simon. But is that adequate for the modern age? Is it not better to accept, with so many human beings alive today and so much violence and extreme levels of fraud & deceit that we see everywhere, turning Billions of perfectly decent ordinary folk of all faiths into Victims, wrecking their lives permanently, through rape or thievery or racketeering of various types (including brainwashing, as by the Nazis-Hitlerites or the Putinists-Stalinists) or the vice industry, narcotics, arson, etc., that much greater levels of remorse have a healing power? Is that not what Twelve-step programs are about? Are not successful marriages and also marriages that require the formal breaking of vows - for the sake of some very serious objectives, sometimes, such as to rescue a child from an abusive or dangerous household - also living, breathing libraries of completely justified remorse, regret and even guilt? I had to end my first marriage for very serious reasons, taking a step that months earlier I had considered unthinkable, that I could not possibly foresee ever happening in my life. And yet, there it was: I had married someone who had very carefully, with calculation, concealed truths about himself, truths that then emerged in shocking and heartbreaking ways. He was a coward, a liar, a habitual manipulator and a deceiver. I did what needed to be done, got out - with a religious divorce, not an easy thing to obtain so quickly after a church wedding - but to this day, of course, I do feel guilty: guilty that I gave this wastrel even the time of day, hurting myself in the process by effectively deleting a bunch of years out of my life and veering dramatically off-course. It was entirely avoidable: all I needed to do was pray more, have a slightly higher opinion of myself, assert myself to both my parents and admit, "No, this is not what I wish to do, at 26, not with this insistent, conceited man that I was never all that impressed by." Everyone makes mistakes. Does God make mistakes? Furthermore: are we God's mistake? (That is what Satan would like us to believe, of course.) Only God can have an opinion on whether or not God is happy that He created us, us specifically, these 21st century versions of the Human Being. It is irreverent even to raise that question. Someday, when each one of us meets our Maker, I suppose we might ask Him even that: however, it is not for us to know the answer now, while it is We who are being Tested by God, and not the other way around. Guilt is a healthy feeling, a completely necessary and valid one. The guilt a man feels while cheating on his wife, or a woman feels while deceiving her lover about the existence of her husband: that is a very necessary and indeed salvific feeling, because it may be the only thing that helps them escape from their own low standards for themselves, improve their own performance and thereby bring them closer to God, as well as making them better parents, and more decent human beings to others.

Why is it that ... people.... look to the written words of those who lived thousands of years ago... and yet... seek not ... in the NOW .. for the words showing God's wisdom.? Writing words .. in the NOW.. I find .. connects me to God.. for I open myself up to truth. To truly know God,.. you must allow this energy within your very existence. Not just reading... but.. Writing.. with a true desire to understand.. and a heart filled with love .. YOUR words in the NOW carry the same divinity. So says God.

Remember, our fight is not against flesh and blood, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. *The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel* . Fair warning: Jesus THE Christ is coming soooon.
