THIS IS WHY YOU TRAVEL SERBIA 🇷🇸 SOMBOR

After traveling to many cities in Serbia I have absolutely fallen in love with Sombor. The 18th and 19th Century center makes this one of the most beautiful cities in the whole country and one you can't miss while traveling here. From the tasty street snacks to the friendly people I cant wait to visit this city again.

That tree is called "badnjak" and that is Serbian tradition to put those in front of house doors for Christmas, and that tradition has roots from times when Serbs were pagans so its pretty old tradition which Serbs kept. And kajmak is not pork fat hahahahah, kajmak is milk product but very unique one. All the best !

Hey bro, happy to see that you've enjoyed my hometown! I'd love to give you a tour the next time you come. Or let me know if you're still here?? Probably not couse I assume this was filmed in January. Anyway, you should definitely come again and see a canal, ride a bike and check out the main street at summer evenings. 😎 Btw, the three branches are from our sacred three "hrast" (oak). We bring it in our home for Christmas and it's believed that it brings happiness, health, money etc. Also, there's usually a big ceremony during the Christmas Eve when the Hrast three is set on fire and burning at the city square. Wish you all the best, thanks for the beautiful video! Visit Sombor again ❤✌

Hey I am glad you liked it! I live there heh, not sure is it most beautiful place here but I like it. That thing in beginning is old city hall, not art museum (but we have like 3 of this I think, culture here is really important thing, theater especially and art galleries ). There are few more things to see there and it is better in summer or spring when everything is very green. Well still, I hope you had fun. All the best!

Just aome of the recomendations i have: on that same market place called "Market in chains" you have lot of domestic homemade cheese. Go and try it. ;) Sombor is, or was the most famous city making tje best cheese in the area. Also if you go in any of the bakery in city center (for me personally the best one is bakery called " Kod Dva Brata") try some Burek. Hope you'll enjoy it ;)

Just to explain what is Kajmak (Kaymak). Kajmak is clean milk fat, the milk stands for a while, boils... and then a layer of milk fat is created you pick up the layer and valla you get Kajmak. So Kaymak is not cheese, cream cheese and what else I heard more, its 100% milk fat, its creamy in its nature and a very unique product from Serbia.

Kajmak is a dairy product. It’s just a milk fat that is accumulated and aged. When you have raw milk it needs to be pasteurized and you do that by cooking it(boiling). Than when it cools down a layer of milk fat will appear on the top. That gets scooped out every time and once you add salt it is ready to go. You have so called “young kajmak” and “old kajmak” depending on the aging process. Nobody in the world makes it except Serbia, it is not butter or cream cheese, process of making and flavor is totally different.
