I started playing last month and I decided to get the plus+ and I definitely do not regret it! I work at a mall and so the exact location that I am at, can reach 4 stops and 1 gym. I just keep the plus+ in my pocket all day and I come back and see that I gained 300+ items :) I also really enjoy how I can focus on walks with friends without my phone in my hand all the time.

Rule #1. NEVER look at your journal when using an auto-catcher. Most will flee. And there is no way I’d be using red balls during Gofest. I have 1300 blue balls saved up for this exact purpose in NYC.

The one takeaway of using the autocatcher is be ready to get lots of flees and 25xp. On first go, I averaged about 375xp from about 15 fleeing pokemon. I just generally use Go Plus+ for items, as it's especially useful to have in your pocket while walking around.

Just can't use autocatcher mode, have to manually press the button. Which isn't terrible, just something you have to remember. Autocatcher is basically only a good option if you're not going to be able to push the button or play otherwise because then no matter what it's a net gain bc you wouldn't have caught anything anyways (like if you're driving or something)

I took my go plus plus with me to Osaka but I used it when I was travelling on the train, and in the city where it was too hot to stop and check everything. I must admit I didn’t check the journal but I did get a few good shinies. My thinking is I wouldn’t have been manually checking anyway at those times so all the catches were a total bonus. Also want to thank you for actually stopping and having a chat to me on Friday at the park. It was very kind of you knowing how limited the park play experience was. You made my day. the thing i think about with the Plus +, is that yes you might lose the shiny, but if you weren’t gonna click the pokemon anyway then there’s no harm and no foul

It still seems weird to me that we would get a device to play the game for us. Love seeing the squad together. Reversal in the background of everyone's videos is one of the highlights of this GoFest for me.

The way I think about it, the point of the game is to walk and socialize, and I think this enhances the experience since you don't have to look at your phone all the time. Me and my girlfriend play a lot, and now we enjoy it even more when we go out for hikes and walks, cause we can just go plus and keep the phone in our pockets and enjoy the real world and each other, and still catch a lot of pokes 😁

That's a rare use for th device. You usually have it going when you don't have time or cant play the game. When your at work or driving around and this thing is catching shinys...yeah it's pretty cool

On my way to school this morning I hatched a 100 percent iv sewaddle.

A shundo in the wild is rare...to catch it on a plus plus..therefore...poke ball...holy hell!!!! So happy for you!

Every time I have turned on my Go Plus+ since getting mine, I have auto caught a shiny to some degree.

You always have to weigh the good vs. the bad. They are great with a ton of spawns, but the 1 ball toss is a gamble

It’s increased my game play loads, it’s actively catching and spinning during times I’m not actually playing myself. Iv already had several hundos and shinies, whilst driving around for work, when I’d usually have the game closed.

you can increase your chances with great ball and ultra ball, but you have to manually press it

With all the Unown, it may have been helpful to set it to Ultra Ball and press the button for all the catches

Came here to say this. You do need to check on it every once in a while to check bag/storage space and be sure it’s still connected. But it’s totally worth not having to stare at your phone the whole time.

Or you could just let the Go Plus+ spin stops and you focus on catches. Hahaha. I feel the sting for when shiny mons run, so for big event, I would always recommend cutting down your “work” in half and letting the Go Plus+ settle at least the stop spinning.

Having your first caught shiny being a shundo on the go plus plus is insane!

I've had go plus and gotcha, but I recently started playing again and got my go plus+ just in time for this goomy event. The ability to focus on quick catching while my plus+ spins the stops for me, I had so much more fun. So many more catches!

Frickin Nick and Rev with the wigglet plushie(s?) has had me dying all weekend. 😂 Definitely bringing my not-go plus to New York next week but probably only to spin stops.

The pokemon Go plus + has been great for me so far. It usually keep it on during the day and passively catch pokemon, when otherwise I wouldn't have pokemon go open. Its also great when out with the family and don't have to be constantly have my phone out. I used it for the froakie event last weekend, and exclusively used my plus + to catch froakies as I walked around town with my family. I ended up with 10 shiny froakies and only checked my app every once in a while to complete tasks and make sure my plus + was still connected.

