    there's another one similar to this, Infi75 Lite. Apart from missing the in-built display, is the board quality exactly the same as keep out edition in terms of sound signature? I'm looking to buy so that knowledge will be huge for me.

    Any manufacturers that make such a nice keyboard and leave out qmk/via is an idiot. They literally cut 30 to 40 percent of their potential buyers out.

    Where do you get 30-40% from?

  • @thestreamreader

    @thestreamreader

    @@keebdude i have 10 friends that buy keyboards and none of them will buy a board that doesn't support qmk/via. They have 10+ boards each. Couple of them are nearing 30. So that is my sample size. Now I would say the number of people with 10+ boards is lower so I cut my sample of 100% down to 30% of buyers may have 10+ boards. Then add to the fact that Keychron, Fekker, Cidoo, Finalkey and the like are now at least supporting via but not QMK. Even the RK61 supports it and its a $45 dollar board. Even Keychrons cheap line is supporting it. This tells me the market is at least 30%. Hell Keychron did a 180 and started supporting it on anything new going forward. Anything near $100 should support it for sure.

    @@Pat315 I get that it's more of an analogue, but besides adjusting the 'actuation point' what makes the term "hall effect" far more superior on a keyboard. I could see very precise sensing such as thumb sticks/joy sticks, keys though I just don't know. I'm genuinely curious.

    @@Charles-Darwin - Durability - Consistent key feel - Water/Dust resistant - Smoother operation - Faster response times - More precise actuation - Reduced FALSE actuations. This is not an exhaustive list of benefits but it's just some of the benefits over a traditional mechanical keyboard. Everyone serious about keyboards/gaming will move to these keyboards in the future - especially as they become more affordable. They are fundamentally better in almost every possible way.

    @@Pat315 I don't own a mechanical yet, what would you recommend as a starter hall effect keyboard? I like the sound of and what I think would be enjoyable to use are those akko penguins for switches. since Info on boards, keys, switches etc are very difficult to navigate, do you know of a HE switch that would be comparable to the penguins?
