UPDATE: Apparently the focus throw and linearity of the manual focus is something you can customize using Tamron's lens utility. Mine just happened to be set to 180d and linear thanks to the person who had it before me. *cough* Lee Zavitz *cough* 🤓👍

Thanks for letting us know! Im not sure if this is the perfect lens to start with or if I should stay with Sigma 24-70 2.8. Even thinking a7iv gives me two focal ranges with that apsc crop in 4k so why not going prime?!
Thanks for the shout-out, Gerald. I send people your way that have video questions that are out of my league! You do great work.

Damn, this looks pretty impressive. 35-150 is such an odd range but way more useful than people think. Nice work as always, Gerald.

@@fred0c Right! I love my 35 1.4, thought about picking up an 85 because I wanted something longer than my 50 and the kit zoom isn’t cutting it for me because of the fstop. This lens and a 16-35 might be all I ever need. My poor wallet hahaha
Class act, with the shoutout for Dustin Abbott. He is one of my mandatory go to guys for every lens purchase. :)
Very impressed with the shout-out to Dustin. He is quite the authority in image quality. In fact, every time I review a lens, I always, with no exceptions, validate my results by cross checking with Dustin's!

Absolutely love Dustin's videos as well as yours!! I really love how much promotion for other KZreadrs you've integrated into your channel the past few years! Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome work and let you know that it doesn't go unnoticed!
This is exciting. The lens, and the fact that it's YOUR review of it. Appreciate you producing this review despite your recent comments on becoming kind of board with doing these types of videos. Can't wait to see more tech and lens reviews from the undone perspective, and or whatever else you decide to branch out or into. Thanks bro🙌🙌
So glad you recognized Dustin. One of the best on this platform

Great video as always! Loved the Dustin shoutout too, you and him are my two favourite camera content creators so it's great to see you complimenting him haha
I’ve loved Dustin’s reviews for the longest time. His reviews covering the IQ are great but he doesn’t cover video features so much.
Dustin and yourself are among the very best camera and lens reviewers on KZread or anywhere else. The dedication shown by both of you is greatly appreciated.
great that you are complementing dustin's review, which is indeed very good! thanks
Really loving the more casual, relaxed vibe of the videos as of late. Great video, keep it up!
Between your videos, and Dustin’s videos, we get pretty much everything we could ever need to know about camera gear / lenses. Great content from both of you, very informative, and well said!
Dustin Abbott really is one of the gems of KZread reviewers. But so is Gerald.
Dude so awesome to shout out Dustin, i saw his video while i waited for some larger youtubers and he was great
Dustin’s channel is awesome! Always go there for solid in depth reviews.
One of the best features of this lens is the possibility of setting A and B focus points that can be repeated by simply pushing one of the buttons on the lens. You can also set the speed which is amazing for video. I preordered the lens as soon as I heard about it and I’m super happy with it.

I was just recently saying that Dustin Abbot made really high quality content. Both of y’all are class acts.
literally saw Dustin Abbott's video before coming to yours. Such a thorough and impressive review!
OK, so I have been watching a LOT of lens review videos and this is by far the best review with the most helpful information and best production quality and least amount of fluff. Will definitely check out more!
Glad to see you're having fun with the new Tamron lens! Big shouts to Lindsey as well! She did a great job with this video as well.
Always love your videos.. Very in depth, technical and objective. Please do more vlogs. Hahaha would love to see how you use your gears outside the studio. Love from Indonesia 🇮🇩 happy holidays 🎉
I really enjoyed the format of this video. Excellent work!
Great review, and very nice name check for Dustin's channel, really nicely done !
Great shout out to DA!!! He has awesome and very detailed reviews. My lens is great at controlling breathing, very minimal if any. I'm very pleased with what this lens brings to the table. Works well on the a6600 too, very similar results!
I see what you’re doing Gerald and I think it’s amazing! 🤜🏼
That f2 with that zoom range is pretty sick. I enjoy the 24 mm focal length so starting at 35mm would be a deal breaker for me, but if you don’t care about wider than 35 this is perfect. This is like the perfect portrait lens. It’s also an amazing street photography lens if you don’t mind using zooms instead of primes.

Rather than portrait or street, this is the ultimate event lens. You need at max 2 lenses, this and a wide/uwa lens if wide is your jam.
This looks like a great walkaround lens for event photography and video. Big zoom range and wide aperture. I will definitely rent this for events. 😎
Didn't think a lens like this would be possible. When I saw the focal length & aperture a while ago for the first time I had to triple take it because this just sounds like THE perfect lens for someone like me that doesn't do architecture or landscapes
Thank you! I didn’t understand the use case for this (I have a 35, 100, and 200 prime) until you demonstrated the parfocal ability.
I can tell in your heart your a real solid dude I subbed to I just based of the love u had for another KZreadrs content that’s luv!!
You're incredible Gerald. And Dustin Abbot is also really good too. Good dude.
Thanks so much for giving Dustin a shout out man! I have always wondered why he doesn't get enough views and subscribers. I hope your video gives him the recognition he deserves!
I pre-ordered it late October and I’m so ready to get it so I can put it to the test and review it too! One day I’ll get those products early to review too! Haha love the video as always!
I am loving it and I am going to buy one.
Love that you threw love to Dustin. Well done.
I see this lens being really good for multiple camera shoot for event. Where one can be on the wide shoots with a 16-35 and the other can film all the tight/telephoto shoot with this 35-150!
Was looking for a 24-105ish alternative and this might be it! Thanks for the amazing work as usual, Gerald!
Great review for a great lens! Thanks Gerald!
Thank you Gerald :) really enjoy your honest reviews :).
Dustin’s channel is another great one! 🙂
Please can we all take a moment to appreciate tremendous catch at 11:06! Everything was so smooth and seamless - hilarious!
This focal range is pretty great. It would be perfect for shooting events (photos) with that aperture range, and it would also be fun for travelling! Will definitely check out Dustin’s video as well, thanks for putting him on our radar!
Interesting! Cool video. Thank you for sharing it ✌️