Amazing work Tom. Been contemplating a go plus plus but have always had issues connecting the catch devices to my phone. Still may consider it though

For events I use go plus + to spin stops while I hand catch Pokémon. If I can’t pay attention to phone then I auto catch cause I wouldn’t have any of those Pokémon. Totally worth it.

I caught my first ever shundo Galarian Darmanitan at London go fest 2023. Awesome day but I found I got my shinys after the main event.

A good tip to catch alot is using the quick catch method with the go plus while its catching one you click on another and youll catch possibly 2 at the same time

I really like the Go + Plus. I've used a Go Plus for years and the auto catch and auto spin are way better than having to click the button constantly (especially when driving). I've used the Go Plus for community days and other events before, but I don't recall any shinies ever running although I also don't always check the journal. For Go Fest Global I may use it when I'm driving home since I'm not spending my entire day in the park, but I'll probably use the Ultra balls and forego the auto catcher.

That’s why you leave the auto spinner on and the catcher off. The only time I might use the catcher is if I’m driving through places slowly enough to do everything and take off like Team Rocket. If you have the ability to walk or ride a bike and play then keep the catcher off. Until they allow us the super advanced settings needed to do more this is all I can fair well with while strolling through stops and gyms and raids and then there’s community days, you simply don’t use it unless you are in a real hurry for catching some but not all

I used the manual click with ultra ball option for my go fest. Had a meeting with TPC and didn't lose any shinies, but did get me 2 shinies! GG on the shundo!

Congratulations on the Shundo. I've only found one Shundo myself and that was a Vullaby that I hatched last year. I thought about getting the Pokemon Go Plus+ for Global Go Fest, but I think that I'll stick with just checking everything I can. Getting extra Shiny Pokemon is cool, but finding out how many Shiny Pokemon I've lost out on would be pretty rough. Plus, it might be kind of tricky for me to keep track of both my phone and the Go Plus+ at the same time.

Ive got a go plus (not plus plus) for the global and as i cant play the whole day, its gonna help me a lot to collect shinies if i have luck. One thing im not going to do is check journal because it doesnt serve for ajything.

Back when the Gotchas came out, I visited my family in Denver. Sis bought me one. It ended up catching my first ever shundo, plus it was my first hundo and first shiny caught with an auto catch device. PLUS it’s a really useful Pokémon, a Sneasel that’s now a best buddied, double moved, and maxed out to level 50 Weavile. Love it!

For a event like go fest you use the ultra/great ball click to catch option tom :P for trash spawns you farm dust or com day with regular

The Go Plus has situational uses that make it worth it if your an active player but for events like go fest or the region Tours where your actively shiny hunting I wouldn’t recommend using it unless you have a device that can toggle on/off catching and/or spinning stops

I feel like its for moments that you are busy, not if you have the ability to catch them or you'll be disappointed just like this. I use it when I'm on the bus or when its been really cold outside and i need my hands to warm.

I’m more of a bag person when it comes to my Plus+. I have it off to identify nearby Pokémon. That way while I’m playing or just walking around my bag is always being filled.

I find that the Go Plus + helps with the stardust. I build stardust a lot faster with it.

Avalugg is incredible in MLP. Just the regular one, little harder to run in a hax double steel meta but it is a unit

Pokemon Go ++ will only make straight throws, which misses out on having bonus catch exp for doing curve ball throws. It also has a slightly higher chance of Pokemon running away since it can’t make excellent throws and only uses basic Pokeballs. I only use it if the Community Day lands on a weekends when I have to work.

how strong is the vibration compared to the average phone vibration? i'm considering getting the Plus+ but i'm sensitive to vibrations but also don't want to open it up to disable them

interesting. i have a similar story advocating for phone shaking for eggs, except what i got was a hatched shundo bagon the night before last night

I'm also a shaken phone advocate, nothing worse than being caught 100m short of a distance milestone reward bonanza 😉

As someone who has used just about every auto catch device I feel like you started using this in exactly the wrong situation... if you have high shiny odds manual check every time if you care about what you're missing. Autocatch devices are best used in my opinion when you're resting or commuting when everything it's catching for you is a bonus. Deciding to connect an autocatcher when you're on a Pokémon specific vacation and the shiny odds and spawns are quite frankly stupid kinda baffles me. In fairness, prior to this device you couldn't see if a shiny had run and I think that's honestly a negative in terms of the psychological use of the device.

