I ride to getaway from everyone and everything. That is not the only reason I ride but it is the main reason I bought a bike. It is comforting to know that I can getaway when I want, how I want and to where I want. Just that thought alone is comforting when life gets mundane and bloody boring.

For me, its a chance to feel alive. Really alive. It allows me to be in the moment for a while, to focus on one, real thing. The daily grind of work, chores, social obligations, etc. has a well documented negative effect on our mental health. Straddling a 200HP fire breathing monster and letting it off the leash for a few hours brings real, vibrant life back into my existence. Now that I have it, I cant ever see living without it.

I am an old woman now, even though I am still strong. I took a ride on my bike, it was the ride of a lifetime. I was leaving a bad marriage, and I was not leaving my motorcycle. I paid for it, learned how to ride it, insured it, and got my license. I got my own bike when it became apparent that my husband had a death wish and was going to kill us both. But, something fantastic happened. I fell in love with it. I experienced the Trinity quickly, and riding is in my blood forever now. I did a foolhardy thing, but a challenge had been thrown down, something I don't back away from . I am my father's daughter. I left Cape Cod in September, 1986. A hurricane was hitting Florida, and the entire eastern seaboard was slammed with torrential rain. Those were my road conditions. I made it home to Texas on a Kawasaki KZ 250 ltd, by myself in the storm. A ride like that defines who you are. If I could ride just one more time, I would die happy. Live to ride Ride to live. Ride safe, my brothers and sisters. I love you all.

A friend of mine suffered from depression and could no longer go to work and was sick for more than a year. He lost his job because of that and in the time when he was sick he started motorcycle riding because he dreamed of it for a long time. He bought himself a 15 year old Kawasaki and it was like therapy for him. Riding was the only thing that made him happy at that time. Thank god he has conquered his depression and now he still uses every free minute to ride his motorcycle. Now he's always a bit grumpy when he can't ride for a while... Riding has become my passion. I'm 31, I've been riding for 4 years now and walked away from two motorcycle wrecks, even still I have never been so passionate about something. The connection between a rider and their bike is like no other. I love cars but even they can't compare. I witnessed my dad go from battling depression and literally working, eating and sleeping to living his best life, socializing, being happy and driven because he bought a motorcycle and riding has been some of our best father and son moments. He went into the hospital with sepsis and by a miracle survived it, and is recovering and it's me and riding that give him the drive to recover and get better. My friends I ride with are some of my strongest and closest friendships. I just want to ride everyday, take long trips, and even makes the mundane exciting. When I was younger I could care less about riding but one day the bug bit me, I've never looked back.

I think that motorcycle riders of today are the cowboys of long ago who rode across the wide open spaces, sometimes in small groups or with a riding friend but mostly alone seeking out solitude on the open road. They ride into town, maybe stay for a few days but before long they tire of civilization & must return to their roaming around seeking new places. We ride out just for the sheer love of the experience, two wheel machine and rider riding on forever. As an olde guy, i still ride out nearly every day, i don't go very far but i stretch out my rides as long as possible. The day i can no longer jump on my faithful steed, will be the day i will consider life as coming to a rapid & soon end. Keep on riding boys &girls, don't let the b@#$%%ds tell you any differently. Bye now, nice video, ric, an olde rider from ontario canada. It's a rainy day here but i think i hear my bike calling me out.

I found some of my friends in my college, and we are still united because of the bike rides we did those days, and one day I met with an accident and my bike was lost, and fast forward went through a pretty bad break up with my partner, and guess what my friend took me on a bike ride, and the next month the same buddy, took me to an two wheeler show room and made me purchase the bike I needed... sometimes we find love and friendship beyond unexpected, the brotherhood I got is because of biking ❤

After multiple years of stress at the job, cancer diagnosis for my partner and the passing away of her mother due to the same cancer during the recovery of my wife I hit the wall… Brought me to a bad place that I’m now trying to get out of, restarting riding my bike has again learned me the therapeutic effect of ‘the ride’… Thank you for expressing that feeling into this video!

Some 50 plus years ago I too used the Psychology of riding the Vietnam experience out of my head. My folks stored my 1965 Harley while I was gone. Thank GOD, I made it home from that time in hell. My childhood friend and I got our bikes ready for a long ride across country to my first meeting at Sturges in 1970. My grandfather who was a great motorcyclist told me about this place he’d been too called Sturges. After a week of riding and seeing some of the most great country we made it too Sturges. Since then, when life seems more than I could deal with I still jump on my bike and clear my head. I’ve always heard, you’ll never see a bike parked in front of a Physics office. The bike is the best medicine, it worked for me when I needed help and the VA then told me to “SUCK IT UP” your government promises at work. A great many of us Vietnam Vets got NOTHING!! My Harley was my healer for me. Try RIDING not drugs…

I’m Add/Hd and have been for more than 65 years. I have a hard time with focus on a task and learning has been tough. I’ve owned a motorcycle since I was 15 and at 75 I feel like it’s been a huge help. I Have to focus on the mechanics of riding, grip, posture, toes, fingers, watching the road I want to follow. It’s a huge help. When I get off I can stay with a task better, make decisions. Life is better with riding.

