These are excerpts from a video prepared for the 2020 Arrive Alive Virtual Conference. Officers were asked to read excuses that drivers often use to convince themselves to drive while impaired. These reactions are their unscripted responses upon reading the excuse.
Impaired Driving is a serious criminal offense and responsible for collisions and deaths on roads everywhere. If you’re going to drive make sure that you’re sober to avoid being arrested or worse injuring or killing yourself or others. The Toronto Police works to stop Impaired Driving by drugs or alcohol through education and enforcement initiatives. In addition to vehicle stops, RIDE programs Canada is now employing Mandatory Alcohol Screening MAS allowing officers to demand a sample of a drivers breath to test for alcohol without the requirement os suspicion.