I never play the the Go Plus / Go Plus + But I do own them for auto spinning stops during events, I took mine to Go Fest Osaka and lucky I did on my play day that first Unown Burst at 9:00am I was checking the burst, checked them all except the last 2 then my phone's touch screen just died for no reason so I couldn't check that last ! Unown... so I turned on the Go Plus and it auto caught me that shiny bad boy. But yeah as Nick said DON'T EVER LOOK at that Journal. I think the rate on each catch is 50/50 and I believe the shiny rate is slightly boosted on that thing because it has a high chance of fleeing. It was a pleasure to meet you btw! (I was the Aussie guy with the long hair)

My go plus + got me a 3* shiny aero-satchel

I used it for community day and 7 shinys n maybe a random 1 or 2 and adventure week i missed 1 kabuto the plus sometimes piks up pokemon before they even appear on ur game and overall i juss shiny scheck if its not shiny i dont castch it so its good but bad at the same time lol i can make it auto catch since i dont wanna every check so its good i will juss manually use it myself on important days

I use it for pokestop spin and manually catching Pokemon since go plus+ has about 50% catch rate while manually I have 98%.

When in an event don't use the autocatch on pokemon, just use the autospin pokestop. Most mons run away and the shiny rate is just too high during an event.

I got one and I really like it.

You can fix that problem of having less pokemon run by setting it to use ultra balls or great balls. The point for me is spinning stops while driving or working. I dont see whats so great about shinys they dont even seem that rare in this game. I would much rather have a lucky or a hundo or a nundo. That is interesting looking at the journal I didnt even think about doing that.

Tom are you using ultra balls with your plus plus?

I use mine for regular events but would not for a go fest

you can make your pokeplusplus use great balls and ultra you just have to manually click the button which if you really think about it, is fine because youre just walking with that thing in your hand clicking and its satisfying to click lol

The way I look at it is this: under normal circumstances, you'd never have seen that shiny and had a 0% chance of catching it, at least this gives you at least some percentage chance of getting it.

Did something change in the code? I didn’t think shiny’s could run, I’ve never had a shiny to run from my catcher…that’s unfortunate

I have the autocatch function OFF and click the button to catch with Great or Ultra balls. Much better catch rate this way.

I use this device since it came out. I let it catch 3k pokemon a day. Sometimes have to resync. But it goes pretty ok. Ofcourse, I spoof all around but most time in zaragoza. I did not have a day with less than 6 shiny and hundo’s. The only thing I have to worry about is the catch cap and not being capped on a cday after week cap. Pokemon go plus+ is really a great spoofer gadget. Thanks, Niantic.

The pokémon Go Plus Plus has its benefits but catching pokémon is sometimes not one of them. I had a shiny Amaura flee on me right when I clicked on it but my pokey plus plus click on it first and missed. 😅 Hence why I only have it set to spinning stops.

Everything constantly running away is the reason I almost never use its auto-catch feature. It's a HUGE waste of Pokéballs and unless you're swimming in Pokéstops like in this case, you'll be out in less than half an hour with pretty much nothing to show for it. HUGE congrats on the shundo, though!! I have yet to catch a single one and I've been playing since release and actively hunt for hundo's since our community shares their location but they just refuse to be shiny.

Auto catching only works with regular balls. The point of his use was to be able to do other things and just let the ++ run in the background. Using the ++ by hand would have increased his catches, but would have resulted in him pushing the button non-stop.

I'll wait for an unofficial version that is less bulky, noisy and flashy, and let's be honest, just overall better than the official versions.
