Hi Brenda, thank you for speaking on the importance of Christian community. With brothers and sisters in Christ whom we are in fellowship with, we have a great resource. We can be helpers, one to another, in many important ways. This is why God stresses relationships. First with Him, then with one another. Beautiful teaching! Thank you 😊

Isolation, yes, no matter what I try I can't change anything. No one wants to hang out with me, there are no new people, the old company is gone. Some were removed by God, some by me. There is no Christian community in my area. People go to church, and then go to drink, gossip, curse, etc. I can't hang out with those people. I fight alone as best I know and can with the help of Jesus. Thank you and God bless you.

Regular socializing is over rated any way and for small minded people who think otherwise. Get to work and make important accomplishments like Jesus did. Then you will forget you ever had a "need" to socialize so much.

3:48 I am one of those lone rangers Sister. I don’t like it very much but I’ve had bad experiences in the past where certain church pastors all they want to do is sing five songs for 30 minutes preach to 40 minute message and then go home after they take your donation. I think you gotta find the right people that have the same common goal before you start community. I have left a couple of churches and left a bad taste in their mouth because I didn’t agree with what they were preaching. God bless you in the name of Jesus.

Happy Monday Brenda! This is an excellent topic you have chosen to speak about. You've done an awesome job explaining the importance of community. I would like to see you continue the discussion by addressing how a person finds a good Christian community. I find many individuals struggle with this and often find themselves dissapointed in the community they are in. Perhaps you can list a few things to look for in a good Christian community. I leave you with this beautiful quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. "Every Christian community must realize that not only do the weak need the strong, but also that the strong cannot exist without the weak. The elimination of the weak is the death of fellowship." Have a wonderful week Brenda!😊

First of all, many churches no longer use the Bible to preach, more the opinions of whoever is speaking. I’m 60 and I have read my Bible several times all by myself because I love Jesus. I got more doing it that way. I have gone through many many tragic events, just me, Jesus and his Holy Word. I don’t follow man or religious groups. I follow Jesus and I live as close to being obedient as I can. I am happily married and he is a good man. He does believe in Jesus. But thanks for your concern, but I don’t mind living as I do. I have no very few friends and not looking for any. My experience is, more people in your life, the most chaos involved. I’m all set, been through too much to open that door. Have a nice day.😊

I'm only 44 and yet I felt the same way, and still kind og do see how apostate the modern church has become, but it doesn't change what Jesus calls us to go out and make Disciples and community. If not accepted, we brush the dust off our feet and depart but we are called to try and to be the light. Remember, he says there two or more are gathered in his name and since coming back to Him 5 years ago after a dark period and divorce I'm teyi g to be more like Jesus and love even my enemies or those that hate me. Church I grew up in and fell away from in middle school did come and help me when I lost my daughter 18 years ago due to my ex. It's possible to find the community, but it takes discernment because Remember we're not meant to be alone.

@@Johnrider1234 Amen Brother, but the version of the Bible is NOT important. You are born Again by God the Holy Spirit that's why you can see and say that YHWH is YESHUA/EL SHADDAI Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 12:3/John 6:37-47 Imagine that you are somewhere in Asia or in Africa and the only Bible you can get is NWT/JW's translation. Even though they are sect and reject the deity of Christ, we still see the deity of the Son of God very easy, because we are SAVED. John 20 NWT/JW's 28 In answer Thomas said to him: “My Lord and my God!” Jeremiah 1 NWT 4 The word of Jehovah came to me, saying: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew* you,+ And before you were born* I sanctified you.*+ I made you a prophet to the nations.” 6 But I said: “Alas, O Sovereign Lord Jehovah! I do not know how to speak,+ for I am just a boy.”*+ 7 Jehovah then said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am just a boy.’ For you must go to all those to whom I send you, And you should say everything that I command you.+ 8 Do not be afraid because of their appearance,+ For ‘I am with you to save you,’+ declares Jehovah.” 9 Then Jehovah stretched out his hand and touched my mouth And Jehovah said to me: “I have put my words in your mouth. lol.. do you see that? The WORD of YHWH comes to Jeremiah and tells him that he is chosen before his birth to be a prophet to the nations. And look how the prophet responds... “Alas, O Sovereign Lord Jehovah! I do not know how to speak,+ for I am just a boy... the prophet calls the WORD of YAH - Sovereign LORD.. but the verse 9 is so clear... Who came to the prophet Jeremiah? the Word of Jehovah. The Bible tells us and shows us that you never know when an Angel or Christ comes as a stranger, so ppl shouldn’t just assume I am wrong. No offense but I proudly and gladly stand by myself if ppl do not admit I am Christ publicly and obey. I have proven it definitively and the miracles are figurative. Isaiah 30:30 is key in understanding why the Cloud that Christ (as a character in the story) comes back on is figurative.

