To quote a childhood icon, "Fascinating." I so appreciate the research you do and have learned much. I wouldn't mind trying one or two of the other Victory Series puzzles.

Wow! I love this video! 💗 so very interesting about the pieces from other 1940s puzzles! How cool if someone sees this and has the puzzle with the missing pieces - epic! Also, I love when puzzles have the shape pieces!

Oh wow. I never expected to see an actual WW2 puzzle. It seemed to be in a camo color theme. Love these historical aspects you present which gives the puzzle hobby a depth. Thank you!

My goodness what a fantastic puzzle! To even find it at all is amazing and for its age it is still in reasonable condition. Even though there are pieces missing it doesn't detract from its historical significance. A puzzle to treasure and keep safely stored. The oldest puzzle I have is a 60 piece wooden one depicting Queen Elizabeth 2nd's Coronation in 1953 and it is complete. 😊

@@puzzlephile Yes all the pieces are in good shape with no damage to any of them. It's one of those puzzles that you can make in the box if you wish to. The puzzle measures 5.5" x 7" and the box is 8" x 6.5". The picture depicts the gold State coach being drawn by eight white horses with uniformed attendants wearing red, gold and white uniforms. People lining the route on either side and the coach is going through Admiralty Arch. If you google King Charles coronation coach, it's gold, you can see what it looks like.

What a magnificent historical testimony! And what a beautiful puzzle too! Indeed, as you say, the puzzles in the series, even if they depict scenes of war, do so in an artistically refined way that makes the theme less brutal and violent. Bravo for this nice find! And the fact that some of the pieces are missing, far from detracting from its beauty, gives it added cachet as an antique and a witness to history. After all, no one goes through time without a few bumps and bruises 😊

Cool puzzle.....My Dad served in all of WW 2. He served aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise aircraft carrier. He saw a lot of action. Pearl Harbor, Midway, Okinawa and Doolittle's raid on Japan but mostly he didn't talk about it.

My Dad also served on the USS Enterprise later in the mid 60’s. It’s definitely an interesting puzzle and glad it found an owner to appreciate it!

@@AnnAmbler The Enterprise from the 60's I believe is a different ship of the same name. The original ship was decommissioned after the war and sold for scrap.

Military may not be your jam but neither are baskets of kittens !

Such an interesting piece of history. Military propaganda and bomb whimsies are not my thing either, but I agree with you that the design of the puzzles is remarkable. Thanks for sharing it with us, and for the little side tutorial on repairing pieces too!

This is fun because I just bougt a vintage puzzle of the same brand in a thrif store and I also had extra pieces from at least 3 or 4 other puzzles. There where around 20 pieces missing of the actual puzzle. How this happend? So mysterious lol! But it was really fun to solve.
