Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we go for a drive with thatxr8guy! this is his 2009 FG BOSS 290 XR8 Ute, now fully transformed with a Supercharger & supporting mods.. this is an expensive build but my god.. its worth the price in the end.. what do you think about this modified FG XR8 Ute?? -Upgraded ford racing timing chains and guides from Herrod performance
-Mellings oil pump gears
- Eaton performance 1.9L supercharger
- 4inch cold air intake
- Rear cylinder head coolant overflow
Tuned on 98&E85 by realdyno performance
- MFP supercharger cooling kit
Driveline:
-Built 2 piece taishaft (800hp rated) supplied and fitted by universal driveshafts
-Torque lock true trak 3:9 diff gears fitted by harts transmissions
-NPC Cushion ceramic 520kw clutch kit

-Xyz 6 pot 18 inch big brake kit with 355mm
-328mm territory PBR upgrade rear brakes

Nice car I am a holden man but over the years I have learned to respect both it looks and sounds amazing as these early 2000 cars are old now and hard to see one in good shape that’s not clapped out. I hope to have my own Ute looking something like this one day

Iam the same. Personally I like Holden sedans more then most Ford's but really liking Ford's utes over the last few years. Would absolutely get one if I could!
Great review of the Ute, Ross. I really like the colour and what he has done to it. The supercharger sure has made a difference. It sounds great too. Very quick off the mark for a Ute. Another car I’ve followed on Instagram for a while now. Glad to finally see a video on it. Really enjoying your Queensland reviews.

Still dont care that the 6 turbos are faster in stock form. These boss engines ... ( especially with boost ) and with a killer exhaust set up like max's just sound like nothing else and to me thats the winning ticket. This things has got to be one of the best sounding cars iv ever heard ... PERIOD. Was great to finnally see the review thats for sure awesome stuff lads 👌🤘

Rather the sound of a cammed and charged Ls. Nothing beats that choppy thump
Definitely my favourite ute build I've seen, been following Max via Zac achieve his dream of supercharging his ute for the past 3-4 years (ever since the 382HP days), and he deserves to live it 100%. Keep it up Maxxy! Never sell that beast!

It is a kind of sleeper cars with big V8 engines, raw sound and also most of the time with a manual gearbox. Amazing !!! Here in Germany sadly V8 engines disappear more and more, because of the crap government. Please continue with your car reviews :)

Loved the video, have a xr8 260 manual with the exact same supercharger Eaton 122 that I did 10 yrs ago, maximum I could get out of it on E85 at 14 lbs of boost was 600 hp at the wheels with a stock bottom end, last time I drove it was to summernats as an entrant 2017, been sitting in my shed ever since, this year it's going back on the rd with an ex v8 ute racing motor newly built in it.

Love the sound of 5.4 BOSS with full exhaust system. It would have been good if Ford Super Charged BOSS engine like they Turbo the 4.0 ( Barra ).

So iv landed here a year late but only because Iv just bought what I believe to be the only FPV Gs Ute in MANUAL in the UK with 606bhp 😁 absolute psychos ain't they 😂❤

honestly in a manual it's pretty hard to put the power down best I can probably do in my VE SS manual rebuilt with a cam and Higgins heads and forged pistons is about 5.5 seconds although it has a stock intake and exhaust, and there's not many places you can let me rip these days. If the car is fun to drive and sounds good that's what really matters.

Agree. It’s getting tiring hearing the excuses and caveats. Powerful RWD cars above 330rwkw are going to be Hyundai I30N slow - I have accepted it, everyone else needs to get used to it

@@willm687 This is a custom ute and done very nicely, It is his ride, who cares unless you are a buyer and want a stock FPV and once you modify a FPV, it is not 100% FPV anymore. Personally I would take this over a stock FPV 290 ute any day.
