The TRX is MASSIVE! So much wider than a normal RAM but the Hellcat engine does a great job hiding the weight. One of the best trucks I've ever driven, seamless.

The whine of the Supercharger on top of the growl of that 6.2 liter Hemi is as sweet as it gets! Yes, EV trucks may be faster. But they do not stimulate the senses in the visceral manner that an ICE like this does. Facts!!!

Agree 100%. If numbers and speed was MOSTLY what mattered, sports car guys would all be driving Teslas. We need to enjoy these ICE monsters while we can!

A very refreshing and different review of the TRX!! I like your approach and the way you described this amazing truck! The Raptor boys(I had 3 so I know the difference!) can bitch all they want…..the TRX will do on or off road beautifully and there are very few,if any Raptor people that will do heavy Baka style runs or off roaming….even their own owners on the Raptor forums boast that most are Starbucks drive thru queens!! Lol

Yea man, I couldn’t agree more. But it’s the competition that brings these kinds of things to market. Ford has the Raptor R now (finally back to a V8), which I don’t think would have happened without the TRX. Do you remember when Dodge put the Vipers 8.4L V10 in Ram truck?? 🤣🤣

I will be honest and say I’m not a fan of the V10 as to me it sounds like a 4cylinder!! lol…..anyway,yes I agree that Ford bringing out the Raptor R is because of the TRX,to me the Raptor should have come out in 2017 with the V8 as an option to the V6! Personally I think that the TRX is way more of a truck than the Raptor is in so many ways….I’m sticking with my TRX!

Guess we will see what happens when the Raptor R releases, More horsepower then the TRX with lighter weight will make a strong competitor. Think Ford might take the crown back real soon especially with Dodge seeming to be twittling their thumbs with upgrades and trim level progress on the TRX.

@@shadowwolf5699 : You're off by more than 2 hp since you said the R would have more horsepower than a TRX but whatever. No, I'm not a fan of either truck. I think they're both a waste of money. They're both too big/wide for most off-roading & because they're setup for high speed desert running their ability to haul cargo & tow are also compromised. So they're pretty much pointless. Having said that the Raptor/Raptor R are better in high speed off-road/desert running since the suspension is better sorted out & they weigh less. Though the TRX isn't too far behind & actually has a better RTI score than the Raptor/Raptor R. They both have their positives/negatives. For the money I think the TRX is a better deal for what you get because of the ridiculous prices they charge for the Raptor R. Though the Raptor R is probably the better truck overall. RAMs aren't known for their reliability. Other than Vettes I don't really like American vehicles. Even with Vettes I only like them through 2019 (end of C7 gen). I think the C8s are ugly/have a designed by committee look (looks like a Ferrari's retarded brother). I've never been brand loyal/fanboy of any particular car brand like how some people only like Ford trucks (the kind who say - I'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy) or how others only like Chevy or Ram trucks etc...I think that is a ridiculous mentality. If a car manufacturer builds a model I like/catches my eye then that's what I go with regardless of who builds it.

It has almost twice the horsepower and torque of course it will win in a drag race. That’s like bragging about your Mustang beating a Prius!

No, a RAM isn't as reliable. Toyota is great for reliability. Toyota is also great at being mundane & boring as hell.

That's the real struggle! Most supercar owners drive them on weekends so that spark and feel dosnt go away quickly. Where's the TRX and 392 are dailys for many people and we just get used to it after a bit.

No we actually trained this one to use a plate 🫠

lol fast forward 2024 ... raptor was built strictly for off road and the trx could barely hang with the standard raptor in an extreme off roading and in the end breaks it's drive shaft died and even though the R version came 2023 the new the Raptor R second take is up to 720 horses while the the trx is about to be extinct. I wonder if the final edition's engine cover still had a t-rex eating a raptor or did it had a gun to it's head because it's about to die.
