I am a Tibetan living as a refugee in India. And this is so right. Many people don't know this but His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama (the leader of Tibet) was thrown out of his own country,Tibet, along with millions of Tibetans. STILL the Chinese government tortures, destroys homes, language, culture, religion and beliefs of Tibetans living in Tibet and even refugees all around the globe . But the question is "Do we even deserve this?!" As Tibetans we strive for peace and advocate kindness and love. But knowing that the Chinese people don't EVEN KNOW what their government did to us and their own people is so heart breaking. EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW WHAT THEY DID. So,thank you for making this video,Project Nightfall.

@@heinrichhimmler3781 No. Mao Zedong and the CCP claim they defeated the Japanese, they did not. The Chinese Nationalist Party defeated the Japanese while Mao and the communist hid up in the mountains. Upon the nationalists winning, they came down and cleaned up. The CCP then put many brutal and harsh policies on their own people, killed multiple innocent Chinese, and caused cannibalism. The CCP then claimed they took millions out of poverty. That is true! However, they are the ones who put them in poverty in the first place. Mao and the communists are a bunch of liars, it's no wonder why China has not started booming in recent decades. Capitalism. China became freer and freer and started letting its citizens buy, and make money. Many companies started to take advantage of cheap Chinese labor, which started an economic boom. So no, as you can see, it was not mao Zedong that made China great. It was capitalism that started to take place within the country that started an economic boom. You can label it as western lies and anything you want, but it's the truth. If you don't believe me, maybe leave China and look over the great firewall.

I am now actually risking my life to talk about him since it is illegal to talk bad things about Mao in China. He causes massive starvation in China and killed millions! And that is why my grandfather’s father escaped to Hong Kong, which is at that time a part of United Kingdom. But until today,in the textbooks of Chinese history, the young ones, including me,who is 13 years old,are taught that he is a hero.

As a person who's elder generation is positively affected, it's hard for me to agree with you. Of course there is no right or wrong in politics, which is why I wanna make my point: The great Chinese Famine's biggest factor was actually drought, and Mao's land reform policy actually helped my family. Mao grew up poor, it's highly unlikely that he never grew hatred on the rich. It's the reason he opposes Nationalists so much, because the majority of them were made up of rich people. I'm not based, which is why I've considered my grandparent's thoughts on mao, and sources like 《中国水旱灾害》which concluded droughts happened during that period. Of course, I can't change people's ideas. Not everyone's families were poor at one point and I get it. I just wish people to make critical arguments more sincerely, and not just ignore the actual reason which things happened. The one thing he did do wrong was a revolution that wasn't even mentioned. The Cultural Revolution was the only factor that negatively affected the majority of the Chinese population. My grandma's father wasn't Han (ethnic group and the majority of Chinese population) and was forced to change his ethnic