Christianity does not do that, or at the very least makes it so much harder. It's extremely difficult to have new ideas and inspirations when you believe so many of life's answers can be found in a book written thousands of years ago.

....and 6 great reasons why you DON'T NEED Christian Community. 1. The Crusades were a series of religious wars initiated, supported, and sometimes directed by the Christian Latin Church in the medieval period. The best known of these military expeditions are those to the Holy Land in the period between 1095 and 1291 that had the objective of reconquering Jerusalem and its surrounding area from Muslim rule after the region had been conquered by the Rashidun Caliphate centuries earlier. 2. The Inquisition was a powerful office set up within the Catholic Church to root out and punish heresy throughout Europe and the Americas. Beginning in the 12th century and continuing for hundreds of years, the Inquisition is infamous for the severity of its tortures and its persecution of Jews and Muslims. Its worst manifestation was in Spain, where the Spanish Inquisition was a dominant force for more than 200 years, resulting in some 32,000 executions. 3. The Salem Witch Trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than 200 people were accused. Thirty people were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging. One other man, Giles Corey, died under torture after refusing to enter a plea, and at least five people died in jail. 4. The Peoples Temple Agricultural Project (affiliated with the Disciples of Christ), better known by its informal name "Jonestown", was a remote settlement in Guyana established by the Peoples Temple, an American cult under the leadership of Jim Jones. The death toll exceeded 900, including some 300 who were age 17 and under, making the incident one of the largest mass deaths in American history. 5. The Canadian & the U.S. Indian Residential School System was a network of boarding schools for Indigenous peoples. The network was funded by the Canadian and U.S. government's Department of Indian Affairs and administered by "Christian" churches. The school system was created to isolate Indigenous children from the influence of their own culture and religion in order to assimilate them into the dominant Canadian and U.S. cultures. Hunger. Starvation. Beatings. Ill-clothed in the cold of winter. Forbidden to speak their Native tongues. Sexual predators roaming the dormitory halls in the middle of the night like wild animals searching for prey and snatching youngsters from their beds. Such was the lot of thousands of Indigenous children in the heyday of the Indian boarding school era which stretched from the 1870s to the 1960s in the United States and Canada. An estimated 150,000 Native children were forcibly taken from their families during this time span and held in these schools. Of this number, it is estimated that 10,000 to 25,000 children, including toddlers, perished in Canada. In the U.S., there are already estimates that as many as 40,000 died in these so-called schools. 6. There have been thousands of cases of sexual abuse of children by priests, nuns, and other members of religious life in the Catholic and other Christian churches. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the cases have involved many allegations, investigations, trials, convictions, payments, acknowledgement and apologies by Church authorities, and revelations about decades of instances of abuse and continuing attempts by Church officials to cover them up. So you can keep your historically evil Christian Community far from my doorstep!

You ever heard of the saying "history is a set of lies agreed upon"? Or "history is written by the victor's) both of the statements are much more true than you probably think... I mean even if what you're saying is entirely true (which I doubt) it doesn't mean that the rest of humanity is innocent doves in comparison. Any major organizations are guilty of violence in their history. Witches are surely responsible for millions of deaths throughout history, but it's popular to always see them as the victim. Wars would not be possible with out witch craft.

Everything you said is also largely if not more so true with Muslims and atheists, responsible for probably about a billion deaths between the 2 through out all history. Hoffy1955, this has certainly happened in history. Remember one thing if nothing else, this is not who Jesus was, had they followed Jesus Christ and his example, none of those things would have happened. Problem is, people are following men instead of Jesus. Ignoring what is taught in Scripture, instead of actually reading their bibles and living it. I can certainly understand your disgust with what evil men have done to others, especially the precious children that we were gifted from the Heavenly Father to provide for and protect. Don’t blame Jesus for the sin of men, remember Jesus was also tortured and died on the cross for us. He isn’t the one who committed those crimes. Some may call themselves Christians, but are they really? In my world, real Christians follow Jesus and really try to live His teachings in scripture. Remember, we are warned in scripture that even satan comes disguised as an angel of light. The people who followed those religious organizations were wrong to do those things to people. How people are convinced by anyone to even entertain such behavior is beyond me. So I hear you, I understand your concerns with organized religions. So was Jesus back in His time, He stood up to the priesthood and leaders, trying to correct their behavior too. I chose to follow Jesus and His message in scripture, not men, not religious organizations or groups that condone hate and violence. I’m all set with nonsense of that nature.