This seems ridiculously good, and it's perfectly suited what I shoot. I'll definitely be buying this.
I love that you shout out other creators! That’s how I got out in to Tight Shirt Terry
Good job Tamron! Fantastic review G!
Hey Gerald, love your very in depth reviews about photo/filmgear. Regarding the focusthrow on this lens, you could've mentioned that you can change the way this lens focuses with the Tamron Software for this lens. I think you can even set it to linear 360° :)
I absolutely love the ending bloopers 😄 made my day
Way to go Gerald nice review and way to give another KZreadr props. Dustin Abbott is awesome he does reviews in two and three parts depending on the product. Both of you do an awesome job and have earned the respect of the KZread community. With Dustin covering his part and you covering the other part, nothing was left Undone.

Great video 👍😌👍 I really enjoyed watching it.
I’m really impressed… when I first heard about this lens, I really really had my doubts. It seemed too good to be true. Seems like it holds up! Definitely considering it a lot
Hi Gerald, is this lens compatible with gyro stabilization in catalyst browse?
My dealer called me up this morning to tell me that this lens is finally coming my way! Good to see the Rev mentioned in this video 😎
Great review, thanks
Do you think the focus would keep up for indoor sports better vs Tamrons own 70-180? Ideally the Sony 70-200 ii would be ideal but it’s a significant jump in price? But I would love that broader focal range.
Been watching DA for quite some time, dude is awesome
Thanks for the shout out for Dustin Abbott ! He's a great part of the KZread review mix.
Thanks again, Gerald. One of my main draws to Sony is the variety of Sigma and Tamron lenses available.
Any idea how this would function with a Sony a7m4 on a DJI rsc 2 gimbal or is it too long and/or heavy? Thanks
I usually use 24-70mm zoom lenses due to their flexibilty. For situations like interviews and closeups, this lens could be a nice add on, especially on a second cam or a large cam (as the FX6) on a tripod, which is heavy in itself. Thanks for your revue!
Thank you Gerald :) I'm slowly moving over from Lumix to Sony. I just picked up the Sony A7III, so looking for a few lens. This helped a lot thank you bro.
Will this work on a weevil 2 stabilizer with the focus ring? Be nice if you can do a video on stabilizers handle this hybrid lens.
Bravo to Tamron for this lens and to Gerald for this video.
Will you also make a review of the Tamron 28-75 G2? Thanks
Thanks for your coverage of this lens, Gerald. I'm experiencing a strange problem with the 35-150 that I can't find the answer to. It seems when I use this lens with a variable ND, the image goes soft at the telephoto end. For example, the eye AF on my Sony A7Siii says the image is in focus, but when I look at the image file, it's blurry. This only happens when I zoom in, like over 100mm or so. But when I remove the variable ND, the image this lens produces is sharp. I'm flummoxed. Any ideas for me?
awesome review as always! I had a feeling that hood toss was a multitake one. lol
I don't even care if I can't afford the gear, I just hit the like and enjoy Gerald videos ever 🤗
Thank you G. Do you think you can cut between this lens and other manufactures lenses? Sony, Sigma etc
what an interesting concept for a lens!
Gerald, thanks 🙏 for your great content as always!👍 Love to watch your content! Concerning this lens...unfortunately I am not impressed and sent it back to my dealer. May I got a bad one but never the less the sharpness starting at 130mm decreased dramatically and the vignetting was crazy. Thank's and greetings, Enno
LOVE the lens and want to purchase one but can't find it anywhere. Any ideas why that is? And any thoughts best place to buy or preorder, if I could? Thanks!
I wonder how this lens works with FX3. This would be the perfect combo for concerts (or any stage events). Shot concert on 24-105 F4 on S35 ... this is exactly the same range but 1-2 stops faster ... and most 24-105 got terrible focus breathing ... I'm very curious.
What about the no OSS? Did it affect any shots negatively or do you find that it isn’t really necessary with active stabilization?
Great video, thanks very much!! Is not having a image stabilizer an issue if I use Sony a74 with this lens ?
Sir can I use this lens on bmpcc 6k pro. I use dji rs2 gimbal as this lens lack stabilization. I shoot wedding. Would you recommend this lens for bmpcc 6k pro
Loved the vid, info, and topic! Thanks. Interesting that this video, totally aside from the camera, shows just how rough the codec on youtube is ( or has become). that banding is ... crazy 5 mins on.

To be clear, it's the background ( look at the upper left).
I got this lens a few days ago, havnt had much time to play with it but my first impressions are its a great lens as long as you dont need to change focus length while shooting. I found that the FPS stutters if you are zooming in/out while shooting. And the focus will not lock onto a moving subject if you are zooming in/out while shooting. If I burst and use the back focus button its better, but def not as good as a sony GM 70-200 which can shoot and track while zooming with no issues. Am I the only one with this issue?
I love super zooms. This makes me excited for the future.
I can't get over how well lit your hair is!
Yep, I’ve been watching and have been subscribed to Dustin Abbott for at least a year now. He makes very thorough videos on lenses and other camera gear.
