Nice video, is there any keyboard you recommend to keep an eye out? and do any of them go on discount? At the moment I am keeping an eye out for Nuphy Halo96 and the keychron Q6 normal/pro version. But i am unsure if the switches they have is to my liking too. This is so hard to choose, lol no wonder you got a closet full of keyboards.

Monsgeek is similar to, but slightly higher quality than Keychron. Akko’s budget brand.

Simple economics: the price of (aluminium) custom keyboards can come down a whole lot if the production volumes are increased and not do runs of like 500 pieces with stuff like weights forged by elves under moonlight...

The scroll wheel is what is original on most keyboards. The knob came much later.

The keyboard is really good, but I think there are some flaws such as the asymmetrical case. But I do love the switches and the keycaps

Hi there, first time commenting here. Preferacing this post with the fact that I'm completely blind, bbut I love the sound and feel of a mechanical keyboard. I currently have a Keychron k8 original with the honestly bulky alluminum frame as well as the v1. I'm honestly in need of some help. I want a good mechanical keyboard for travel, that is hotswap but doesn't need to be modded to sound good. Looking in the 80 to 130 dollar range. 75 percent layout is something I'd like, as I use the F row all the time, using a screen reader basically makes you dependent on your keyboard for everything. Also, the keyboard needds to have the home, end, page up, page down, and preferably delete or insert so that I can modify it with sharp keys. I've tried messing around with QMK but it's not very accessible, I think I tinkered around with Via but not sure. ither way, the software doesn't seem intuitive with a screenn reader. PBT keycaps are a must, and 2.4 and bluetooth would be nice, though wouldn't mind just using bluetooth. RGB is something I obviously don't care about, but if the features there, great. And if there is an easy way to turn it off witha keystroke, that's even better! Love tactile switches, want that bump when I type! So, any help would be appreciated,

Lots of people prefer TKLs because they're smaller and leave more room for the mouse (plus being easier to carry). It's a big benefit for people with small desks, and specially for FPS gamers since you do need that extra space to aim properly sometimes. I have a 100% keyboard because I do like the numberpad for coding, but if I had money I'd buy a TKL and a numberpad separately.

@@alvin_row A fair point for sure. However, I don't even play games, I do a lot of typing and number entry. While there are a lot of nice 100% keyboards out there, there are a lot of TKL keyboards that would be really nice, and preferable over the current 100% keyboard selection, if only they would make a version with a numpad. That being said there is another matter; I have actually found a few nice mechanical (compact layout) keyboards with numpads but they were wireless.

Nice keyboard, but outrageous price. I got myself 2 mechanical keyboards thanks to Betty. I m new to this hobby, but it s nice. I got a logitech mx mechanical, low profile and also A GMMK one. One was around 60 and one was around 150. Which one do you think I use it? The 60 bucks one is way better. What i m trying to say, all this custom keyboard, they look nice and stuff, but they don't have one thing. Your own touch, customized for you. Thank you for getting me in this keyboard community. You re doing a great job Betty! And for the expensive keyboards? Well i ll keep watching your reviews for relaxation, but I ll go back to your old videos after , to learn more about how to real custom my keyboards. I like to watch the videos, but honestly 90% of all the "super budget custom" keyboards are not even available in my country, heck, all 90% of keyboards on this channel custom, budget or not - are not available. It's either some crappy membrane keyboards or overpriced Varmillo. We can get a Keychron if we're lucky.. but the rest, well, I can only watch the videos and drool out of jealousy 😅