I remember before I got my bike I was driving my cars alot. I love it when I pressed the throttle down and listened to my cars engine rumbling and screaming through the corners. It was fun but I felt something missing. I then got my bike. Ut was just a small midsized ADV bike with 500cc and 47 ponies. It felt small, but it was what I could afford. I took it for a spin the day after I got my license. But I was awestruck that day. Even with the small engine with two cylinders and just 500 cc ut was a beast. When riding down the sunset feeling like the bike could slide under from my feet by just a small oil spill any minute now it was life. The wind howling, the reving engine screaming between my legs, the danger of doing a mistake, the raw power and feeling that day changed me in a splitsecond. Now I enjoy every moment of my life riding. Just the 15 minutes to work is an adventure. My mental state is the best it has ever been. I am calm and enjoy to see another day so I can just feel my bike getting me from a to b. The o ly thing I need to do is trust her and of course trust myself. It's a matter of trust and knowing you are good enough. The bike made me understand I can do what I want and I just need to trust that I can do it. Don't be afraid, live in the moment and feel free. That is what I feel like when riding. I love my life because of her, my bike.

My motorcycle brought me a distraction from the darkness which had enveloped my life. Brought me an escape from myself. Now its something i do with family a few times each year. I dont care if youre on a Harley or a Honda. New or old. Smooth criminal running or all jacked n racked out. We all have our vices and reasons to ride. Enjoy the journey riders.

Riding a Bike is life, everything befor and after is just waiting. You don‘t just ride a bike, its not like a car (i‘m a car guy too, don‘t get me wrong) you don‘t just buy a bike go go somewhere, to get to a destination. You start riding a bike, because you feel something deep inside. It truly is a passion. People who never felt this, can never understand us, and thats okay for me.. its just a bit sad, that those people probably will never understand, feel or know, what a motorcycle truly is. There is not much on this planet that feels as special, as putting first gear in, and ride away. Also, lets be honest. Its this special brotherhood to the all the other riders. And thats just a tiny bit of my life, and why i love motorcycles. Great video

This is spot on. I’ve met so many new friends because of motorcycles. I’ve seen parts of American that most never will because of a motorcycle. I have been able to clear my head and enjoy some “Me” time because of a motorcycle. I’m now in my mid 60’s and in better physical shape than a lot of my non- motorcyclists friends because I ride a motorcycle. Thanks for sharing this video.

Great vid! Why I ride I would say, because more than ever we are in a world full of digital screen distraction, riding a motorcycle releases our attention or distraction, frees us from problematic thought, transcends our state of mind to a superior place. Bringing about exhilaration or progressive forefilment. Motorcycling for me is like a therapy, a day I cannot ride is a day lost!

"It lets us be us, without anyone's permission" Growing up I was never allowed to be myself and was emotionally neglected and emotionally abused. As I got older living the adult life I would find myself being criticized for being myself. I spent every moment possible on two wheels, from my bicycle to the dirt bikes and eventually to the highway bikes. I have been a loner my entire life to this very day nearly 58 years later and find it very hard to trust others. My motorcycle is my way of escaping my own head and finding peace form the anxiety and emotions I battle every day. Having no one to go through this life with or turn to is very hard, and many days feels almost impossible to want to continue on.

When I ride, my mind is calm and peaceful. As a person with ADD my head is constantly full of thoughts and it is incredibly noisy up there. It's a nonstop pinball game. When I ride all that goes away. It's just the sound and feel of the engine and wind. The scenery is so much more alive even in urban areas. After the ride my brain feels like it has reset. This is why I ride.

I drive either to go to place I most hate (work) or for place I most love (family). But, riding motorcycle always brought me to the grey area (with or to friends), to the unknown. With that feeling of exploring, I feel most alive. I don't always sure where I heading, but that just how's life. Everytime I sit on my bike, it makes me ready for everything. Most people may put their most lovely motorcycle in the corner of the garage because they afraid to get it scratched. But in my heart, I never want them to left dusty while I getting older. They must get old with me, that's how I value a motorcycle. That what's make a story, the only way for motorcycle brought alive.
